The big news from Borussia Dortmund's perspective ahead of Saturday's clash is that Marco Reus will be forced to start on the bench as his old club visit Signal Iduna Park.
His absence will allow Mario Gotze to step into the No.10 role, with Jakub 'Kuba' Blaszczykowski and Kevin Grosskreutz either side of him, with Ivan Perisic also dropping to the bench. Elsewhere, Sven Bender is expected to step into the midfield alongside Sebastian Kehl, at the expense of Moritz Leitner.
Patrick Owomoyela remains a long-term absentee, but is slowly regaining fitness.
Meanwhile, Borussia Monchengladbach will be without the services of Martin Stranzl, who receives a straight red card for a professional foul during the match against Hamburg on Wednesday. Roel Brouwers will come into the defence for the Austrian.
Elsewhere, Patrick Herrmann limped out of the draw with Thorsten Fink's side after a heavy challenge, but will be fit to take his place on the right wing. Luuk de Jong will continue up front, despite a difficult start to his task of replacing Marco Reus.

There's no hiding it: Mats Hummels has been some way away from his best form in recent weeks. And with Borussia Dortmund set for a grueling run of fixtures as they look to stop Bayern Munich from running away with the Bundesliga title and prevent another humiliating early exit from the Champions League. There is no better place for him to start than by putting in an assured performance against Borussia Monchengladbach and getting a much-needed confidence boost for the clash with Manchester City.

The departure of Marco Reus has clearly hit Borussia Monchengladbach hard, and although much of the burden of replacing him has fallen on record signing Luuk de Jong, Patrick Herrmann must be expected to step up and shoulder some of the weight. And, in recent weeks, he has responded, not least with a sumptuous goal against Bayer Leverkusen last week. If the youngster is at his best on the right wing, he is more than capable of exposing Marcel Schmelzer, who has been in poor form in recent weeks.
Borussia Dortmund may not be in the form that they were at the tail end of last season, but Borussia Monchengladbach have been equally, if not more, disappointing so far this term. Jurgen Klopp has been adamant in his demands for defensive improvement, and although the visitors boast an impressive front line, I'd expect the hosts to edge them out and put in a far better performance than the ones we have seen in recent weeks.
