  • That's all from us in Bavaria then, I've been Daniel Edwards and it's been a pleasure to watch Bayern as they start their quest to regain the Bundesliga on the right foot.
  • Muller's neat finish just before half time was crucial for Die Roten, who had struggled to break down their hosts throughout the opening period. Greuther looked a lot more ragged after the goal, and a much-improved showing from Arjen Robben galvanised Bayern to take all three points at a canter.
  • And that's all she wrote! Full time in Furth, and Bayern run out - eventually - comfortable 3-0 winners. Unlucky for Greuther, who gave a good account of themselves on their Bundesliga debut.
  • 90'
Schweinsteiger had the chance to finish with a flourish as he breaks through, but lobs just over the bar.
  • 89'
    Yellow Card Jerome Boateng
  • 89'
A clumsy challenge by Boateng on Schmidtgal, and the yellow card is forthcoming down by the corner flag.
  • 88'
    SubstitutionToni Kroos Anatoliy Tymoshchuk
  • 88'
OOOH CLAUDIO!!! Pizarro is given a golden chance to net after Robben rips the defence open, but the Peruvian legend fires wide.
  • 86'
Bayern now coasting to an opening day victory, but credit to the hosts who matched their Bavarian rivals for a large part of the match before falling away in the last half-hour.
  • 83'
Robben was sniffing for a second, but is denied by a decisive intervention before Grun snaffled his follow-up effort.
  • 82'
A stroke of fortune there for Dante. The defender hesitated in clearing an awkward cross, but was saved by the ref who judged that he was fouled.
  • 81'
    SubstitutionMario Mandzukic Claudio Pizarro
  • 80'
Claudio Pizarro is going to see out the last 10 minutes in Furth, as he replaces goalscorer Mandzukic.
  • 79'
A stroke of fortune there for the winger. His cross took a wicked deflection and caught Grun off-guard, but he deserved it for a much better showing in the second half.
  • 79'
    Own Goal Thomas Kleine
  • 76'
Great defensive work from... Robben??? The winger sticks his foot in at just the right time to frustrate Greuther in the Bayern area.
  • 74'
It's all looking easy now for Bayern, who have taken a stranglehold on the game. Greuther will have to do something special to take something from their Bundesliga debut.
  • 73'
Kleine is in some discomfort after clashing with Mandzukic, but he's up and should be fine to continue.
  • 72'
    SubstitutionXherdan Shaqiri Bastian Schweinsteiger
  • 70'
ROBBEN! The Dutch star releases a venomous shot from Shaqiri's cross, but goalkeeper Grun does well to parry away.
  • 69'
    SubstitutionSebastian Tyrala Zoltan Stieber
  • 69'
Safe play from Boateng from the resulting free kick, the defender heads behind for a corner. Lahm is fouled, and Bayern can clear once more.
  • 68'
    Yellow Card Luiz Gustavo
  • 67'
A first Bayern yellow goes to Luis Gustavo, who tangled with Tyrala.
  • 66'
That second goal was definitely what the doctor ordered with regards to Bayern. The giants look far more composed now and are pushing forward to kill this game off. Shaqiri has stood out as one of the best with just over an hour played.
  • 65'
Muller tries to add to his tally, but heads well over.
  • 64'
Mandzukic tries to angle in a shot with close attention from the hosts, and wins the corner.
  • 63'
Sloppy from Schmidtgal, who controls the ball with his arm to concede a dangerous free kick.
  • 62'
    SubstitutionFall Ilir Azemi

And at the other end, Neuer is alert to smother a long-range strike from the home side.
  • 62'
Robben goes for the spectacular with a volley from outside the area, but his efforts balloons over the bar.
  • 60'
Arjen Robben was expertly played through by Shaqiri, and while his right-foot shot was parried the Croatian was on hand to slot home the rebound. Greuther ripped open on the counter and that spells serious trouble.
  • 59'
    Goal Mario Mandzukic
GOAL BAYERN!! Mario Mandzukic punishes to make it 2-0
  • 56'
Boateng wins a foul off Fall, who is blown up for obstruction as he contests the header.
  • 55'
If anyone thought the goal would lift the visitors, first impressions suggest they are sorely wrong. Ponderous, insipid approach play from Die Roten, with Kroos and Robben particularly guilty of failing to inject a bit of urgency into the attack.
  • 54'
Shaqiri doing some clever defensive work there, glancing a cross out of danger after a swift Greuther break.
  • 53'
    Yellow Card Thomas Kleine

  • 48'
Towering play by Manuel Neuer, who plucks the cross from Fall's head and holds on to the ball.
  • 48'
Tyrala strikes well, but Boateng gets his head to the ball and it's a corner.
  • 47'
Sloppy passing from Bayern, and Kroos concedes a dangerous free kick on the edge of his area.
  • 46'
Greuther get us going for this second period, can they make it back in the game after that late strike just before the interval?
  • @DanniyalAnwar seems rather optimistic with his prediction of 91-0 - especially after that first half!
  • A few predictions coming in from Twitter, with the consensus being Bayern will go on to win. @Zupkovic says "One more... Mandžukić as the scorer", while @Goldenn_Rose reckons a 3-0 win for Die Roten.
  • It'll be interesting to see what Jupp Heynckes does at half time, his team are in the lead but have looked unconvincing going forward. He can call on the likes of 'El Conquistador' Pizarro and Schweinsteiger on the bench to try and open up the game somewhat.
  • That effort from Muller was one of only two strikes at half time across the league. Borussia Monchengladbach were the other side to go ahead, 1-0 at home to Hoffenheim.
  • Credit to Dante for the goal, it was his original header that was cleared off the line and put Greuther in danger. You have to say Bayern are fortunate to go in ahead, attacking stars like Robben and Muller have shown very little so far and the goal never looked like coming from open play.
  • 45' + 1'
Half time in Furth, Muller's 43rd minute strike has put the Bundesliga runners-up into a 1-0 lead.
  • 44'
What a time to score for the away team, who up to now have enjoyed a lot of possession but have showed little precision or penetration. It wasn't a pretty goal, but a vital strike.
  • 43'
    Goal Thomas Müller
GOAL BAYERN!! Just when it looked like Greuther would hold on, Thomas Muller turns in from a deflected corner to fire his side into the lead,. Hammer blow for the hosts.
  • 41'
Shaqiri's shot takes a deflection, and it'll be a corner for Bayern.
  • 40'
You get the feeling that Greuther's goal was to reach half time, still in touch, and it looks like they're going to do it with ease. Good stuff from the newboys.
  • 38'
Muller takes a tumble in the box, but the referee is not impressed and it's a goal kick for Greuther.
  • 36'
A speculative effort from Kroos goes wide, but encouraging to see a bit more invention and ambition from Bayern.
  • 34'
Wonderful play by Sararer as he ghosts past Lahm, but the cross doesn't measure up to the dribble and Fall cannot get on the end.
  • 32'
Robben switches to the right to try and make something happen, but completely takes his eye off the ball to see it harmlessly go for a throw.
  • 30'
We've reached the half hour mark here, with neither team really threatening to open the scoring so far.
  • 28'
There's been no question that Bayern have had the lion's share of possession so far. Cutting edge has been lacking though, and Greuther have never looked uncomfortable going back.
  • 26'
Lovely passing from Bayern and Robben has room, but his cross cannot find Shaqiri and the danger passes.
  • 23'
The camera switches to the Greuther supporters as Max Grun prepares for a goal kick, and the faithful are fully enjoying their first taste of the Bundesliga so far.
  • 21'
Still no way through for the away team. A neat move on the right is broken up by Greuther, who have impressed early with some tenacious defending.
  • 19'
Die Roten of course are already playing catch up to the champions. Dortmund opened the Bundesliga last night with a 2-1 win over Werder Bremen
  • 17'
A probing free kick from Greuther, but no-one can get on it and it's a goal kick for Bayern.
  • 15'
Thomas Muller commits a clumsy challenge in the home area, and it's a free kick and a chance for the hosts to clear their lines.
  • 14'
Heinrich Schmidtgal lets loose from deep, but the ball goes harmlessly over.
  • 13'
Dante takes down Fall in a dangerous position, let's see what Greuther can do from this free kick.
  • 12'
Greuther were solid though, and are back with the ball.
  • 11'
Good sustained possession there from Bayern, and Robben wins the corner.
  • 9'
    Yellow Card Fall
  • 9'
A deserved booking for Djiby Fall, who clatters Boateng about 20 minutes after the defender cleared with his head.
  • 8'
Acrobatic stuff there from Mandzukic. The Croatian striker tries to improvise an overhead effort, and it wasn't too far wide.
  • 6'
Several key players down, it's been low-key stuff so far from the visitors but Robben tries to get things moving on the left
  • 4'
This is a decent start from Greuther, they're showing no fear against their illustrious rivals and are enjoying possession in the Bayern half.
  • 3'
Djiby Fall had a decent chance to get the ball on target there, but the forward made a mess of his shot and the harm passed
  • 2'
Toni Kroos tries to make inroads there, and is bundled over for a free kick in the Greuther half
  • 1'
And we're off! Bayern kick off and immediately try to consolidate possession. Will they get off to a winning start here?
  • Here come the teams into the Trolli Arena, on a fine Bavarian afternoon with the sun shining and the fans in full voice
  • The Bavarian club do have a fair bit of history to look back on, however. Greuther lifted the pre-Bundesliga German Championship three times, in 1914, 1926 and 1929; the first of those secured with William Townley on the bench, an English coach who in his playing days had the distinction of being the first man to score a hat-trick in an FA Cup final
  • This is the XI who will walk out for Greuther in their first match alongside the big boys... Grün; Nehrig, Kleine, Mavraj, Schmidtgal; Furstner, Petsos; Sararer, Tyrala, Mikkelsen; Fall
  • Bayern, meanwhile, will be desperate to start on a winning note in their bid to overturn Borussia Dortmund as Bundesliga champions come May. With Ribery and Gomez both out, they look a little something like this: Neuer; Lahm, Boateng, Dante, Badstuber; Luiz Gustavo, Kroos; Robben, Muller, Shaqiri; Mandzukic
  • A special day for Greuther today, as they play their first ever game in the Bundesliga top flight against none other than Die Roten, German football's most successful club.
  • Ladies and gentlemen, hello and welcome to the first Saturday of the 2012-13 season. My name is Daniel Edwards, and I'll be taking you through the highs and lows of Bayern Munich's visit to Greuther Furth
