Live Commentary

  • That's it from the Parc des Princes this evening. Join me for Champions League LIVE! on Tuesday when PSG take on Dynamo Kiev. Until then, good night!
  • 90' + 4'
FULL-TIME: Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 Toulouse FC (Pastore, Ibrahimovic)
  • 90' + 3'
The tempo has significantly died down, with both sides awaiting the sound of the final whistle.
  • 90' + 2'
    Yellow Card Moussa Sissoko
  • 90' + 2'
In all, it's been a comfortable match for PSG, who now turn their attentions to the Champions League opener against Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday evening, a return to the top table of European football.
  • 90'
Four minutes added onto the end of the second half.
  • 89'
Final substitution from Toulouse, and it's Didot off for Adrien Regattin. Montpellier meanwhile go 3-1 down to promoted Reims - they could find themselves in the relegation zone.
  • 88'
    SubstitutionEtienne Didot Adrien Regattin
  • 88'
Ibrahimovic attempting to find Nene on the wing, but Ahamada gets himself sorted out after initally almost getting caught out by the Brazilian. PSG looking for a third.
  • 87'
As it stands, the Ligue 1 table would still be headed by Olympique de Marseille, with Olympique Lyonnais second. PSG would noe leapfrog to third, with nine points from five games.
  • 85'
Five minutes left, and it already has that final-result feel to it as Alex heads powerfully goalwards from a corner, and it's cleared off the line by Etienne Capoue.
  • 83'
    SubstitutionMarco Verratti Sylvain Armand
  • 83'
    Yellow Card Clément Chantôme
  • 83'
It's Marco Verratti, who receives a rapturous applause from the home fans, gives away for Sylvain Armand. Eight minutes left in this Ligue 1 encounter.
  • 81'
Another yellow card, and it's given to Chantome after a late lunge on Aymen Abdennour. A final substitution is being readied by the hosts.
  • 79'
    SubstitutionFranck Tabanou Yannick Djaló
  • 79'
For Toulouse, it's Franck Tabanou off for Yannick Djalo. Meanwhile, Chantome again gets into a great position to latch onto Ibrahimovic's ball, but he is pushed away by Ahamada.
  • 78'
Few substitutions - for PSG it's Menez off (to applause) for Nene.
  • 77'
Champions Montpellier having an even harder time, with the holders currently 2-1 down to promoted Stade de Reims. Meanwhile in Paris, Jallet currently receiving medical attention.
  • 76'
    SubstitutionJérémy Menez Nené
  • 75'
Entering the last quarter of an hour in the French capital, and the hosts are still pressing. With five players forward, Matuidi crosses into the back post to find Chantome, but it's Abdennour at the rescue.
  • 74'
Having a further look at the statistics provided on's new MatchCentre - there actually isn't much to seperate the sides in terms of passing and distribution. Nevertheless, PSG's 80% tackles won to TFC's 54% is a big difference.
  • 72'
The Parisian faithful a little more relaxed with the game-changing second goal arriving. Toulouse continue to pose a threat at the other end, but they've failed to take advantage of any of their set-plays.
  • 70'
    SubstitutionJavier Pastore Clément Chantôme
  • 70'
PSG are well on their way to securing a sixth straight win over Toulouse in all competitions. Substitution - it's Pastore off for Clement Chantome, who celebrated his birthday earlier this week.
  • 69'
    Assist Jérémy Menez
  • 69'
    Goal Zlatan Ibrahimovic
GOOALL!! IBRAHIMOVIC MAKES IT 2-0! Surely game over now. Traditionally Parisian, and it's the blistering counter-attack which rips apart the visitors. Menez surges forward on the wing in acres of space, crossing low for Ibrahimovic who has the easiest of tap-ins.
  • 68'
Another poor bit of play, and this time it's Jeremy Menez who is the guilty party as he backheels the ball out of play despite being afforded the options of both Motta and Pastore.
  • 67'
Menez and Maxwell combine on the flank, but the latter holds off for Pastore who fires high wide, and not at all handsome.
  • 65'
Well, that was a poor challenge. Riviere holds off Jallet, and both tussle for the ball. when it does go out, the Toulouse man launches the PSG captain off the pitch!
  • 64'
Just over 25 minutes left in this one, with Paris Saint-Germain hoping to secure their first home win of the new campaign.
  • 63'
    SubstitutionDaniel Braaten Emmanuel Riviere
  • 63'
First substitution of the night - it's striker Emmanuel Riviere on for winger Daniel Braaten.
  • 62'
Aurier shows his powerful physique in getting past Maxwell, who is being terrorised somewhat on the far side. Verratti concedes the corner, which is taken easily by Sirigu.
  • 61'
A goal in tonight's other game in Ligue 1, and it's Stade de Reims 1-1 Montpellier - substitute Remy Cabella scoring. John Utaka injured too.
  • 59'
    Yellow Card Alex
  • 59'
Decent pressure from the visitors, with the corner from Tabanou easily nullified by the towering figure of Alex.
  • 58'
BEN YEDDER! Oh, should've worked Sirigu harder. The youngster does well to even get into a position, but after moving past Sakho, shoots tamely at the goalkeeper.
  • 58'
Good feet from Ibrahimovic who has no options initially, but after holding off Steeve Yago, finds Jallet in acres of space on the right side of midfield, before being penalised.
  • 55'
Poor effort from Aurier, who scampers past Maxwell on the right side of midfield, but blazes over at the first attempt. Still 1-0 to PSG.
  • 54'
This PSG side is still missing the likes of Gregory van der Wiel, Thiago Silva (who have made no appearances yet) as well as Ezequiel Lavezzi, who has made just the two so far. How far do you see Ancelotti's side going?
  • 52'
Ibrahimovic having a quiet game so far, by his standards anyway! Ahamada has an easy take on his effort. From distance, over 30 yards, but poses no such problems.
  • 50'
Toulouse's defensive frailties highlighted again as Ibrahimovic threads a neat through ball behind Yago, which finds Menez, but the angle is too acute for the winger to get a clean shot on it. Nevertheless, Ahamada concedes a corner.
  • 49'
Dangerous take for Sirigu, with a speculative cross from Braaten bouncing in front of the Italy international, but the goalkeeper has a sweet take on it.
  • 48'
Didot finding it hard to locate some space in a congested left flank, but M'Bengue has no such problems, crossing in too deep with Aurier firing over from a poorly produced volley.
  • 47'
ALEX! Great delivery from Menez, with the Brazilian getting past Abdennour in the air, and heading narrowly over. Always rising that one, but good movement nonetheless.
  • 47'
Free-kick to the hosts as Abdennour perhaps goes a little too rough on goalscorer Javier Pastore. Jeremy Menez to take this, about 25 metres out, and on the right.
  • 46'
UNDERWAY! In the second half, it's Toulouse attacking from right to left in their change strip of white.
  • Few comments coming in through our Match Centre Chatbox: Ben Abdul Khalek says: These are the kind of games that Ibra would usually thrive in, but PSG have been dropping points..
  • But what of that Marco Verratti, huh? What a first-half from the young Italy international, labelled as the next Andrea Pirlo. Superb movement in midfield, and a lovely chip to assist Pastore's opener. Your thoughts? Tweet me @mohammedali_93
  • No added time, and rightly so, in what has been a thoroughly enjoyable first half from the Parc des Princes. Toulouse had much of the early openings, and should've taken the lead through Ben Yedder, but PSG recovered from an early slump, and head into the interval 1-0 up thanks to a brilliantly worked Pastore goal.
  • 45'
    Half-time: Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 Toulouse (Pastore 38')
  • 43'
In tonight's other Ligue 1 game, the champions Montpellier are down 1-0 to Stade de Reims. Meanwhile in Paris, Jallet plays a one-two with Verratti, with Motta's slightly wayward past finding Ahamada.
  • 41'
Javier Pastore's goal also marked the first non-Ibrahimovic goal from the hosts this evening.
  • 40'
Toulouse shaken by the setback, with Ibrahimovic racing again past the last defender, before being tackled once more. The visitors, have surprisingly had more of the chances in the first half, but it is PSG who lead - and for the first time at home this evening!
  • 39'
It was a clever, and slightly fortuitous move, with much of the visitors' defence clearly focused on Ibrahimovic who simply stood still and wasn't even involved in the build-up. Pastore escaped the clutches of Yago, and the Argentine spotted the goalkeeper off the line, and consequently broke the deadlock.
  • 38'
    Assist Marco Verratti
  • 38'
    Goal Javier Pastore
GOOOALL!! PASTORE BREAKS THE DEADLOCK! What a move from the hosts, as Pastore latches onto a chipped ball from Verratti which causes some confusion as Ibrahimovic stands still in an offside position. The Argentine isn't, and chips the ball over the goalkeeper!
  • 36'
    Yellow Card Marco Verratti
  • 36'
Ancelotti looks on with a straight face, but a card will be dished out. It will be for Marco Verratti, possibly for what was said during the little episode. Play resumes.
  • 35'
All kicking off a little on the pitch as Abdennour's tackle on Menez brings a barrage of booing from the hosts' faithful. All the players immediately remonstrate to the referee, and a fair bit of pushing and shoving.
  • 34'
Aymen Abdennour holding strong in defence at the moment. Matuidi takes possession in the midfield, and with Maxwell providing cover on the wing, he crosses deep with the Tunisian international heading away. Matuidi later concedes a free-kick for a challenge on Didot.
  • 34'
Aymen Abdennour holding strong in defence at the moment. Matuidi takes possession in the midfield, and with Maxwell providing cover on the wing, he crosses deep with the Tunisian international heading away. Matuidi later concedes a free-kick for a challenge on Didot.
  • 32'
MENEZ! Superb move, but it fails to come to fruition. Ibrahimovic latches on a weighted through ball, and with Matuidi being used as a decoy, the former AC Milan striker instead picks out Menez at the far post, who cannot convert it in as it slides away. A briliant chance goes begging.
  • 31'
Pastore locates Ibrahimovic with a chipped ball over a static defence, but the big Swede stops in his tracks. He knows he is offside, second time tonight.
  • 30'
Poor strike from Tabanou, who had options literally left right and centre. The left sided midfielder instead cuts in on his unfavoured right foot, and slams a low shot which edges wide.
  • 29'
Ohh fantastic pass from Capoue, deep in midfield and finding Aurier in a perfect spot on the right wing. The latter's cross is slightly over-hit, and fails to locate its intended target. Nice attacking feel to the game so far.
  • 28'
Great move from Toulouse as Aurier leads the counter-attack, finding Didot on the edge of the box, with his powerful shot being blocked. Seconds later, it's Abdennour with a fine pass to the wing, before Jallet tracks back to concede the corner.
  • 27'
The hosts maybe struggling to find a pass in the final third, such is the solidity of the visitors' rearguard. Verratti highlights the point, bu sliding a ball into Menez, but it goes nowhere.
  • 25'
Paris Saint-Germain upping the tempo a little as we approach the half-hour. Speculative cross from Jallet is deflected off M'Bengue, before an acrobatic Abdennour takes it away from his goalkeeper.
  • 23'
Sissoko attempts a chance, and it flies harmlessly wide. His right footed attempt from just outside the box was no harm to Sirigu.
  • 23'
Good challenge from Didot after a threatening move from Motta. Pastore runs into space, hoping to catch the eye of Ibrahimovic. He makes contact with the ball, before being held off by Aymen Abdennour. Fans make a penalty claim, but it never was really.
  • 22'
Capoue finds space in the midfield and utilizes well after a good run by Braaten past Maxwell on the left. Nevertheless, it's a weak move, with Alex intercepting expertly just seconds later.
  • 21'
Statistics pretty varied as we move into the half way point of the first period. Toulouse marginally better in pass completion at 89% compared to PSG's 88%. Though the hosts lead considerably in passes made.
  • 19'
Further TV replays on that Ben Yedder strike, it's a smashing hit from the young striker, who skips past the challenge of Sakho and swings it with his right. Top save from the Italy international.
  • 18'
BEN YEDDER! Woah, what a hit! Almost the lead from the visitors, with a player who was an amateur as recently as 2010. Lovely ball into the forward, and a powerful strike needs a world-class save from Sirigu.
  • 17'
Good idea. Verratti shows quick feet to get past his marker, and lob a ball in towards Ibrahimovic, but it's denied by a good interception. How many times will we see that move replayed on the field tonight?
  • 16'
Corner to Toulouse. Franck Tabanou delivers an inswinging effort, but again, it proves to be an easy take for the goalkeeper.
  • 15'
There's another Ligue 1 game on this evening, in the form of Stade de Reims v Montpellier. Both PSG and the French champions are given an early playing slot due to their Champions League duties on Tuesday.
  • 13'
Serge Aurier enjoying a decent enough start to the game. A powerful presence on the right side of defence, he has already made a number of galloping runs to the by-line. His cross this time is easily picked off by Sirigu.
  • 12'
Jallet causing a fair bit of havoc on the right side with his cross needing to be blocked by Abdennour, before being denied the second time. The move fizzles out after Matuidi curles a finish from distance well over the bar.
  • 11'
A half-chance, out of nothing for Moussa Sissoko - who this week, was labelled as the player to watch by Ancelotti. A tame shot, which was blocked by Alex, saw the ball trickle back to Sirigu.
  • 10'
Let's have an early look at PSG's statistics on's brand new LIVE match centre. They're leading with 59.6% possession, and have won 100% of their aerial duels. Impressive.
  • 8'
ALEX! Just wide. The resulting corner almost catches out the side from the Pink City, but once more, his header inched wide past Ahamada's left post. Early pressure from Ancelotti's side.
  • 7'
IBRAHIMOVIC! Oh what a move, and good save from Ali Ahamada. The big Swede swiveled past Cheikh M'Bengue well enough, but shot straight at the France U21 goalkeeper. Should've been an opener.
  • 6'
Maxwell picks up the ball in off the left wing, darting past Capoue, and after reaching the penalty area, finds an offside Zlatan Ibrahimovic who doesn't even try to retrieve the ball.
  • 5'
Foul by Thiago Motta, and Toulouse fail to make anything of the free-kick, but Jeremy Menez attempts to surge into a counter-attack, but fails.
  • 4'
A side point, Carlo Ancelotti is pretty lucky to even be on the touchline this evening. He was handed a two match suspended sentence for his red card against Ajaccio three weeks ago.
  • 3'
Etienne Didot latches on to a lofted ball from the free-kick, evading Maxwell, but the angle is too short to get a cross in. Toulouse seeing much of the ball early on.
  • 2'
A composed start from the visitors, who will be wary of their record in the capital. Serge Aurier clipped by Matuidi, and we have a free-kick to le Tefece
  • 1'
A lovely autumn evening at the Parc des Princes, AND WE ARE UNDERWAY!
  • The teams are coming out at the Parc des Princes. Tonight's referee is Alexandre Castro.
  • TEAM NEWS Carlo Ancelotti has already revealed that Thiago Silva and Ezequiel Lavezzi will be rested this weekend, with the latter completing his two-match ban. Marco Verratti continues to deployed in midfield, despite Mohamed Sissoko returning from injury. New signing Gregory van der Wiel is not even included in the squad. Toulouse captain Jonathan Zebina has failed to shake off a back injury and is replaced by Steeve Yago. Nevertheless, the visitors are unchanged.
  • Toulouse: Ahamada; Aurier, Yago, Abdennour, M'Bengué; Capoue; Braaten, Didot, Sissoko, Tabanou; Ben Yedder
  • Paris Saint-Germain: Sirigu; Jallet, Alex, Sakho, Mexwell; Verratti, Thiago Motta, Matuidi; Menez, Pastore; Ibrahimovic
  • Some statistics: Paris Saint-Germain have played host to Toulouse on 24 previous occasions in the top flight, winning 14, drawing six and losing just four. Toulouse have won on just two of their last 16 visits to the Parc des Princes on league duty. They were 2-1 winners in the capital in December, 2007 thanks to a brace from Johan Elmander. Then, in October 2008, a Zoumana Camara own-goal handed them a 1-0 victory. PSG's biggest home wins against Toulouse have all been by 3-0 margins, in November, 1985, April 1991 and in March 2001.
  • TFC boss Casanova meanwhile is a little wary of tonight's opponents: "They are a Champions League team; we are a long way from being that. To go to the Parc des Princes and play against these guys, it's extraordinary, but we have a game to play and it will be a very complicated."
  • A few quotes from the managers, starting with Carlo Ancelotti: "Our aim is to build on our performance against Lille. Toulouse are a good team, physical, well organised, and with quality players. They will come here to defend well, just like Bordeaux. We need to play with greater speed and with more movement, just as we did in the first half against Lille.
  • Alain Casanova's men meanwhile, have a poor record in the French capital. Les Parisiens have won each of the last five games in this fixture, winning 3-1 in both fixtures last season. Indeed, PSG's last home defeat against Toulouse came in October 2008. Shock result? Unlikely.
  • Toulouse meanwhile, are unbeaten after four games. Their 1-1 draw against Reims a fortnight ago, which included an equaliser from Wissam Ben Yedder, means Alain Casanova's men sit fifth, having amassed eight points out of a possible twelver. Le Tefece are traditionally renowned for a strong start to the league season, with Etienne Capoue - a scorer in France's 3-1 win over Belarus in midweek - expected to start in midfield.
  • Nevertheless, the onus is on for the big-spending hosts to continue in the same way. Already six points behind eternal rivals and early pacesetters Olympique de Marseille, les Parisiens are set to begin their UEFA Champions League adventure against Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday evening.
  • OK, that's sorted. Where to start? After the international break, the fledgling football season gets into full swing. On Matchday four, PSG won their first league game at the fourth attempt, by beating LOSC Lille Metropole 2-1 at the Grand Stade. Zlatan Ibrahimovic's double - one of which came after 28 seconds, gave Carlo Ancelotti's side their first three points, after turgid draws against Ajaccio, Lorient and Bordeaux.
