Lille - Paris Saint-Germain Preview: Under-fire visitors aiming for much-needed victory despite poor record against les Dogues

Carlo Ancelotti's men travel north with no wins from their first three league games, and a defeat to Sunday's hosts could well spark a mini-crisis at the big-spending club

Lille will be buoyed by their Champions League qualification in midweek, and are likely to name more or less the same side that featured against Copenhagen for the visit of Paris Saint-Germain.

Mathieu Debuchy, whose move to the Premier League failed to materialise this week, is the sole injury concern for Rudi Garcia, with full-back Frank Beria continuing to full in on the right-hand side.

Paris Saint-Germain, meanwhile, are one draw or defeat away from a mini-crisis after three uninspiring ties in their Ligue 1 campaign to date. Thiago Silva is in line to finally make his debut for the capital club, with Carlo Ancelotti expected to dump his 4-3-2-1 Christmas tree formation for the 4-2-3-1 with which PSG flourished under Antoine Koumbouare.

Ezequiel Lavezzi is suspended, while Jeremy Menez is likely to return to the starting XI in place of 17-year-old Adrien Rabiot, who made his debut last weekend. Mohamed Sissoko remains sidelined.

The Ligue 1 transfer window does not close until September 4, with Gregory van der Wiel expected to make the move to the French capital in the coming days.

The attacking midfielder played a considerable part in achieving Champions League qualification, but will be hoping to have more of an impact against big-spending PSG. Martin is the type of player that les Parisiens will be hoping to contain, with his trickery and great passing range the sort of traits that les Parisiens have succumbed to, most notably against FC Lorient in week one. The former Sochaux man will be one of the players most marked on Sunday evening.

Finally, the Brazilian is set to make his long-awaited debut after returning from the Olympic Games in London, and only being presented last Friday. Whilst PSG have not exactly floundered in defence having achieved two clean sheets, it is their slip-up against Lorient which have made PSG fans hoping for Thiago to make his debut as soon as possible. Touted as the best centre-back in world football, Lille will need a monumental effort to negotiate a way past the former Milan defender.
Prediction
LOSC will be on a high after their Champions League qualification was sealed in midweek, and with a formidable record against PSG, they will be hoping to cut the gap growing at the top. Les Parisiens have looked largely lethargic, with the side lacking noticeable width, as opponents look to limit PSG's creative talent to full effect. Both sides will be targeting a much-needed three points, but another draw is the most likely result.
