White Hart Lane — London

Attendance:‬ 36142‎

Tottenham lacked creativity until the introduction of Dembele, but still created few clear-cut chances. Villas-Boas will be troubled by such a flat performance, and being win-less going into the international break will do nothing to relieve the significant pressure on his shoulders.

Despite Spurs' superior possession, Norwich created the best chances in the game. Martin's header off the bar and Friedel's superb save to stop Snodgrass more than merited a draw for Norwich. Snodgrass had a fantastic game and caused a number of problems for Tottenham's left flank.

FULLTIME!!! Tottenham 1-1 Norwich. Dembele's debut strike is undone by Snodgrass' late leveller. Tom Huddlestone added more misery to Villas-Boas's day by getting sent off. Both sides remain win-less.

90′ +4
Holt finds himself in space inside the box, Gallas moves across to challenge him. The ball deflects into the path of Johnson, but his rasping drive is saved by Friedel.

90′ +2
Tottenham have kept the ball well since going a man down. Sustained pressure results in a tame effort on goal from Dembele.

89′
Red Card Tom Huddlestone

89′
RED CARD!!! Huddlestone slides in to try and win a 50/50 ball with Howson. Initially the decision looked correct, but on replay Huddlestone can feel slightly aggrieved. Not two-footed, not overly dangerous, but Spurs are down to ten men.

88′
Yellow Card Gareth Bale

85′
Assist Grant Holt

85′
Goal Robert Snodgrass
GOAL!!! Tottenham fail to clear a cross which is nodded on inside the box by Holt. Snodgrass smashes it in on the volley, beating Friedel at his far post. Almost a replica of the goal Spurs conceded against West Brom last week. A deserved equaliser for Norwich.

84′
Morison is taken out off the ball by Livermore on the edge of the box. Needless free-kick to concede. Snodgrass aims it at Bassong, but Adebayor clears the danger.

82′
Tottenham make a third and final change. Huddlestone, who looked to be on his way out of White Hart Lane, replaces Defoe. Villas-Boas is looking to shut up shop.

81′
Substitution Jermain Defoe Tom Huddlestone

80′
A hopeful long ball is chased down by Adebayor, who pressures Bassong and wins a corner. Norwich clear the initial cross only for Holt to concede a dangerous free-kick. Assou-Ekotto's cross is just too high for Gallas.

79′
Defoe runs down the channel and collects Dembele's pass. He then feeds Bale, but the Welshman's shot is easily saved.

76′
Assou-Ekotto has a handful of Morison's shirt inside the box. Incredibly, the referee awards the free-kick in the Cameroonian's favour.

74′
Tottenham have a better hold on the match now, but Norwich still look dangerous on the break, and Spurs look especially vulnerable when Holt can isolate Gallas or Vertonghen.

73′
Substitution K. Jackson Steve Morison

72′
Tottenham have kept the ball well after scoring, but Norwich launch a quick break. Holt picks up the ball down the right and crosses for Jackson, whose glancing header goes out for a thow.

68′
Assist Jermain Defoe

68′
Goal Mousa Dembélé
GOAL!!! It's a debut goal for Dembele. The Belgian smothers Howson in midfield and wins possession before offloading to Defoe. Defoe passes back to Dembele on the edge of the box, who twists and turns and fires the ball past Ruddy down low to his left. Excellent finish, and the Spurs fans have found their voice at last.

67′
Tottenham continue to try and use their pace down the flanks. This time Bale releases Assou-Ekotto, but his cross doesn't quite fall for Defoe. Much improved possession for Tottenham.

65′
Tottenham have improved after the introductions of Dembele and Adebayor, but still lack creativity and end product. A decent moves results in a difficult headed opportunity for Defoe, but Norwich deal with the danger with ease.

62′
Snodgrass picks up the ball and runs at Assou-Ekotto before poking the ball through to Pilkington, who produces a good low save from Friedel.

61′
Good interplay between Howson and Johnson sees the former release Pilkington inside the box. His cross goes out for a corner, and Tottenham clear the danger.

60′
Dembele takes a shot and it deflects into the path of Defoe. Bassong jumps in on the forward, fouling him in the process. A free-kick is awarded, but the foul looked to have taken place on the 18-yard line and should therefore have been a penalty. Defoe blasts the free-kick into the wall and out for a corner.

56′
Substitution Gylfi Sigurdsson Emmanuel Adebayor

56′
Sigurdsson, who has had a quiet game, is replaced by Adebayor. Spurs need the ball to stick upfront.

55′
Bale drives forward as the Norwich defence backs off. Bale fires his shot across goal, but his effort is high and wide.

53′
After a promising first few minutes to the half inspired by Dembele, Spurs' performance has dipped back to the level of the first half. Tottenham need to get the Belgian on the ball.

51′
Norwich win a corner which is played in by Snodgrass, but Tottenham clear the danger. The ball is launched back to Snodgrass, who finds Holt unmarked inside the box, but he heads over.

48′
Norwich break and Gallas slides through the back of Jackson in an attempt to win the ball. The referee awards a free-kick which is taken by Snodgrass, but his curling shot is a long way wide.

46′
Substitution Sandro Mousa Dembélé

46′
Assou-Ekotto escape down the left and gets in behind the Norwich defence. His pullback evades Defoe at the near post, but reaches Sigurdsson on the edge of the area. Sigurdsson's volley is well saved by Ruddy.

46′
We're back under way at White Hart Lane. Dembele is on for Sandro, making his debut for the club. Norwich are unchanged.

Tottenham have lacked creativity and invention, particularly in central midfield. White Hart Lane is eerily quiet, and it can't be long before Villas-Boas introduces Adebayor and Dembele.

Norwich have played well against a subdued Tottenham team. Johnson has won the battle for midfield, while Snodgrass is a constant threat down the right. Ruddy has rarely been tested, and Spurs' only efforts have been half chances on the break.

HALFTIME! The scores are level, but Norwich should be ahead. They've smashed the crossbar and forced Friedel into a fantastic double save.

43′
Incredible double save from Brad Friedel. Snodgrass is picked out by a brilliant Pilkington cross inside the 6-yard box and heads the ball back across the American's goal. Friedel makes a fantastic save, and then responds quickly to get back up and prevent Jackson from tapping in the rebound. There's life in the old dog yet.

40′
Assou-Ekotto concedes another free-kick in an identicial position to that which Martin rattled the crossbar from. Snodgrass' delivery is cleared this time however.

39′
Sigurdsson's deflected pass finds Defoe on the edge of the box, but his volley misses the goal by miles.

37′
Bale and Lennon have switched flanks now. The former floats a crossfield pass over to Lennon who drives forward and picks out Sandro. The Brazilian's shot is horribly wide.

34′
Gallas plays a forward pass to Sigurdsson, who finds himself in a lot of space. He runs forward and lays the ball off for Lennon, whose cut back goes out for a corner. Norwich clear Sigurdsson's resulting delivery.

30′
A shot on target at last. Bale picks up the ball from deep and runs towards goal. The Norwich defence back off and Bale thunders an effort at goal which is well saved by Ruddy.

27′
Tottenham break and Defoe slides Lennon in on goal, but his first touch takes him too wide. He crosses for Sigurdsson who fails to control the ball.

25′
Pilikington beats Walker and drills in a low cross, which is cleared by the Tottenham defence. Norwich win back possession immediately and feed Snograss whose cross is right in the danger zone. Friedel's punch only goes as far as Johnson who hits the ball over.

23′
Better period of possession from Tottenham, but there's no penetration or end product. Gallas and Vertonghen getting a lot of time on the ball, but doing little with the ball.

21′
Much of Norwich's play is being focussed down the right hand side with Martin and Snodgrass. Bale is being forced to defend more than attack so far. Tottenham yet to click.

18′
Defoe holds up the ball, skipping past a handful of Norwich players but always moving away from goal. He eventually cuts back inside and fires a tame effort wide of the post.

17′
Jackson finds space and runs at Vertonghen. The Belgian forces him away from goal, but Jackson tries an ambitious shot that is dragged well wide. Holt is not happy with his strike partner there.

16′
Sandro surges through the Norwich midfield, with the ball eventually finding Bale down the left flank. His cross is cleared for a corner, which is well dealt with by Norwich.

13′
Tottenham haven't started well and are lacking ball retention and creativity in midfield. Norwich on top so far.

11′
Sigurdsson wriggles past Garrido and plays a searching ball across goal, but Defoe can't quite reach it.

9′
Assou-Ekotto gives away a needless foul. The resulting free-kick is floated into the box by Snodgrass and Russell Martin thunders his header against the crossbar.

6′
Norwich have had more of the ball in the opening five minutes, especially down their right hand side with Snodgrass. But Spurs look lively on the counter. Another fast break releases Lennon, whose cut back alludes three white shirts in the box.

3′
Norwich have the ball down Tottenham's right, but the Spurs defence wins possession and counter. The ball eventually reaches Sigurdsson 25-yards out from goal who fires over.

1′
Norwich get the game under way.

The teams are in the tunnel at White Hart Lane and we're just minutes away from kick-off. Both sides are win-less so far this season.

With Tottenham signing French shot stopper Hugo Lloris on deadline day, is this the last of Brad Friedel’s staggering run of 307 consecutive league games?

Canaries boss Chris Hughton played 398 games for Tottenham and spent 28 years at the club as a player and coach.

Norwich won the corresponding fixture last season, with goals from Pilkington and Bennett securing a 2-1 win at White Hart Lane. However, since then Norwich have won just once and conceded a staggering 20 goals in 7 games.

Chris Hughton names an unchanged team from the side that drew against QPR. Simeon Jackson retains his place upfront after scoring last week, but Wes Hoolahan remains on the bench despite impressing in mid-week in the Capital One Cup. New signing Alexander Tettey is also on the bench.

Andre Villas-Boas makes one change to the side that drew with West Brom, with Gylfi Sigurdsson starting in place of a departed Rafael van der Vaart. New signing Mousa Dembele has to make do with a place on the bench, while Jermain Defoe starts upfront ahead of Emmanuel Adebayor.

Norwich: Ruddy; Martin, Barnett, Bassong, Garrido; Snodgrass, Johnson, Howson, Pilkington; Jackson, Holt. Subs: Rudd, Turner, Surman, Hoolahan, Morison, Tierney, Tettey.

Tottenham: Friedel; Walker, Gallas, Vertonghen, Walker; Sandro, Livermore; Lennon, Sigurdsson, Bale; Defoe. Subs: Cudicini, Naughton, Caulker, Huddlestone, Dembele, Townsend, Adebayor.
