Greuther Furth coach Michael Buskens turns 44 today and will be hoping for a belated birthday present as his side look to get past the Bundesliga leaders and into the DFB-Pokal final.
The hosts will likely stick with a similar team that saw them ease past 1860 Munich at the weekend with in-form Canadian striker Olivier Occean starting in attack. He could be joined by former Germany international forward Gerald Asamoah, who only made the bench at the weekend.
Borussia Dortmund are expected to welcome Sven Bender back to the starting line-up after the defensive midfielder recovered from illness. He stands to replace Ilkay Gundogan.
Jurgen Klopp will likely use his strongest first XI, but the match offers an opportunity for the coach to experiment and rest his stars should BVB gain a comfortable lead early on. Ivan Perisic may get a run out in midfield, while Mitch Langerak could be used in goal to give Roman Weidenfeller a break. Mario Gotze's return from injury nears, but it is unlikely he will see any action this week.

The Canadian has scored six goals in his last seven games and will want to show that he can cut it against Bundesliga opposition. He scored the only goal as Greuther Furth sunk Hoffenheim in the last round and will be eager for another top-tier scalp. His two goals at the weekend helped the Cloverleaves remain at the summit of the 2. Bundesliga and if he keeps up his current form he could well secure games against the country's best teams on a regular basis with promotion.

The Polish wide-man is enjoying a fantastic season at BVB and though he may not be prolific in front of goal, his role in the team is crucial. He has pace to burn and when joined with superb vision and creativity, it makes for a lethal combination. If Greuther Furth want any chance of reaching the final they will need to keep Jakub "Kuba" Blaszczykowski quiet, without neglecting any of the other Dortmund forwards.
The leaders of the 2. Bundesliga have shown they are no pushovers with wins against Nurnberg and Hoffenheim in the previous two rounds but the reigning Bundesliga champions could prove a bridge too far for the hosts. They will be high on confidence but as long as BVB do not get complacent, they should find themselves earning a spot in the final. The attacking quartet for Dortmund may well prove too much for the hosts and they should be able to win by a couple of clear goals at least.
