Qatar boosted their hopes of progress to the fourth round of 2014 World Cup qualifying and ended Indonesia's with a 4-0 rout in Doha on Friday.

Qatar dominated the game from the beginning with Sebastiao Lazaroni's team threatening the Indonesian defence through Khalfan Ibrahim in the 12th minute but goalkeeper Hendro Kartiko denied him.

Indonesia's defence was finally broken after Boaz Solossa's mistake when Mohamed Razak scored on 29 minutes with a first-time shot after receiving a cross from the right side of the box.

Khalfan doubled the scoreline on 32 minutes, scored from spot with ease after Hussein Ali Shihab was fouled by Hamka Hamzah.

On 35 minutes, Indonesia took the initiative to play more attacking. The best chance to score came when a cross from Muhammad Ridwan found Solossa. His shot had beaten keeper Qasem Burhan but defender Marcone Amaral was in the right position to block the ball on the goal line.

In the second half, Qatar still remained in control of the game but Indonesia were able to create some opportunities with Boaz Solossa firing off target wildly on 62 minutes.

Qatar grabbed a third through Khalfan, his second, on 64 minutes to end any doubt about the result.

The hosts then decreased the tempo of the game. Indonesia coach Wim Rijsbergen made some changes late on with the introduction of Cristian Gonzales, Muhammad Ilham and Mahyadi Panggabean but it failed to provide a spark.

Substitute Sebastian Soria was even able to score the fourth goal for Qatar in injury time with a right-foot strike after he broke the offside trap.
