VIDEO: Iraq 1-0 China highlights

Chinese hopes of reaching the 2014 World Cup in Brazil now lie in tatters after suffering a last-gasp defeat at the hands of Zico's side, who consolidate second place in Group A

Iraq have boosted their chances of progressing from the third round of Asia's World Cup qualifying following a deserved 1-0 win over China on Friday.

The visitors offered very little in an attacking sense, with just an early goal being flagged for offside their most threatening effort on target.

China's bad day at the office took a turn for the worse near the end as Zhang Linpeng was given his marching orders for bringing down Younis Mahmoud while clean through on goal.

Their poor display was compounded as Mahmoud beat the offside trap to smash the winner deep into stoppage time and consign Jose Antonio Camacho's men to a third qualifying defeat in four matches.
