AC Milan 4-1 Parma: Nocerino hat-trick & Ibrahimovic strike secures convincing win for champions
The Italian midfielder was the star of the show as he fired the Rossoneri past the visitors in a one-sided affair at San Siro
By Adam Wheeler
AC Milan recorded a 4-1 victory over Parma in Serie A action at San Siro on Wednesday thanks a hat-trick from Antonio Nocerino and cool finish from Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The match started brightly for the champions who controlled the game early on with some neat passing moves and created their first chance in the fifth minute. Nocerino's lofted ball found Antonio Cassano on the left flank but the striker's cross sailed past the post.
The home side were still dominating the possession without really troubling Franco Colomba's side, however, just before the half hour mark the champions took the lead through a scrappy goal from Nocerino. A great cross-field ball from Alberto Aquilani found Ibrahimovic down the left and the Sweden international's neat pull back fell to Nocerino who guided the ball past Antonio Mirante.
Two minutes later Milan had doubled their advantage again through the impressive Nocerino as the midfielder unleashed a ferocious volley from the outside of the box which left Mirante with no chance.
The quick-fire double seemed to leave Parma stunned as they struggled to trouble the Rossoneri for the remainder of the half.
The second half began and the hosts were still in total control with Aquilani being denied just before the hour mark.
Then 10 minutes later Milan wrapped up the game through a great finish from Ibrahimovic. The former Inter striker's smart turn left Rolf Feltscher trailing as he coolly slotted past Mirante to make it three for the hosts.
With just over 10 minutes to go the away side responded through Sebastian Giovinco as the Italy international burst past Ignazio Abate before unleashing a powerful drive that flew past Christian Abbiati.
Nocerino struck again at the death after some great work from Cassano with the resulting cross falling to the former Palermo man who made no mistake in grabbing his hat-trick.
This result means Milan have won their last three league games and the Rossoneri will be in good spirits when they travel to the Eternal City to face Roma on Saturday.
