Lucien Favre was dealth a hefty blow on Friday when it was confirmed that star forward Marco Reus would miss out on Saturday's match due to a broken toe, which is not sufficiently healed over the course of the week. Igor de Camargo has also withdrawn from the squad due to back problems, meaning that Raul Bobadilla is expected to be the Germany international's stand-in. Otherwise, Favre will likely be without fringe players Joshua King and Elias Kachunga.
For Dortmund the definite absentees are Julian Koch, Never Subotic and Sven Bender, who are all sidelined with injuries. It is not yet clear who will spearhead the attack for the Bundesliga champions, but following his goal against Schalke, Robert Lewandowski is likely be given the nod ahead of Lucas Barrios, who is yet to find the net for BVB this season.

- Lucien Favre's men have won their last four matches in the Bundesliga. The club achieved this for the first time in 17 years.

- Dortmund have won all but one of their last eight league games.
- BVB were defeated on their last visit to Monchengladbach. Last season Lucien Favre's men managed to edge the eventual champions 1-0 at Borussia Park, courtesy of a strike by Mohamadou Idrissou, who now represents Eintracht Frankfurt.

The ex-BVB man will be keen to show what his former employers missed out on, so expect the attacker to give 100 per cent on Saturday. His breath-taking shooting, dribbling and vision have carried Gladbach through on countless occasions this season and he will have to be on the top of his game against BVB.

There is an old saying that attack wins games, but defence wins titles. This is especially valid, when it comes to big and decisive matches such as Saturday's Borussen derby. The ever-improving Mats Hummels will have to step up once again and ensure Dortmund have a solid foundation at the back against the deadly Gladbach counter-attack, led by rising star Marco Reus.
Both teams have been impressive in recent times, and one can even say that Gladbach, who barely escaped relegation last season, are currently evenly matched with reigning champions Dortmund. Last season Jurgen Klopp's men left Borussia Park defeated, which many attributed to complacency, but there will be nothing of the sort on Saturday.
