For now, over and out. Enjoy your evening!

That's it from the Gerland. A rather turgid second half fails to put off the gloss in Lyon's second straight 'Olympico' win over Marseille who fall to the bottom of the table. Lyon pip Montpellier to top the standings after matchday six. Depressing times for the Provence club.

90′ +2
A rather drab second half is brought to a close. Full-time from the Stade Gerland, it's Lyon 2-0 Marseille!

90′
Two minutes of injury time signalled at the end of the second half.

90′
Gomis! The former Sainte man is threatening in the final stages. A sleek ball to the striker is on point, but Fanni cuts him out. Late charge by Les Gones.

89′
Lack of urgency by Didier Deschamps' side who are being frustrated by Lyon who keep hold of the ball to run down the clock. Gomis buys an easy free-kick off Fanni.

88′
Substitution by Lyon - Clement Grenier makes way for Mouhamdou Dabo.

87′
Substitution Clément Grenier Mouhamadou Dabo

86′
Lyon now attacking the visitors. Cissokho bombs down the left wing before being stopped in his tracks by Fanni. First real Lyon attack in more than 15 minutes.

83′
L'OM still in the phase of casually knocking it about in the Lyon half. Not much of an attacking threat offered in these final stages. Defeat may already be assured.

81′
Substitution Jimmy Briand Jérémy Pied

81′
Substitution Mathieu Valbuena Jordan Ayew

81′
Lyon make a change. It's Jeremy Pied on for Jimmy Briand.

80′
Last change from the visitors - it's Jordan Ayew on for Mathieu Valbuena, Can the younger Ayew inspire a comeback?

80′
Entering the final ten minutes now. Turning into a procession with Lyon doing well to frustrate Didier Deschamps' side. Still 2-0.

77′
Marseille do well to keep the control, and search out Djimi Traore on the left who could only cross the ball into Hugo Lloris. The French No.1 unworked tonight.

75′
Yellow Card Morgan Amalfitano

75′
Morgan Amalfitano the latest player in the book for the visitors.

73′
Marseille still penetrating the Lyon penalty box in search of a goal. In July, they were 3-1 down after 85 minutes against Lille, only to win 5-4 in 90 minutes. With this fixture producing goals in the past, I think we can see that happening no?

71′
A number of fouls in the last few minutes have punctuated the flow of the play. Benoit Cheyrou, the latest to win a free-kick. Still Lyon 2-0 Marseille.

68′
Substitution Kim Källström Gueida Fofana

68′
Gueida Fofana replaces Kim Kallstrom for the hosts.

68′
LUCHO!! Signal of intent from the former Porto captain. Picks up the ball inside the area before unleashing a low drive which flashes wide. Almost a goal, but I think Lloris had that covered.

65′
Game has died down a little as we've past the hour mark. Steve Mandanda collects the ball easily after a Lyon free-kick. 25 minutes to go.

63′
Yellow Card Lucho González

63′
Lucho Gonzalez is booked for a lunge on Clement Grenier.

61′
Again the visitors surge up the field in search of a badly-needed goal. And again, the Lyonnais defence is holding strong. Lovren and Kone have been both solid.

59′
Andre Ayew has an effort from distance saved easily by Lloris. The Ghanaian cut in from the flank well, but saw his tame effort fail to trouble the France no.1

57′
The hosts doing well to stifle Marseille and keep their front three at bay. Can't see where exactly Deschamps' charges can grab a goal, or two.

53′
L'OM firmly on the front foot now. And again, they've wasted a good chance. Amalfitano's introduction seems to be causing a lot of problems on the far side. His cross-cum-shot is saved by Lloris. Would've done better in searching out Remy.

52′
How did that not go in?! Goalmouth scramble in the Lyon penalty area after a threatening ball evades the defenders. Remy cannot quite force it past the line! Almost 2-1 there.

49′
Remy operates on the wing, and his deep cross is headed behind by Dejan Lovren. The resulting corner is wasted, and cleared.

48′
Better from the visitors, who are passing with conviction now. Ball from Valbeuna onto Remy is a bit heavy, and meets the hands of Lloris instead. Lone striker role isn't working effectively at all.

46′
Substitution Jérémy Morel André Ayew

46′
Substitution Alou Diarra Morgan Amalfitano

46′
Andre Ayew replaces Jeremy Morel. Ghanaian returns after two weeks out.

46′
Les Gones get us underway in this second period. One change for the visitors, Alou Diarra makes way for Morgan Amalfitano.

Impressive how Remi Garde has turned around Lyon's fortunes. Lack of major signings and a rift with former boss Claude Puel threatened to destabilise L'OL, especially with PSG's resurgance. OM on the other hand, have invested heavily, in defence and in midfield, but find themselves propping up near the bottom of the table.

Well that's it from the first half. Lyon are in a commanding position with goals from Bafetimbi Gomis (17) and Michel Bastos (26) putting them provisionally top of Ligue 1. What a contrast for OM, who lie bottom if this result stays as it is. They've offered little.

45′ +2
Laurent Duhamel calls time on a lively first half at the Stade Gerland. It's Lyon 2-0 Marseille.

45′ +1
Gomis goes down inside the box after a challenge from Fanni. Referee not giving a penalty. Would've been harsh to give that in any case.

45′
Two minutes signalled at the end of the first half by the fourth official.

44′
A despondent shake of the head by Didier Deschamps sums up the first-half performance for OM. Can they hit back in the second half? I'd love to hear your thoughts. Tweet me @mohammedali_93

43′
BASTOS! The Brazilian winger is tearing the left wing, and poor Cesar Azpilicueta apart. Picked up the ball near the halfway line and was allowed to roam for a good 50 yards until the by-line, where the number 11 shot straight at Mandanda.

40′
Crowd inside the Stade Gerland still at full voice. They're probably enjoying the capitulation of their Ligue 1 rivals. Marseille have been rather flat this half, stifled well by a resurgent Lyon.

37′
A rare foray in attack for the visitors. Mathieu Valbuena tees up Jeremy Morel who fires over.

35′
KALLSTROM! Free-kick to the hosts after Gonalons' fall outside the box. The set-piece is in a dangerous position, but the Swede fires high from about 25 metres.

34′
Almost 3-0 there for the hosts. Depressing times if you're an OM fan. Gomis latches on Briand's cross and his header is saved by Mandanda.

33′
What does this actually spell for Didier Deschamps? Talk of a sack is premature since the Marseille legend delivered two Coupe de La Ligues and one league trophy, with two Trophee des Champions successes. Nevertheless, Marseille lie currently bottom of Ligue 1!

30′
GREAT GOAL BY THE BRAZILIAN! Maxime Gonalons threads the ball to the left winger who gets in behind Azpilicueta and Fanni and after adventuring into the box, launches a low shot past Mandanda. LYON 2-0 MARSEILLE!!

29′
Assist Maxime Gonalons

29′
Goal Michel Fernandes Bastos

29′
BASTOS!! 2-0 LYON!!!!!!!!!

28′
OH! Close from Lyon! Threatening free kick, and Briand's effort is blocked and cleared.

28′
Rash challenge by the France captain on Grenier. Shrugs his shoulders at the challenge. Still 1-0.

27′
Yellow Card Alou Diarra

27′
Alou Diarra picks up a yellow card for the visitors.

25′
And Gonalons is next to pick up a knock for the hosts. Rushed into a challenge with Loic Remy and came out worse. Remy looks odds-on to pick up a yellow card with a combative performance thus far.

23′
To be fair to Remi Garde's side, they've come out of the starting blocks with the right mentality. Clement Grenier looks to be adapting to his role brilliantly. The 20 year old may be a fixture in the first team in the future. Do you agree? Tweet me @mohammedali_93

21′
LUCHO! Half-chance for El Commandante. A speculative ball is latched on by Remy. The former Nice man lobs the ball over two unsuspecting defenders before Lucho heads wide of Lloris' left post. Rushed, that.

20′
And again Bastos is away on the flank before being stopped in his tracks by Rod Fanni. L'OM haven't looked threatening in this game. Their 4-4-1-1 formation looks to be confusing them. Not playing through Lucho, but not exactly placing emphasis on the wings either.

18′
Nicely worked goal by Lyon, and Marseille fail to cope with their attacking arsenal on the flanks. Michel Bastos picks up the ball before searing past Cesar Azpilicueta. The ball from the Brazilian is perfect for Gomis who gets in behind the defence to finish off the cross in style! LYON 1-0 MARSEILLE!

17′
Assist Michel Fernandes Bastos

17′
Goal Bafetimbi Gomis

17′
GOMIS!!!! LYON ARE AHEAD 1-0!!

16′
Loic Remy is penalised for a push on Sidy Kone. Fouls becoming prevalent now. Lack of much attacking play in the last few minutes.

14′
Laurent Duhamel stops play after a foul on Bafetimbi Gomis. The former Sainte man stayed down despite play continuing. Alou Diarra's tackle had caused the striker's knock. Marseille aren't best pleased at the stoppage of play.

13′
Kallstrom is back on the field after receiving medical attention. Meanwhile, Loic Remy fails to control a loose ball after pressure from Dejan Lovren.

11′
Kim Kallstrom is down after challenging Lucho for a ball. The Swede looks to be in a bit of pain.

9′
Both sides have settled into a passing rhythym. End-to-end it may have begun, but we're beginning to see a lot of constructive play now.

6′
Jimmy Briand has a pop from distance after a pass from Grenier, High wide, and not handsome at all.

5′
Bafetimbi Gomis! The Lyon man's shot is saved by Steve Mandanda. Meanwhile, Marseille have a corner, conceded by Aly Cissokho.

4′
It's the visitors who parade forward now. Jeremy Morel bombs down the left flank teeing up Lucho. The Argentine's pass to Remy is heavy, and trickles to Lloris instead.

2′
Corner to Lyon, and Grenier delivers in a dangerous ball. Mandanda forced to punch away, but it's cleared.

1′
Early pressure from the hosts, with Aly Cissokho sending a threatening ball from the left flank. Souleymane Diawara clears behind.

1′
Referee Laurent Duhamel gets us underway. Lyon in their white home kit, Marseille in their impressive blue. L'OM from right to left.

A fantastic atmosphere inside the Gerland for tonight's "Choc des Olympiques". The teams are out, should be getting underway soon!

23% of Goal.com readers think that the match tonight will end in a 2-1 victory over the hosts. A paltry 7% believe OM can secure a much-needed victory tonight. Can they prevail?

Can Marseille win their first league match of the season? Or can Lyon top the Ligue 1 table at this early stage with a win? Kick off not too far away.

Didier Deschamps has made one change from the side that ground out a 1-0 win over Olympiakos in the Champions League last Tuesday. Morgan Amalfitano is replaced by Mathieu Valbuena. Andre Pierre Gignac is out with an abdominal problem, whilst Andre Ayew only makes the bench. Remi Garde's men are unchanged from the side that drew with Ajax, with one change from their 2-1 win in Dijon last weekend. Clement Grenier was impressive in midweek, and keeps out Jeremy Pied in the starting XI.

So tonight's teams are in: LYON line up as thus: Lloris, Cissokho, Lovren, Kone, Revelliere, Kallstrom, Gonalons, Bastos, Briand, Gomis, Grenier. MARSEILLE: Mandanda, Traore, Diawara, Fanni, Azpilicueta, Cheyrou, Diarra, Morel, Valbuena, Lucho, Remy.

Let's hope for more of the same tonight then. What do you think tonight's game will conjure up? Send me your predictions via Twitter to @mohammedali_93. Well, previous encounters between the two have only gone and produced classics! Last time these two rivals met in the league in May. Lyon nudged Marseille 3-2 to put Didier Deschamps' men in smoke. They also did the same thing in May 2009. The standout clash of recent times however, must be the 5-5 draw played out in this fixture in 2009. Les Gones took a 2-1 lead early on before OM rallied back to lead 4-2. A brace from Lisandro and a strike from Michel Bastos in the 90th minute looked to have finally put a crazy game to bed. That is, before Jeremy Toulalan's 93rd minute own goal meant the game ended in a staggering 5-5 draw. Breathe.

Good evening folks. Mohammed Ali here, and welcome to Goal.com's LIVE commentary of tonight's Ligue 1 clash. It's a big one, the 'Olympico' between Olympique Lyon and Olympique de Marseille from Stade Gerland on matchday six. Should be a cracker, no?
