    Ron-Robert Zieler

Had no chance for Kagawa's wonder goal, but generally did well. Pulled off a very good save to deny Perisic in the first half and controlled his area with authority.

Karim Haggui Top of the Match

Great performance by the defender, who should have scored more than once after hitting the bar shortly before his strike. Aside from few minor accidents, he was rock-solid at the back.

  • Emanuel Pogatetz

    Emanuel Pogatetz

At fault for Kagawa's strike as he failed to stop the Japanese from turning and slotting past the goalkeeper. Had some troubles with Kuba early on, but generally did well in defence.

  • Sofian Chahed

    2.50

    Sofian Chahed

Had his fair share of problems with Perisic early on, but improved as the game progressed. Was not much of a threat down the flank.

    Christian Pander

The ex-Schalke man showed great delivery from set-pieces and was a useful addition to every Hannover attack. Was a bit shaky in defence, but improved as the game progressed.

  • Henning Hauger

    Henning Hauger

The 26-year-old had a decent game in the centre of the pitch, distributing the ball well, and hassling the opposition. Showed some great touches.

  • Moritz Stoppelkamp

    3.50

    Moritz Stoppelkamp

Had minimal impact in the first half, but was a genuine threat down the flank. It was no coincidence that both of Hannover's goals came from his wing as his intelligent runs wreaked havoc.

  • Lars Stindl
    1
    0
    3.00

    Lars Stindl

Showed much running, but his performance was a struggle in terms of final product. Most of the time he was helpless against Piszczek, and failed to come up with a plan to breach the left flank.

  • Manuel Schmiedebach

    2.50

    Manuel Schmiedebach

Had a so-so game as he found himself bullied in the centre of the pitch at times. Offered much running, but never really managed to limit Gundogan's efficiency.

  • Didier Ya Konan

    Didier Ya Konan

Inspirational injury-time strike by the Ivorian. Did not really steal the headlines before his goal, but managed to secure the three points with a majestic volley.

  • Jan Schlaudraff

    Jan Schlaudraff

The ex-Bayern Munich man occasionally found himself helpless against Hummels, and failed to offer much of a threat until the defender was withdrawn. Showed a lot of pace, and some nice touches.

    Roman Weidenfeller

Caught by surprise once in the first half, but luckily for him Subotic was there to bail him out. Could have probably done better for Haggui's goal, and will generally be disappointed by his performance.

  • Neven Subotic

    Neven Subotic

The Serbian had his fair share of shaky moments, but generally did well until his partner was substituted. However, failed to track down Haggui, and suffered some other lapses of concentration.

  • Mats Hummels

It goes to show how important he is to Borussia Dortmund as once he left the pitch, his team completely crumbled in a defensive sense. Showed great marking, anticipation and positioning.

The Brazilian is obviously lacking match practice as he started the game looking awkward and rusty. Improved as the game progressed as he threaded a few great passes and hassled the opposition.

  • Ivan Perisic

    Kevin Großkreutz

Shocking cameo as his finishing cost his team. Could have scored with a clear chance, but send his finish over the bar from seven yards out.
