  • Full-time at Goodison Park. Arsenal run out 2-1 winners over Everton thanks to goals from Sagna and Fabregas. The Toffees looked to get back into it with Cahill’s late goal, but it wasn’t enough as they couldn’t find an equaliser. Arsenal deserve their win and move up to second in the Premier League table. Thanks for joining today and be sure to stick around for all the post-match reaction.

Nasri is in possession down the left but inadvertently gives away a throw-in. Not long left for an Everton goal now…
  • 90' + 2'
Pienaar slides a nice little pass into the path on the onrushing Coleman on the right side of the Arsenal area. The youngster can’t reach it as Rosicky shepherds the ball out of play, but he picks up a booking for his troubles after having a pop at the assistant referee.

    Yellow Card Seamus Coleman
  • 90'
Late change for Arsenal as Eboue replaces Chamakh. Four minutes of added time…

GOAL!! CAHILL SETS UP A TENSE FINISH! Just a minute after Fabianski pulls off another great save from Saha, Pienaar’s cross from the left is nodded back into the area by Saha. Cahill is slowly closed down by Chamakh and manages to get a foot in to stab the ball home from close range. Game on!
  • 86'
Everton earn a free-kick in a promising position on the left as Sagna brings down Saha. The centre-backs are forward, but Pienaar’s inswinging cross is poor and sails out of play. Baines then looks to create a chance for his side as he drills a left-footed ball in from the left, but Yakubu, who is offside, can’t convert and Fabianski gathers at his post.
  • 84'
ANOTHER STOP FROM FABIANSKI! Pienaar tries to pull a goal back as he lets fly from the edge of the area with a fierce strike, but Fabianski is equal to it as he palms the ball out in front of him before Djourou clears.
  • 82'
BECKFORD WITH AN OPPORTUNITY! The striker rather fortunately controls the ball on the edge of the area after it’s played long downfield. He then turns well, although Squillaci doesn’t get tight enough to him, and curls the ball right-footed towards the bottom right-hand corner. But Fabianski does well to dive across to his left and tip the ball wide to keep his side’s two-goal advantage.
  • 80'
Everton can’t seem to find a way back into this game, if they do it looks as though Coleman will provide the spark. If the score stays the same it’s still an improvement on last season, when they lost 6-1 on the opening day to a dominant Arsenal at Goodison Park.
  • 78'
The impressive Coleman storms forward down the right wing again and drills the ball across the face of goal looking for a team-mate. He can only find Song, who slides the ball out of play for a corner, which comes to nothing.
  • 76'
Slight breakdown in communication for Everton. Beckford, scorer of a magnificent equaliser for the Toffees against Bolton Wanderers in midweek, isn’t on the same wavelength as Pienaar as he fails to latch onto the South African’s pass with a darting run in the wrong direction.
  • 74'
Baines checks inside from the left and tries to find the run of Beckford on the edge of the Arsenal box. Squillaci is there to race in front of the former Leeds United man to intercept, though, and the Gunners come clear with the ball.
  • 72'
Everton look to set an attack going through Rodwell in the centre of midfield. However, the youngster is put under pressure by Denilson and passes the ball straight out of play when looking for the feet of Baines.
  • 70'
There are them changes, as Yakubu and Beckford replace Neville and Arteta. Coleman will switch to right-back and it seems Everton may change to a 4-3-3, although Yakubu has begun down the left-hand side.
  • 69'
    SubstitutionPhil Neville Jermaine Beckford
  • 69'
    SubstitutionMikel Amatrian Arteta Yakubu Aiyegbeni
  • 68'
Looks like Everton are going to make a couple of changes of their own in a minute. Strikers Yakubu and Beckford are both on the touchline and are ready to enter the fray. A change of approach it would seem then for David Moyes, with the Scot likely to switch to a 4-4-2.
  • 66'
    SubstitutionAndrey Arshavin Tomas Rosicky
  • 66'
Second change of the game for Arsenal now. Arshavin makes way, and it’s Tomas Rosicky who comes on in his place. Straight swap and Rosicky will line up on the left side of the three-man attack.
  • 64'
CLAIMS FOR AN EVERTON PENALTY! Pienaar cuts the ball back into the area after a run down the right and picks out Saha just inside the area. The Frenchman’s effort on goal is deflected away by Song. It looks as though the midfielder may have used his arm to divert it away but it’s not intentional if he does.
  • 62'
MISS OF THE SEASON!?!? Nasri plays the ball inside to Fabregas just inside the Everton area. The Spaniard then picks out the unmarked Chamakh six yards out, but he somehow manages to miscue his effort over the bar with the goal gaping. Bizarre miss…
  • 60'
GREAT RUN FROM NASRI! Chamakh lays the ball off to Nasri and Arsenal launch a quick counter-attack. The Frenchman races clear of the Everton defence Michael Owen style against Argentina but he can’t find the finish, firing his right-footed shot straight at Howard.
  • 58'
Fabregas receives a pass and looks to shield the ball from Coleman. The Everton youngster slides in with a scissors challenge, though, and manages to nick the ball off the Spaniard as well as bringing him down. There’s no malice in the tackle and Howard Webb keeps his cards in his pocket.
  • 56'
RODWELL MISSES FROM CLOSE RANGE! Pienaar drifts into the area and nobody tracks his run. He receives the pass from Coleman and slides the ball into the box for Rodwell to have a pop at goal. However, the youngster can only miscue his effort over the bar from 12 yards.
  • 54'
There’s a break in play as Fabregas catches Distin with a late challenge. Similar to his challenge on Wolves’ Stephen Ward in midweek, only nowhere near as bad. The Spaniard stays down for a long spell before eventually returning to the action. There are calls for a red card but Howard Webb only hands out a yellow.
  • 53'
    Yellow Card Cesc Fàbregas
  • 51'
RED CARD FOR SQUILLACI? NO SAYS HOWARD WEBB! The Frenchman goes in late on Saha as he looks to block the striker’s run on goal 25 yards out. Webb awards a free-kick but Coleman races through and slots the ball past Fabianski, which doesn’t count as Webb had already blown his whistle. Squillaci could quite easily be given his marching orders, but Webb only hands out a yellow. Baines’ resulting free-kick is claimed by Fabianski to his left.
  • 50'
    Yellow Card Sébastien Squillaci
  • 49'
GOAL!! FABREGAS DOUBLES ARSENAL'S LEAD!! Denilson does well on the edge of the area and Chamakh is found on the right side of the Everton box. The Moroccan casually plays the ball through the legs of Pienaar and Fabregas is there to rifle in the second past Howard. Great little move from the Gunners, and they lead 2-0.
  • 48'
    Assist Marouane Chamakh
  • 48'
    Goal Cesc Fàbregas
  • 47'
Denilson uses quick feet down on the Arsenal right to draw a foul from Neville, but Webb waves play on as Fabregas emerges with the ball. The Spain international can’t get a move going, though, but is presented with a chance moments later. He has a pot-shot at goal from outside area but, with not a lot of people in support, Howard easily claims to his right.
  • 46'
    SubstitutionJack Wilshere Denilson
  • 46'
    SubstitutionJohn Heitinga Jack Rodwell
  • 46'
Arsenal kick us off for the second half after a long delay for an unknown reason. Just one change for Everton at the break, with Jack Rodwell coming on in the place of John Heitinga. Possibly an injury to the Dutchman, or perhaps David Moyes can’t risk his side going down to 10 men. A change for Arsenal as well, as Denilson replaces Jack Wilshere in the centre of midfield.
  • Half-time at Goodison Park, and it’s Arsenal who have the advantage. It’s been a fairly even game despite the visitors’ lead. Sagna’s goal is difference between the two sides, but Everton have had chances through Cahill and Saha, and they could have had a free-kick in a good position had Howard Webb penalised Song’s challenge on Pienaar moments before the break.
  • 45' + 1'
CHANCE FOR EVERTON! A corner is swung in from the left and finds Saha at the far post. The Frenchman nods the ball towards goal and looks set to equalise for the hosts. However, after Fabianski is caught in no man’s land, the ball takes a deflection off him at his near post, rattles off the post and is eventually cleared. Huge let off for Arsenal, there.
  • 45'
Claims for an Everton free-kick in a dangerous area are turned down by Howard Webb. Pienaar breaks forward and looks to jink in between two Arsenal defenders, but he is brought down after a barge from Song. Webb waves play on though, much to the frustration of the home support. One minute of added time in this first half…
  • 43'
Everton work the ball forward well and manage to win a corner as the ball deflects wide, despite Fabianski’s best attempts to keep it in play. The set-piece comes to nothing, though, as Chamakh is in the right place to hammer the ball away.
  • 41'
Great chant from the Everton supporters as Song is in possession - “One Song, you’ve only got one Song!” I’m sure the Cameroonian is fed up of hearing that at away grounds, but a nice touch nevertheless.
  • 39'
First blood to Arsenal, then, and they deserve their lead as well. Arsene Wenger’s side had been knocking on the door with a number of attacks and have finally got their reward - albeit through a very unlikely source. He took his goal well though, Sagna, hammering it home from close range.
  • 37'
GOAL!! ARSENAL TAKE THE LEAD!! IT’S A SHOCK GOALSCORER - BACARY SAGNA!! After Nasri has his effort palmed away by Howard, Arshavin picks up possession on the right side of the Everton area. The Russian lays the ball off to Sagna, who has roamed forward from full-back, and the defender rifles the ball right-footed past Howard at his near post to grab just his second goal for the club!
  • 36'
    Assist Andrey Arshavin
  • 36'
    Goal Bacary Sagna
  • 35'
Song, just like Heitinga earlier on in the game, is given a talking to by Howard Webb for repetitive fouling. Heitinga responded by promptly picking up a booking, Song responds by lashing a left-footed strike over the bar from 25 yards out.
  • 33'
Nasri picks out the run of Fabregas, who escapes his marker, Pienaar, inside the Everton area. The World Cup winner then slides the ball back into the area looking for a team-mate but nobody is there to provide the finish as Everton clear.
  • 31'
Neville launches the ball forward to Cahill who, from an offside position, nods the ball on to the advancing Coleman on the right. However, Webb pulls play back and correctly awards the free-kick to Arsenal.
  • 29'
Saha makes his first real impact in the game as the ball falls kindly to him 25 yards out. The Frenchman turns nicely to open up space for a shot at goal but his left-footed effort curls over the bar. Again, the Arsenal defence are slow in closing him down, but Fabianski would have been expected to make a save from that distance if it had been on target.
  • 27'
And there it is… Heitinga picks up a booking. Just a few moments after being warned by Howard Webb, the midfielder bundles Wilshere to ground. The least malicious of the three challenges he has made, but he had been told to cool it down.
  • 26'
    Yellow Card John Heitinga
  • 25'
Howard Webb has a quick word with John Heitinga, the man he sent off in the World Cup final, as the Dutchman puts in a robust challenge on Arshavin. The Arsenal man doesn’t make too much of it but Heitinga can consider his card well and truly marked.
  • 23'
Sagna plays the ball inside to Wilshere on the halfway line after a number of Arsenal passes around the defence. Cahill is there to intercept, however, as he puts in an inch-perfect slide tackle to clear the ball away.
  • 21'
GREAT MOVE FROM ARSENAL! Arshavin Fabregas, Chamakh and Nasri are all involved on the left side of the Everton area and Wilshere is presented with an opportunity just inside the box. The youngster is then left to go it alone but can’t find an opening as he is crowded out in the area.
  • 19'
Another chance for Arshavin now. The former Zenit star cuts inside from the left and looks to catch Howard out with a pot-shot from the edge of the area. But the tricky forward’s effort is off target and sails over the bar.
  • 17'
ARSHAVIN FIRES WIDE! The ball loops up into the air on the edge of the Everton area and Wilshere wins the challenge with Heitinga, who was lucky not to be booked a moment ago for a couple of unnecessary kicks on Song, to lay the ball off to Arshavin. Neither Jagielka or Distin can close the Russian down quick enough, but his fierce strike curls wide of Howard’s right-hand post.
  • 15'
Just a minute after Wilshere stays down after a slight collision with Cahill, Song looks to pick out Nasri on the right side of the Everton area. However, the midfielder’s through-ball is cut out by Baines, who clears the danger.
  • 13'
Coleman races past Fabregas down the right and arrives in the penalty area with options in the centre. He chips a wonderful cross onto the head of the unmarked Cahill in the box but the Australian can only direct his header wide of the far post. Great work from Coleman, but the Arsenal defence were all over the place!
  • 11'
Saha does well to turn on the edge of the Arsenal area and he clips a left-footed ball in towards Coleman arriving at the far post. However, Clichy is there to head the ball over the youngster and Arsenal hit Everton on the counter-attack. Song wins a challenge on the halfway line and sets Nasri away in plenty of space in the Toffees’ half. But Distin is there to put in a block and divert the ball away as the Frenchman fires at goal from 18 yards out.
  • 9'
Coleman tries to jink inside from the right but is brought to ground by the trailing leg of Clichy 25 yards out. Arteta is given free-kick duties in favour of Baines but the Spaniard can only rifle his right-footed strike into the Arsenal wall.
  • 7'
Pienaar receives the ball just inside the Arsenal half and looks to set an attack going. But he lacks support and in the end gives away possession after finally finding a return pass over on the right wing.
  • 5'
Jagielka launches a long right-footed pass over towards the onrushing Coleman down the right. Clichy manages to intercept and clear for a throw-in, which causes problems as Squillaci heads wide for a corner. Cahill and Saha have a communication failure as the ball comes in, however, and the move breaks down.
  • 3'
Late challenge from Pienaar. Sagna is in possession just inside his own half down the right and tries to shield the ball away from Pienaar. The South African comes in with a poorly-times slide tackle and clatters into the right-back, conceding a free-kick. Howard Webb is lenient, though, and decides not to book the Everton man.

The minute’s silence for Remembrance Sunday has taken place, and Everton get us underway at Goodison Park.
  • Meanwhile Arsenal, who are without Nicklas Bendtner with a “medical problem”, Arsene Wenger confirmed before the match, begin with Samir Nasri on the right side of a three-pronged attack, meaning Theo Walcott has to settle for a place on the bench.
  • No major surprises with the Everton line-up, then. Seamus Coleman is given the nod down the right wing ahead of Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, John Heitinga plays the holding role in midfield and Louis Saha is preferred to Jermaine Beckford in attack.
  • Arsenal line-up: Fabianski; Sagna, Squillaci, Djourou, Clichy; Fabregas, Song, Wilshere; Nasri, Chamakh, Arshavin. Subs: Szczesny, Eboue, Gibbs, Rosicky, Walcott, Denilson, Van Persie.
  • Here is the team news - Everton line-up: Howard; Neville, Jagielka, Distin, Baines; Coleman, Heitinga, Arteta, Pienaar; Cahill; Saha. Subs: Mucha, Hibbert, Bilyaletdinov, Rodwell, Beckford, Gueye, Yakubu.
