FULL-TIME. TOTTENHAM 1-4 ARSENAL. Arsenal took the lead in the first half of normal time through Lansbury before Tottenham equalised thanks to Keane's equaliser. The hosts then capitalised after Spurs conceded two penalties, with Nasri tucking them both away. Arshavin made it 4-1 with an emphatic finish to lead the Gunners to victory. Thanks for joining tonight.
  • 118'
Not long left at White Hart Lane. A miserable end to a game that had promised to be a tough encounter in extra time.
  • 116'
PAVLYUCHENKO FIRES OVER! The Russian drifts out to the left once again and skims Djourou for what must be the fourth time in this match. He then looks to bend the ball into the far corner but his curling right-footed effort escapes the goal and sails wide.
  • 113'
His team may be running away with the game now, but Arsene Wenger still look to be issuing instructions! The Frenchman is in discussions with his right-hand men around him who are no doubt about to rush a message down to the bench.
  • 111'
Harry Redknapp doesn't look happy at all after seeing his side collapse in extra time. Spurs had the better of the play in spells of the second half of normal time too.
  • 108'
That's it. Tottenham fans leaving en masse now after Arshavin's superbly struck left-foot drive gives Arsenal their third goal in the first period of extra time. 4-1 up. Surely all over now.
  • 106'
Second half of extra time gets underway...
  • 105' + 1'
The referee blows for half-time in extra time and Spurs will not be happy with the events over the last 15 minutes. Keane went close to grabbing a goal on the stroke of half-time when he struck goalwards from close range but Nasri was there to block and clear the danger.
  • 105'
    Goal Andrey Arshavin
  • 104'
GOAL!! ARSHAVIN MAKES IT 4-1!! IT'S ALL OVER!! A quick free-kick from Wilshere tricks Kyle Naughton and the Spurs full-back can't get back quick enough to catch up with Arshavin on the edge of the area. The Russian then takes a touch and smashes a fierce strike into the bottom right-hand corner. That's some turnaround from Arsenal in this first period of extra time!
  • 102'
    SubstitutionKieran Gibbs Gael Clichy
  • 102'
ARSHAVIN CAUSES PROBLEMS! The Russian dribbles with the ball on the left side of the Spurs area and drills the ball low across the face of goal. The Tottenham defence struggle to deal with it and Chamakh looks to stab the ball past Pletikosa, but he can't get enough on it and the ball escapes the Moroccan.
  • 100'
TERRIBLE MISS FROM BENTLEY! The Tottenham midfielder meets a cross from the right at the far post, but the unmarked former England international somehow manages to direct his weak header wide of the post from just a few yards out. Poor marking from Arsenal, but a worse header from Bentley.
  • 98'
Arsenal 3-1 ahead after second penalty in minutes then. After the otherwise impressive debutant Caulker hauled back Chamakh, Nasri was cool as you like again and sent Pletikosa the wrong way.
  • 96'
    SubstitutionSandro Niko Kranjcar
  • 96'
GOAL!! NASRI SCORES FROM THE SPOT AGAIN!! Caulker gives away another penalty after pulling the shirt of Chamakh. Nasri then steps up again to slide the ball into the bottom right-hand corner to extend Arsenal’s lead. 3-1 to the Gunners!
  • 96'
    Penalty Goal Samir Nasri
  • 94'
Nasri was brought down after a clever Arshavin dink outfoxed Spurs defence and the midfielder stepped up to tuck the penalty away with aplomb. Rosicky, were you watching?
  • 92'
GOAL!! NASRI PUTS ARSENAL AHEAD! The Frenchman coolly slots the ball into the corner of the goal, sending Pletikosa the wrong way. Not a dubious decision to award the penalty, Bassong didn't look to shocked when it was given, but you have seen referees wave them ones away.
  • 92'
    Penalty Goal Samir Nasri
  • 91'
PENALTY TO ARSENAL! Nasri looks to latch onto a lofted through ball into the area and is tugged to ground by Bassong. Nasri to take...
  • 90' + 3'
90 MINUTES OVER... EXTRA TIME AWAITS. TOTTENHAM 1-1 ARSENAL. Tottenham came back into the game in the second half, with the introduction of Keane proving vital after he equalised shortly after the break. Arsenal have still looked dangerous too and we could be in for a hotly-contested extra time period.
  • 90' + 2'
After a scramble in the area which eventually sees Spurs get the ball clear, Nasri, Arshavin and Gibbs combine before the latter finds Wilshere 25 yards out. He picks out the run of Eboue on the right but his weak shot is deflected to Pletikosa by his centre-back Bassong.
  • 90'
Just moments after Chamakh does brilliantly to hold the ball up in the area before failing to pick out a team-mate, Denilson powers a right-footed strike from the edge of the area at goal. The Brazilian's effort is miles better than his last but Pletikosa is equal to it and parries the ball away. Three minutes of added time at White Hart Lane...
  • 88'
Nasri holds the ball up well on the left side of the Spurs area before laying the ball off to Denilson 25 yards out. The Brazilian tries an ambitious right-footed strike towards the far corner but it flies well wide of the goal and nearly goes out for a throw-in.
  • 86'
Spurs have been far more effective since the break, pressing Arsenal and getting more of a grip with midfield. Keane and Lennon have energised them and they look capable of getting a winner now. Lansbury has a chance to score the winner with a strike from the edge of the area but it floats into the arms of Pletikosa.
  • 83'
KEANE STRIKES THE POST! Sandro tries to burst forward to find an opening down the left but is brought to ground by Lansbury, who picks up a yellow card. Bentley whips in an inviting inswinging free-kick towards the far post and Keane meets it before side-footing the ball against the near post. The Irishman is ruled offside in any case, but it was a great run to reach the cross.
  • 82'
    Yellow Card Henri Lansbury
  • 81'
Bentley looks to grab a goal against his former club from the resulting free-kick but sees his curling right-footed effort fall into the arms of the grateful Fabianski.
  • 79'
    Yellow Card Laurent Koscielny
  • 79'
Sandro goes down under the challenge of Chamakh inside the Spurs half and clutches his leg as he returns to the action. The hosts then launch an attack through the centre of the pitch and Pavlyuchenko tries to find the run of Keane, who beats the offside trap. Koscielny then drags the Irishman back to give away a free-kick 25 yards out and he correctly receives a booking.
  • 77'
Wilshere tries to find Chamakh 25 yards out but the ball escapes the Moroccan and Caulker intercepts before firing downfield. Gibbs then receives the ball but Arsenal fail to carve out an opporunity after attempting another attack.
  • 75'
Great play from Lennon. Arshavin looks to turn with his back to goal on the edge of the Spurs area but is made to look a fool by Lennon. The winger nicks the ball off him in the Tottenham right-back position before keeping the ball in play, sliding it through the legs of Arshavin and races round the other side of him to latch onto it.
  • 73'
    SubstitutionCarlos Vela Andrey Arshavin
  • 73'
    SubstitutionTomas Rosicky Marouane Chamakh
  • 73'
Two changes for Arsenal now. Rosicky hands the armband to Nasri as he is replaced by Arshavin and Chamakh comes in the place of Vela.
  • 71'
GREAT CHALLENGE FROM KOSCIELNY!! Lennon manages to escape his marker Gibbs to latch onto a through ball 18 yards out. The flying winger looks to have a free run on goal and shapes to shoot from close range with only Fabianski to beat. However, Koscielny sprints back to slide the ball out for a corner with a last-ditch challenge. Excellent defending from the Frenchman.
  • 69'
Pavlyuchenko drifts out to the left and skips past Djourou again. He then drives the ball low towards the edge of the area looking for the run of Sandro, who arrives late to meet the ball. The Brazilian can't quite latch onto it though as Koscielny puts in a good block to divert the ball away.
  • 67'
Wenger struggling to communicate with his bench here. Pat Rice has had to turn around, whistle and shout on a few occasions. Wenger looks like he is texting on his mobile, presumably to the bench. Or is he just updating his Twitter account?
  • 65'
Arsenal earn a free-kick after Robbie Keane barges into his marker just inside his own half. The resulting free-kick is played short and knocked out wide to the left by Denilson. He gets it all wrong though, and smashes the ball out of play for a throw-in.
  • 62'
VELA HEADS OVER!! Rosicky receives a pass 25 yards out on the left of the Spurs area after good work from Lansbury and Nasri. The midfielder then whips a terrific right-footed cross over to Vela at the far post, who escapes his marker Bassong, before flicking his header wide of the top right-hand corner. Bit of a waste there, but he couldn't have expected to meet the ball as Bassong looked certain to head clear.
  • 60'
Vela finds Eboue to his right who bursts forward. The Ivorian receives the pass 30 yards out and dribbles with the ball to the 18-yard line but can only fire his right-footed shot into the side-netting from a narrow angle.
  • 58'
Bassong plays Sandro into danger with a weak pass to the Brazilian in midfield. Nasri gets in front of the newcomer and intercepts before attempting to find the onrushing Vela on the edge of the area, but Caulker intervenes with a well-timed tackle to slide the ball out of play.
  • 56'
Arsenal earn a free-kick in a promising position for the left foot of Vela 25 yards out. The Mexican is given free-kick duties ahead of Nasri and Rosicky and looks to curl the ball fiercely into the top right-hand corner. The shot has too much pace on it though and flies over the bar.
  • 54'
Assou-Ekotto somewhat fortunately escapes with the ball at left-back following a stumble. He then plays the ball into the midfield, where Sandro tries to find a team-mate down on the right, but the move breaks down after a clearance downfield.
  • 52'
Scores level after Robbie Keane makes it 1-1. A hint of offside and the scuffed shot squirmed miserably under Fabianski's body. The Arsenal number two could - and should - have saved that.
  • 50'
GOAL!! KEANE MAKES AN IMMEDIATE IMPACT!! Naughton drifts forward from right-back and plays a through ball into the feet of Robbie Keane on the edge of the area. The Irishman has nobody around him, with the Arsenal defence thinking the referee is going to give an offside, but he doesn't. He then slots a weak right-footed shot to the left of Fabianski and into the bottom right-hand corner. Terrible goalkeeping from the Pole, and Keane was marginally offside as he took control of the ball. He won't care though! 1-1!
  • 49'
    Goal Robbie Keane
  • 48'
Pavlyuchenko sweeps the ball out wide to Assou-Ekotto on the left. The full-back then drives the ball into the area but it escapes everyone and runs all the way down to the corner flag. Spurs try and keep the move alive but Arsenal clear the danger.
  • 46'
    SubstitutionGiovani dos Santos Robbie Keane
  • 46'
    SubstitutionJake Livermore Aaron Lennon
  • 46'
Tottenham kick us off for the second half. Two changes from Spurs at the break. Aaron Lennon is on in the place of Jake Livermore and Robbie Keane has replaced Giovani.
  • 45' + 2'
HALF-TIME. TOTTENHAM 0-1 ARSENAL. Half-time and Arsenal deservedly lead 1-0. Kyle Naughton was lucky to stay on the pitch after scything down Tomas Rosicky, who began hobbling thereafter. Will be a surprise if the notoriously fragile Czech reappears after the break. The last thing Wenger needs is another name to add to the injury list. However, some great stuff by the visitors. Their formation looks slicker and Wilshere has been superb.
  • 45'
Two minutes of added time at White Hart Lane...
  • 44'
Pavlyuchenko attempts to latch onto a pass just inside the Arsenal area but is stopped in his tracks by Djourou, who slides the ball away, bringing the Russian down in the process. Definitely not a penalty despite the appeals. Naughton then shows how to foul properly by clipping the ankle of Rosicky as he looks to break forward, leaving the referee with little choice but to book him.
  • 43'
    Yellow Card Kyle Naughton
  • 42'
Arsenal in almost complete control at White Hart Lane. Jack Wilshere running the midfield. The Arsenal away fans - as opposed to the relatively subdued home support - in fine voice. Wilshere getting his name sung and a few anti-Spurs songs, especially the amusing 'Lasagne-gate' one, harking back to the last day of the 2005-06 season.
  • 40'
Gibbs is through on goal... but ruled offside. Wilshere plays a great pass through the Tottenham defence looking for the run of the roaming Gibbs on the left. The Arsenal full-back latches onto his team-mates through ball and is all set to round Pletikosa before tapping the ball home, but is wrongly called offside by Lee Probert.
  • 38'
The ball falls kindly to Djourou at centre-back and he takes a touch to break forward just over the halfway line. Pavlyuchenko then inexplicably hacks the defender down! The challenge is right underneath the nose of referee Lee Probert, who hands him a yellow card.
  • 37'
    Yellow Card Roman Pavlyuchenko
  • 36'
Wilshere, Nasri and Rosicky do a good job of keeping hold on possession in the centre of the pitch but can't find an opening. Tottenham seem quite happy at times to let them keep the ball as long as they are not in the final third.
  • 34'
Arsenal look to get in behind the Spurs defence by exploiting Kyle Naughton down the left. Rosicky skips the ball infield to Denilson, who then plays the return pass to the onrushing Czech just inside the penalty area. Denilson's pass a little underhit and he can only find Naughton, who promptly clears.
  • 32'
Arsenal look to set another attack going with a number of passes in midfield. Denilson then tries to find Rosicky 15 yards to his left but misplaces it horribly to Livermore, who intercepts and helps Tottenham regain possession.
  • 30'
Pavlyuchenko somehow manages to barge his way down the right wing despite the challenge of Gibbs, and the attempted harrying of Koscielny. He then looks to pick out a team-mate in the centre but sees his ball into the area float over the crossbar.
  • 28'
PAVLYUCHENKO WITH A CHANCE! The Russian capitalises on some sloppy Arsenal defending and checks onto his right foot on the edge of the area. He then takes another touch and tries to beat Fabianski at his near post with a low strike, but it sails just wide of the goal.
  • 26'
Rosicky is at the heart of the attack again but can only see his fierce right-footed strike deflect round the post for a corner. The resulting set-piece almost finds Koscielny at the near post but Spurs manage to clear.
  • 24'
Arsenal are dominating at the moment. Rosicky jinks his way down the left side of the Spurs area and looks to cut the ball back towards a team-mate. He can't quite manage it though, and the Tottenhem defence can hack the ball clear.
  • 22'
Cracking atmosphere at White Hart Lane. Arsene Wenger is sat in the second row of the directors' box flanked either side by Arsenal first-team coach Boro Primorac and reserve team boss Neil Banfield. Le Boss is allowed to give the half-time team talk, just not allowed to go to the touchline. The goal was well received by Wenger in the directors box. Clearly it was a move that was nurtured by teenagers Wilshere and Lansbury at academy/reserve level as Wenger and Banfield were laughing about it and were about to high five before settling for a manly hand shake instead.
  • 22'
    Yellow Card Jake Livermore
  • 19'
BENTLEY WITH A STRIKE!! The former England international cuts inside with ease past Djourou from the left and looks to find the top right-hand corner with a fierce right-footed strike. However, his effort has a little too much pace on it and the ball flies wide of the goal. Meanwhile, Livermore picks up a booking for a poorly-timed challenge.
  • 17'
Arsenal 1-0 up. Fine low cross by Jack Wilshere and Henri Lansbury slid in to finish. Deserved too, for Arsenal have been in control of this game. That was some celebration from Lansbury. That goal meant a lot to him.
  • 15'
    Goal Henri Lansbury
  • 15'
GOAL!! FIRST BLOOD TO ARSENAL!! LANSBURY WITH THE FINISH!! Another great Arsenal move plays in Wilshere on the left side of the Spurs penalty area. The youngster then plays the ball across the face of goal, leaving the unmarked Lansbury with the simple task of tapping the ball home from close range. Great run to get on the end of it there from Lansbury. That's his first goal for Arsenal!!
  • 13'
PENALTY APPEAL FOR ARSENAL! Lansbury breaks into the Spurs area from the right and is pushed in the back from Assou-Ekotto. Shouldn't raise his hands the Spurs full-back, but it looks as though Lansbury goes down a little too easily.
  • 11'
Assou-Ekotto picks out the run of Pavlyuchenko down the left wing, and the Russian easily outpaces Djourou, earning a free-kick from the challenge of the Swiss defender. David Bentley takes the resulting free-kick but fails to curls his right-footed effort beneath the bar from a tight angle.
  • 9'
Lansbury looks to find the run of Vela up front but gets it all wrong and the ball runs through to Pletikosa in the Spurs goal. Eboue is then given a chance to attack down the right but inadvertently stands on the ball and the hosts easily get the ball clear.
  • 7'
Bentley plays the ball down the left to Sandro and he drills a low left-footed cross into the area. Pavlyuchenko looks to latch onto it from the edge of the box but the pass is just a little too inaccurate and the move breaks down.
  • 5'
Wilshere plays the ball into the feet of Nasri from inside his own half and continues his run forward. Nasri then combines with Lansbury down the right but the latter can't find a red shirt with his driven pass into the area. Moments later Vela is presented with a shooting chance but can only fire his rushed effort well over the bar.
  • 3'
Koscielny plays the ball back to Fabianski, dubbed 'Flappyhandski' by sections of supporters. The Pole looks to get the ball clear downfield but ends up needlessly smashing it out of play for a throw-in. Not a great start for the goalkeeper.
  • 1'
Following the minute's applause for Tottenham legend Bobby Smith who passed away on Saturday, Arsenal get us underway at White Hart Lane.
  • Arsenal line up: Fabianski; Eboue, Koscielny, Djourou, Gibbs; Lansbury, Denilson, Wilshere; Nasri, Vela, Rosicky. Subs: Almunia, Sagna, Clichy, Arshavin, Chamakh, Eastmond, Emmanuel-Thomas.
  • Tottenham line up: Pletikosa; Naughton, Caulker, Bassong, Assou-Ekotto; Bentley, Palacios, Sandro, Livermore; Giovani; Pavlyuchenko. Subs: Cudicini, Hutton, Huddlestone, Lennon, Jenas, Keane, Kranjcar.
  • It was expected to almost be two unchanged teams but that’s not the case. Kyle Naughton, Steven Caulker and Jake Livermore are the only Spurs starters who may not be considered first team players, while new signings Stipe Pletikosa and Sandro both start as well. Arsenal field a surprisingly strong line-up with Laurent Koscielny, Tomas Rosicky, Samir Nasri and Jack Wilshere all starting.
  • While the likes of Gareth Bale, William Gallas, Ledley King and Sebastien Squillaci have all been rested, the most notably absentee is Arsene Wenger. The Arsenal boss has received a one-match touchline ban for insulting the fourth official after Darren Bent’s late equaliser saw Sunderland snatch a point against the Gunners on Saturday.
  • Form goes out of the window when these two meet, although form tends to go out of the window in every League Cup clash anyway due to the number of rested players.
  • Good evening and welcome to’s live coverage of the League Cup third round tie between north London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal. My name is Danny Hart and I will be taking you through tonight’s game.
