The reserve 'keeper looked shaky at times on his rare appearance in goal for the Lupi and possibly could have held onto the original shot by Ziegler which lead to the opening goal.
A decent performance down the right from the ex-Livorno man who is improving in each game he plays whilst donning the Giallorossi strip. Gave Laczko a tough time as his opposing number.
Maybe not as solid as Loria, but his presence and influence at the back was important as always. Fast becoming the heart and soul of the Roma defence.
The Norwegian was his marauding self down the left, always trying to make openings, and did so with a number of crosses and attempts on goal, albeit without much success. Defensively, he kept Mannini at bay most of the time.
Not just a threat from set-pieces, but also was a rock in defence alongside Burdisso. Dealt with the aerial threat of Pozzi very well and his distribution was surprisingly good too.
Similar to Perrotta, he didn't do an awful lot of damage against the Sampdoria defence. A player that has relied on his industry and crossing for so long, it is starting to disappear from his arsenal.
A passing masterclass from the Chilean maestro, who dictated his side's possession play with his vision and impressive range of distribution. Classy and cultured as always.
It's been a difficult end to the season for the World Cup winner, who seems to have lost his legs. Struggled to display the usual drive and power in Roma's midfield, and was replaced in the second-half.
Inspirational and influential once again, the legendary number 10 scored a peach of a goal to equalise and set up the other two for his side, and has ended the season with an impressive tally of 15 for the season in the league. Simply a superb talent which will be missed endlessly when he decides to call it a day.
After much criticism came his way for his last few performances, he delivered tonight with a clinical finish for the second and showcased more of his fine attacking play that has been absent of late.
Another forward who hasn't shone much of late, the on-loan striker grabbed the late third to ensure his display wasn't remembered solely for that spectacular hairstyle of his, whilst showing promising link-up play with his fellow strikers.
Angelo Da Costa
Let in three goals but couldn't do an awful lot about them. His defence were the biggest culprits.
While there were no problems when he retained the ball, his distribution was erratic. Time after time his crossing was pathetic, and he wasted a number of openings for his team. Replaced in injury time by Dessena.
The utility player had to cover the ineptness of his defence on a number of occasions, and his grafting nature meant that his own positioning suffered. Easily sidetracked by Totti to allow the hosts to equalise.
Ran absolutely ragged by especially Vucinic, and he was incredibly lucky to not give away at least one penalty. Positionally, he was shocking and did not look like a Serie A defender in the slightest.
The ex-Brescia man did not offer anything going forward, but defensively was marginally better, mainly due to Taddei's lack of enterprise.
The best out of a bad bunch, his shot lead to their only goal of the game and at he least showed commitment to the Sampdoria cause, unlike the rest of his team.
The winger scored his side's opening goal and made sure Riise did not have it all too easy. Showed nice footwork at times, but failed to find the final ball.
The industrial midfield player had his moments of powerful play in the centre, capitalising on the poor show from Perrotta in the first-half. However, his impact died down in the second, as he and his team were outclassed by the panache of Pizarro and Totti.
Derided in his time at Inter, the Frenchman was pacy but when it came to the technicalities of the match, he failed to deliver. Poor showing in attack as Loria and Burdisso more than matched him.
Offered very little in terms of enterprise and class, as the attacking midfielder was easily cast aside.
He tried to put in a decent night's shift for his exhausted side, and showed a will to fight for the ball, but in productive terms he couldn't offer much. Held the ball up well at times.
- 27 Júlio Sérgio
- 3 P. Castellini
- 25 G. Burdisso
- 48 A. Florenzi
The young midfielder replaced Perrotta early in the second-half and although was better at keeping the ball than his predecessor, his distribution was questionable.
- 94 J. Ménez
The youth team product replaced Vucinic midway through the second-half.
- 85 G. Curci
- 20 M. Padalino
The former Roma starlet tried his best to better Mannini, but Riise wasn't prepared to give any loose change to his ex-teammate.
A late cameo from the ex-Parma midfielder.
A last throw of the dice by Cavasin, sacrificing a defender in Zauri, but to no avail.
- 16 A. Poli
- 32 M. Maccarone
