  • And that’s the final whistle. Spurs win it by a whisker. A late Stoke free-kick threatened to ruin the day for Harry Redknapp, but Gomes managed to collect the ball eventually after a messy clear-up. Spurs close the gap on Manchester City to three points as the Eastlands outfit have to wait till Monday to play their fixture, but Spurs will still have a game in hand after that game. However, this result adds to the misery Stoke have already incurred as they now have seven games without an away win and fail to get away from their relegation fears. But for now, that’s all from us. Thank you for joining UK for the live coverage of Tottenham against Stoke City and we hope you’ll join us next time.

  • Just a couple of facts and figures before the team news. Tottenham have only been beaten at White Hart Lane once in their past 25 league games, whilst striker Jermaine Defoe will be looking for his 100th goal in top flight football this afternoon. Stoke meanwhile have never drawn a game in London in 14 trips to the capital, winning three and losing 11. Also, the Potters have the highest percentage of second-half goals than any other team in the league this season.
  • Stoke meanwhile will be hoping to make their way past the 40 point mark to remove all fears of relegation. However, as tough as it will be to get any sort of points out of today’s clash at White Hart Lane, Tony Pulis’ side have lost their last six away games and will have quite the task ahead of them this afternoon if they wish to cancel that out with a win.
