  • The Gunners will have to be happy with their point which was well earned in the end, but will be disappointed not to have got all three to keep up with Manchester United. The gap has been stretched now to five points after United were able to overcome Bolton by just one goal. However, Roy Hodgson will also be disappointed that his team couldn't create a surprise result this afternoon, but will happy to at least get something out of the match as they look to distance themselves from the relegation zone. I hope you have enjoyed Uk's live coverage of this game and I hope to see you next time, but for now, good bye.

Goal!!! And there it is! Mayhem in the West Brom box caused by a cross from the left finds Bendtner at the far post who somehow manages to keep the ball in play on the by-line with his head and the ball drops for Van Persie who slides in on the chance and the ball dribbles in as Carson is left watching. Game on!
  • 78'
    Goal Robin van Persie
  • 76'
Arsenal looking slightly more composed right now as they once again have to push for an equaliser. A stubborn Baggies defence will make them act patiently in the play, but with three strikers on the pitch, the Gunners could score from anywhere.

    Assist Marouane Chamakh
  • 71'
    Goal Andrey Arshavin

Goal!!! And Arshavin has pulled one back for Arsenal. The Russian attacker strikes well from the edge of the area and finds the bottom right corner of Carson's net. The race is on now to get the vital second.
  • 67'
A free-kick now for Arsenal, with Van Persie set to take. The Dutchman takes the shot everybody was expecting, but for someone known for his clinical finishing, it's a dismal effort as the ball goes high and wide.

Arsenal can't believe the position they find themselves in and look lost amid the continuing pressure from the West Brom attackers. It's going to take some doing to get themselves back in the game.

And it should be 2-0 to the hosts. A great run down the left side from Cech who plays the ball across the face of goal and infront of the defenders who were tracking back to the far post where Brunt is able to slide in a get his weaker right foot on it, but the effort agonisingly goes wide.
  • 52'
The first effort on goal of the second-half goes to Arsenal, albeit a slightly tame one. A cross from the left comes into the West Brom area and new addition Chamakh rises above Olsson to get his head on the ball, but there is no power and Carson can catch easily.
  • 49'
Somewhat of a forgotten man in this match, Jack Wilshire almost gets his name in the referee's book. It's been a quiet day for the young midfielder after being one of Arsenal's brightest lights in recent games.
  • 46'
    SubstitutionDenilson Marouane Chamakh
  • 46'
    SubstitutionPaul Scharner Marek Cech
  • 46'

  • 45'
And Arsenal get the game back under way.
  • West Brom are being made to hold on to their narrow lead as Arsenal battle on to find an equaliser. Arsene Wenger will most likely ask for more of the same from his players in the second-half, albeit with a bit more finishing finesse.
  • And the referee calls the game for half-time.
  • 45' + 3'
A dangerous free-kick now for Arsenal on the right-side of the area thanks to a handball from Nicky Shorey. Van Persie takes, but Olsson is there once more to clear.
  • 41'
The referee is forced to stop the game after another clash of heads, with the West Brom player coming off worse once more. But the injury is not as bad as Morrison's and Scharner can return to the pitch quick enough after some minor treatment on the sidelines.
  • 38'
The set-piece is finally allowed to be taken and arrives in the Arsenal box with in a curling manner to trouble Almunia, who fails to collect on the Spanish born 'keeper's first attempt, but manages to clear up on his second.
  • 37'
    Yellow Card Denilson
  • 37'
Denilson gets booked after a cynical challenge on Thomas and West Brom can set up what has the potential to be a troubling free-kick for Arsenal to deal with, but we'll have to wait a while for it to be taken as the challenged player goes off for treatment.
  • 33'
A rare spell of possession for the hosts ends with a futile lack of clinical movement and Arsenal reclaim the ball and have another effort on goal, but Carson can calmly collect. An equaliser feels like it's just around the corner for the visitors, but they need to work on that final ball to get it.
  • 30'

  • 23'
Morrison's absence is being felt in midfield as Arsenal quickly outnumber the West Brom players in the middle. The visitors give themselves two slight chances, but after stubborn defending from Olsson and a weak effort from Arshavin, the equaliser is still lacking.
  • 20'
James Morrison has come off worse in a clash with Koscielny, and the midfielder's head is weeping with blood, forcing the West Brom man to leave the pitch for stitches.
  • 19'
Another corner now for Arsenal. Nasri takes, but the ball is headed clear, despite the glaring sunlight on the West Brom goal and the Gunners have to start again.
  • 18'
    Yellow Card Abdoulaye Meite
  • 15'
West Brom look have had their share of the possession as Arsenal look to shape the game in their own passing fashion. But, the early goal is still the only real action this match has seen and the visitors look to be missing the creativity of players such as Fabregas and Walcott.
  • 12'
However, Arsene Wenger's team look to have settled just about, now and are looking for the gaps in the West Brom defence, but their back four look solid and Scott Carson is yet to be tested.
  • 9'
Arsenal do not look like a confident side right now and look a little rocky in the middle of the pitch. Whereas, West Brom are showing the desire much required by a team who are teetering over the drop zone.
  • 6'
And Roy Hodgson's side aren't looking to sit on their lead and are already looking for a second. However, Odemwingie's effort is off target and Arsenal get the ball into the Baggies' half and win a corner. However, their set-piece is wasted and there's an offside.
  • 4'
    Assist Chris Brunt
  • 4'
    Goal Steven Reid
  • 3'
Goal!!!! West Brom enjoy some early possession and force a corner with some good possession. The set-piece is taken by Brunt and Steven Reid rises above the Arsenal defenders, who to be honest were not particulary paying attention, and the midfielder sensational gives the Baggies an early lead.
  • 1'
And West Brom get the game under way.
  • Like all Premier League games today, the teams stand around the centre-circle for a minutes silence to reflect on the ongoing trouble in Japan, with an impeccable showing from both players and fans alike.
  • Of course the big story, really, for today’s game is the return of veteran ‘keeper Jens Lehmann. The 41-year-old who made 147 appearances for the Gunners, and left the club three years ago, will feature on the bench today for Arsene Wenger’s team, after arriving in London to aid the side’s goalkeeping crisis. It is very doubtful that we will see him in action, unless Almunia is forced off and Arsenal’s injury worries once again begin to stack up.
  • Arsenal’s line-up: Almunia, Sagna, Koscielny, Squillaci, Clichy, Wilshere, Denilson, Nasri, Ramsey, Arshavin, Van Persie. Subs: Lehmann, Rosicky, Eboue, Gibbs, Chamakh, Miquel, Bendtner.
  • West Brom line-up: Carson; Reid, Meite, Olsson, Shorey; Scharner, Mulumbu; Brunt, Morrison, Thomas; Odemwingie. Subs: Myhill, Jara, Cox, Tamas, Fortune, Cech, Tchoyi.
  • Hello and welcome to’s live coverage of this afternoon’s Premier League game between West Brom and Arsenal. The visitors will be looking to pile the pressure on leaders Manchester United with three points today at The Hawthornes. Wenger’s men have had struggled of late in every competition they have played in and will look to set things right again with a much needed win over the Baggies. The Gunners will still have a game in hand over Sir Alex Ferguson’s side after today and need to stay hot on the Red Devil’s tails with a victory. Meanwhile, Roy Hodgson’s side will look to build on their win over Birmingham City which broke a six-game winless streak and leaves them perilously sitting just one point away from the drop zone.
