If Wigan are going to survive this season, they must improve on their woeful defensive record at home and make the DW a fortress for the final few games of the season. Time to step up, then, for the Paraguayan central defender who is so highly thought of at the club that he was given the captaincy on arrival last summer.

The 28-year-old stopper will need to keep a cool head as Tottenham rack up the pressure in and around the area and will hope to not rely too heavily on 'keeper Ali Al-Habsi, despite the Oman international's sublime form this season.

The England international is looking well on his way to a return to his predatory best.

It's been a disappointing season for the Spurs' frontman having failed to score in the league this year until his stunning brace against Wolves last month but he has looked sharp in recent weeks and will be looking to impress Redknapp as the season edges towards an exciting finale for the White Hart Lane club.
Prediction
Wigan showed great heart in coming from behind to beat Birmingham last time out and Tottenham have indeed looked a little fatigued in recent weeks but having been invigorated by a week's break due to international fixtures. Expect Redknapp's men to show their quality and just about overcome the struggling Latics.
