ALL OVER!!! Samp have held on for a vital win against Roma in a dramatic game that saw three men sent off and the home side score their first goals in over a month. Juan's hapless defending was the main contributing factor in Roma throwing away their lead. Thanks for joining us today and until next time, Arrivederci.

Totti has a sly dig at Palombo after the Samp captain goes down upon heading the ball back to his goalkeeper under pressure from the veteran.

Cheers of relief as Vucinic's free-kick is headed away. Can Sampdoria cling on with nine men?

Yellow/Red Daniele Gastaldello

Totti enters the fray for the final few minutes in this compelling encounter in place of Greco.

RED CARD SAMPDORIA!!! A third dismissal in this game and a second Samp centre-back receives his marching orders. This time it's Gastaldello, who gets another booking after a handball.
There will be four minutes of stoppage time here as Roma prepare to bring on Totti.
Finally, Juan puts a foot right as he gets enough on his cushion header back to Doni to avert the danger with Pazzini lurking.
Vucinic lets fly from distance but it goes over the crossbar. Roma are resurgent now that numerical parity has been restored.
Yellow/Red Stefano Lucchini
An anti-climax as the free-kick is straight at Curci. Roma will need better delivery than that if they're to snatch a point.
RED CARD SAMPDORIA! Lucchini is sent off for a second bookable offence as he is guilty of obstructing Borriello. Two cynical fouls from the defender = two yellows = one red. Roma have a lifeline!!!
Roma look for the equaliser but Borriello's effort is saved in comfortable fashion by Curci.
Goal Stefano Guberti
Successive deliveries from Mannini wreaked havoc in the Roma defence. Second time around, Juan fails to deal with it and Gulberti nips in and slides the ball home under Doni. A horror show from the Brazilian centre-back today since coming on for Mexes at the break.
GOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL SAMPDORIA!!!!!! Gulberti has put it in!!!! Sampdoria have come from behind and lead against Roma!!! Incredible scenes as another mistake from Juan leads to a goal for the home side!!!
Poli is the man to make way for Mannini for the last eight minutes or so of normal time.
Gulberti looks to pick out Macheda in the box but his cross finds Doni. And barely twenty seconds later, Macheda stoops low to head wide of the goal from Zauri's excellent cutback! Almost a debut goal for the man on loan from Manchester United, who has made a good impression already!
Brilliant through-ball from Macheda to Pazzini but Doni was very sharp in coming off his line and claiming the ball, before stopping himself sliding out of the penalty box and becoming a second Roma goalie to be sent off!
Sampdoria are readying their final change with Mannini stripped down to his kit and ready to come on.
Palombo looks to swing in the ball to the box but it's overhit much to the disappointment of the home fans.
Federico Macheda, on loan from Manchester United, comes on for Pozzi to make his Sampdoria debut to considerable cheers from the home fans.
Cassetti protests to the referee that Pozzi should receive a second booking for shirt pulling but instead the defender is chastised for attempting to have a fellow professional sent off.
Greco delivers the ball into the box low and disappointingly it hits the first man. Samp's attempted counter breaks down before Perrotta punts the ball hopelessly forward as it sails harmlessly out of play.
After a slip from Palombo, Borriello receives the ball from Perrotta and his shot takes a deflection on its way into the side netting and Roma have a corner.
Koman does well to scramble the ball forward towards Pazzini but Burdisso reads the play and clears the ball, which takes a deflection before going out of play. Zauri is then fouled near the touchline by Greco and Samp have a free-kick.
Samp win a corner over on the left-hand side but it's too high for Gastadello. When it's returned into the box by Koman, Pazzini heads wide - he couldn't get enough purchase on the header.
Riise has the chance to launch one of his trademark long throws but the Samp defence deal with it sans souci however, Roma are able to recycle possession.
Roma are starting to struggle under the pressure being applied by Sampdoria and with their numerical disadvantage. Menez's necessary withdrawal has blunted their creativity in attack.
The disappointing Marilungo makes way for Pazzini as Samp go in search of a winner against ten-man Roma.
Vucinic almost restores the lead as he latches on to Brighi's far post ball. He then rifles the right-footed shot narrowly wide of Curci's near post. Pazzini is almost ready to come on for Samp.
Yellow Card Guido Marilungo
Roma look to hit back immediately but Borriello's ball with the outside of the right boot fails to find a team-mate. Marilungo is then booked for a late challenge on Perrotta.
Assist Angelo Palombo
Penalty Goal Nicola Pozzi
GOAL SAMPDORIA!!!! Pozzi steps up to take the penalty and he sends Doni the wrong way, lifting it high into the net. Cue wild celebrations from the players and fans alike!!!! The goalless run finally comes to an end and Sampdoria are right back in this game - with the advantage of 11 men to boot! It's Pozzi's third goal of the season.
Doni will come on and his first task will be to save the penalty kick - it's a disgruntled looking Menez who is sacrificed.
Red Card Julio Sergio
PENALTY AND RED CARD!!! An incredible turn of events here at the Ferraris stadium!!! Juan's backpass put Roma in big trouble and it's his goalkeeper who has to pay the price. Palombo raced onto the backpass, took it around Julio Sergio, who brings him down and so commits a professional foul. Can Sampdoria now finally score?
Vucinic goes for the cross from the left. He stands the ball up to the far post, where Juan heads over the crossbar.
Yellow Card Stefano Lucchini
Koman takes the ball forward after receiving a neat ball from Palombo but he is robbed by Brighi. Roma counter through Menez and as he looks to skin Lucchini on the left-hand side, the arm comes out from the defender, who takes one for the team and is booked.
Gulberti looks to get the cross in from the left but once again he is thwarted by Casetti. Samp come again and it's a great chance for Marilungo just inside the box but his effort is blocked by Brighi. The ball then deflects behind after Gulberti's shot though off a team-mate and it's a goal-kick to Roma.
Greco looks to come away with the ball but Sampdoria have a free-kick for an earlier foul on Gulberti. They look to pile the pressure on but Roma win a throw and receive some respite when Vucinic is fouled by Lucchini.
Another scrappy period of play, which is interrupted as Menez is fouled over on the left-hand touchline. Kiko Macheda is warming up for Samp.
We have a change at the break with Juan replacing Mexes at the heart of the Roma defence. Sampdoria are unchanged.
Welcome back for the second half. Can Ranieri get his first victory as a coach in over 16 years or will Sampdoria score their first goal in over a month?
A good chance to equalise for Marilungo out of nowhere but his weak effort is saved by Julio Sergio in the final action of the first-half. Until then, Sampdoria rarely looked like scoring and Roma have a deserved lead at the break thanks to a fine goal from Mirko Vucinic. Join us in fifteen minutes for the resumption.

As the board goes up for one minute of added time, Greco is booked for a rash challenge on Poli.
Yellow Card Leandro Greco
Menez drills the ball in to the near the post where Vucinic is lurking. The Montenegrin forces another corner but he wants a penalty for handball, which he is not getting. Curci then comes a long way but claims the follow-up corner. However, Marilungo is offside from the long punt upfield.
Menez shows what he can do when he lets his football do the talking and not his argumentative streak as he forces a good save from Curci with a low shot to the goalkeeper's right, which is tipped behind for a corner.
Koman plays a neat 1-2 with Poli but he rushes and crosses from too deep, making it easier for Burdisso to clear away. Samp need to be more patient and confident in attack but when you haven't scored since 5 December, that's easier said than done.
Menez goes down just inside the box but he doesn't even dare to appeal for the penalty as it was excellent defending from Sampdoria.
Yellow Card Nicola Pozzi
Pozzi, who has endured a frustrating first-half is yellow carded for a strong challenge on Brighi and he can have no complaints there.
A dreadful touch from Marilungo who inexplicably puts the ball out of play with absolutely no pressure on the midfielder. Sighs of disapproval and gasps of frustration from the crowd and rightly so.
The ensuing corner is delayed after some pushing and shoving inside the box and when it comes, the ball is flicked on at the near post and almost falls for Mexes but Samp eventually recover possession.
And as I type that, Borriello shoots just wide of the post on his left-foot after a good save from Curci. Outstanding work from Menez, who wormed his way between two defenders before Vucinic laid the ball off for the big striker.
The supporters launch a few plaintive groans from the stands as an aimless long-ball forward is cut out. In truth neither side has created much but Roma are the side who have the lead.
Di Carlo fights his team's corner as the referee penalises Samp for a foul-throw ordering it to be retaken.
A nondescript few minutes here with the game being played exclusively in the midfield areas with nothing of any real consequence taking place. However, Roma are doing particularly well in pressurising the Sampdoria players when they have the ball.
Vucinic takes on two defenders and looks to beat both on the outside and is duly fouled by Ziegler and Roma have a free-kick near the right touchline. Vucinic as ever strikes the ball but it's headed clear.
Koman delivers the ball in from the right but Mexes is in the right position once again to head clear. Roma look to counter but they can't find Borriello upfield.
Superb touch from Vucinic as he backheels the ball to Cassetti whose cross is hacked behind at the near post for a Roma corner. The ball is delivered in to Nicolas Burdisso who has a free header but he can't keep his effort down.
It's almost perfectly situated for Riise, who indeed thunders the ball towards goal after his long run-up but the wall do their job on this occasion.
Lucchini slides in on Vucinic before Koman stops the striker completely and gives away the free-kick, a few yards outsid the box and to the right of centre.
Now, the boot is on the other foot as Pozzi is penalised for a foul on Mexes. Looks set to be a real ding-dong battle between the two today.
Samp have a free-kick after Mexes bundles Pozzi over, which Palombo places before leaving it to Ziegler, who curls the ball narrowly wide of the left-hand post. Julio Sergio looked to be struggling to get across to that one.
Assist Leandro Greco
Goal Mirko Vučinić
GOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL ROMA Vucinic puts it into the corner of the net with a superb finish from the right-hand side of the box and Roma have the lead! It's his quickest goal of the season.
Vucinic was allowed to ghost in between two defenders and make his way into the box before rifling the ball past Curci. However, credit to Cassetti who began the move by robbing Gulberti after the left-sided man tried to jink inside.
Guberti plays a lovely ball down the line to Poli but Burdisso resists the temptation to lunge in and the attempted cross goes behind for a goal-kick.
Roma look for the counterpunch after some good pressure from Samp. They're knocking the ball around nicely but Samp's defence is well-organised and they soak up the pressure before a loose ball from Vucinic is cut out.
The referee plays advantage after Cassetti goes down under pressure from Poli, who plays on and looks to shoot from a tight angle however, Mexes gets a block in and the ball balloons behind for a corner.
Almost an outstanding goal from Sampdoria. A terrific ball from the right found Guberti over on the left wing and he put in the first-time cross to Pozzi, who shot wide.
After dusting himself down, Pozzi returns to the fray as Mexes is forced to clear the ball out for a throw after Guberti's testing cross from the left.
Roma lose possession inside their own defensive third but Burisso tidies up with a strong but fair challenge on Pozzi, who is now rollling about on the floor clutching his knee.
Yellow Card Daniele Gastaldello
Gastaldello is unrepentant despite being booked for a challenge on Borriello, who incidentally has represented both Sampdoria and Genoa.
Menez fouls Palombo and Smapdoria can launch a first real attack. However, Koman fluffs his lines as he completely mishits the shot at the backpost after a terrific cross from the left. Roma were caught unawares by a quickly taken free-kick.
It's 303 minutes or just over five hours since Sampdoria last scored and they have yet to threaten the Roma defence in the opening four minutes.
...but Vucinic wins the argument only to dink the ball harmlessly over the posse of players in the box and out of play.
One of Hungary's great hopes Vladimir Koman is called up for a foul on Menez, who has excelled since being placed in a more central role in the side. Riise is behind the ball...
Vucinic puts the ball into the box but Palombo atones for his earlier foul by helping head the ball to safety.
Today is Domenico Di Carlo's 300th game as a coach and his various teams have never scored against Roma! Meanwhile, Palombo fouls Vucinic and Roma have a free-kick.
Gianluca Rocchi blows his whistle and gets us underway. It's Roma who kick us off in their change strips of black and orange while Sampdoria are in their iconic blue kits.
