Serie A Preview: Parma – Chievo
The Flying Donkeys will aim to maintain their great run of form against the division’s basement-dwellers…

Bottom Of The Pile
Like Bari, Parma had a good time in Serie A last season but have started to struggle for survival this time around. At the moment the Ducali are at the foot of the league table with just seven points from eight matches.
However, things have looked somewhat promising this month. After narrowly losing to Milan at home, Pasquale Marino’s side held Cesena to a 1-1 draw away and last weekend stopped Roma from scoring in their draw at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.

But what Parma now need is a win and they will have to use home advantage to get that against Chievo. The Crociati haven’t won in the league since the opening weekend of the season and indeed there will be some nerves.
Yes, Donkeys Can Fly
Chievo are fast turning out to be this season’s surprise package in Serie A as after eight rounds of matches the Verona-based side are fourth in the league with 13 points, six points behind leaders Lazio.
Chievo defeated Cesena 2-1 last weekend in the league to bounce back from a comprehensive 3-1 defeat by Milan and carried on their momentum with a 2-0 victory over Sassuolo in Verona in the third round of the Coppa Italia.
Stefano Pioli’s side have looked very comfortable in their away matches as well as they have picked up two wins out of a possible three on their travels. A win on Sunday in Parma is not out of reckoning.
Galloppa and Paloschi are out injured. Giovinco will start on the right of a three-man attackline in a 4-3-3 formation with Marques on the left and Bojinov in the centre.
Luciano and Rigoni are unavailable for the trip to Parma because of injuries. Chievo will start in a 4-3-1-2 system with Thereau and Pellissier as the two strikers and Bogliacino as the playmaker behind them.

Giovinco has promised to return to form and rescue Parma from relegation. The former Juventus playmaker has just returned from injury and will look to make more impact that he did against Roma last weekend.
Pellissier is Chievo’s talisman and he will again be at the forefront of the Flying Donkeys’ attackline. Chievo are doing extremely well in Serie A at the moment and Pellissier will be looking to augment their form by scoring a couple of goals against Parma.
