Had some moments where he was caught out of position, but made a brilliant save in the first few minutes to deny Pinzi from just a few yards out.
Almost had a back pass picked off and was torched by Asamoah in the second-half. Not a good outing for the defender at right-back.
Came forward with some overlapping runs and cleared a certain goal in the second-half when he denied Di Natale's lob from floating into the net.
Had Floro Flores in his back pocket all afternoon and made a few key interceptions when Udinese flew forward on the counter attack.
A solid outing for the player, even if he lost sight of Di Natale and Pinzi on a couple of occasions.
His powerful freekick required a save from Handanovic and he directed the play for Sampdoria going forward in the first-half. As usual, he never neglected his defensive duties either.
A tad wreckless at times, which earned him a booking, but you cannot fault his workrate in the center of the pitch against the Friuli outfit.
Another player who really failed to impress, despite getting into some good positions. He failed to offer a telling cross of contribution when coming forward.
Offered no real support for the attack and was unsurprisingly substituted after 70 minutes.
A poor game for the hitman, who got no change out of the Udinese defence. Arguably his largest contribution was complaining for a non-existant penalty.
His return to the line-up had little to celebrate, as he found it hard to escape the attentions of Zapata.
Barely had a save to make excpet for an early freekick from Palombo. Secure on crosses into the area.
The Chilean played well in spurts, had some nice combinations with Pinzi and Di Natale, but not often enough to be given more than an average rating.
The young Moroccan Improved greatly in the second-half after struggling in the opening period. Kept his position well.
Had to be removed due to injury after 25 minutes.
Had a couple long crosses the stretched the Sampdoria defence in the first-half, but overall a less than convincing showing on the left side.
A very highly-rated defender for obvious reason. His job was to shackle Antonio Cassano, and he did so throughout the 90 minutes at the Marassi.
The midfielder was denied what would have been a decisive goal by Curci after just eight minutes, unfortunately his contributions after that were not as noteworthy.
Fought hard in midfield and sprayed some wonderful passes around to open up play. The Swiss international proved he is a player capable of getting the Zebrette out of the bottom places in the league.
His set-piece in the second-half nearly opened the scoring, but flew just wide with the goalkeeper beaten. A solid display from the Ghana international, who sacrificed himself on both ends of the pitch.
A. Floro Flores
He was never able to free himself from the Blucerchiati backline and eventually replaced by Corradi.
A. Di Natale
An unlucky day for the veteran, who was a danger whenever he received the ball. Set up Pinzi with a pinpoint cross in the early going and saw one chance flash wide while his inspired lob over the goalkeeper was cleared off the line.
- 1 Angelo Da Costa
- 5 P. Accardi
- 26 M. Volta
Provided some nice touches and his pace was a threat, drawing some fouls. However. he could not link up with the attack consistently enough.
- 7 D. Mannini
A late replacement for Pazzini.
The youngster hardly had a sniff of the ball in the last 20 minutes, failed to make an impact in a difficult situation.
- 6 E. Belardi
- 26 G. Pasquale
Did exactly what was expected of him after replacing the injured Domizzi in the first-half, shoring up the defence.
- 23 A. Abdi
- 4 J. Cuadrado
Only had 20 minutes to make an impact, but his pace and creativity down the right side caused some worrying moments for Sampdoria as the match came to a close.
The late substitute saw his one chance skip wide.
