Bottom Of The Pile
Udinese had striker Antonio Di Natale to thank last season as they conjured up a late rally to finish outside the bottom three in Serie A. This season the Bianconeri have started the season with two successive defeats in the league and are at the foot of the table.
In fact, the Udine-based side are the only team in the Italian top flight without any point. A narrow 1-0 defeat to Genoa at home in their first league fixture of the season was followed by a 2-1 defeat to Inter in Milan, although Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo thought that they didn't deserve to lose to the Nerazzurri.
"We don't have any luck against Inter, they are a great team, but we matched them tonight," said Pozzo after the game. "There were two things that unblocked the game and a penalty that was not given to Di Natale.
"But there is no point going on about it. We go home with zero points but I am not worried. The championship is still long."
Same Old Same Old
After Juventus' disappointing but thrilling 3-3 draw with Polish champions Lech Poznan in the Europa League at home, former club director Luciano Moggi claimed that the Italian giants are losing their pride.
"Maybe not many people will believe me, but seeing Juventus concede three goals at home to Lech Poznan hurts," Moggi wrote in his Tuttomercatoweb.com column. "It hurts the pride, the memories of Champions League games and Scudetti.
"Three goals last night, three on Sunday, I feel like a locked up lion. If I could I would help this team that for me meant almost my whole football career."
Coach Luigi Del Neri did admit that the Bianconeri are suffering from the same problems that they had last season and lamented, "The problems remain the same: not paying enough attention and security in what one is doing on the pitch. Tonight, I did not see a great quality in our opponent, but it was our errors from not concentrating hard enough.
"As soon as you make an error, you pay the ultimate price, whereas during other times, you may have been able to get away with it."
Juve have yet to win in the league and anything other than maximum points this weekend will be a disaster.

Del Piero could start ahead of Iaquinta in attack and if he does, then he will be looking to maintain his current run of good form. The veteran netted a stunner against Lech Poznan on Thursday from 30 yards and also provided two assists.
