Donati's goal and Alvarez's performance meant it was a bad start for the Bianconeri...
By Kris Voakes
Another competent showing from the keeper-cum-sweeper, completely dominating his 18-yard box for the most part.
Showed his real passion for the Galletti once more with a fantastic appetite for work as he saw off Pepe and was unflappable during Juve's period of second half pressure.
Showed great poise to deal with Quagliarella and Del Piero's dual threat. Stood tall to everything that came his way and he'll be more than happy with his home debut, and maybe even a little relieved having seemingly laid a hand on Del Piero's free-kick late on.
Kept Quagliarella quiet when necessary and also kept a very close eye on Del Piero's box of tricks as he led the back line with great aplomb.
Dealt with Krasic with a great deal of calm and was also more than happy to get forward when he fancied it too. Got better with each winger that Del Neri threw at him.
Regularly got in behind De Ceglie as Bari pinned Juve's full-backs deep in their own half. His end product could do with improving, but he was Bari's main threat, and continued to give De Ceglie the run around right through to full time.
Came off worst in an early 50/50 with Felipe Melo and lasted only 16 minutes as a result.
More than contributed to the midfield to-and-fro early on, allowing himself and Donati to have a fairly easy time up against Marchisio and Felipe Melo.
Attacked well from the start to give Motta plenty to think about defensively, forcing a great block from Storari, though he probably should have done more to beat the keeper.
Caused the Juve back four all sorts of problems, and beat all of them before seeing his shot cleared off the line by Chiellini just after the hour. Led the fight just as he did so often last season for the Galletti.
Led the line well, making things difficult for Chiellini as Bari built their game around a high energy approach to their attacks.
Late replacement for Alvarez.
Took no time to get into his stride and proved the match winner. Could have had a second and he and Almiron ruled the roost in midfield.
Late replacement for Barreto.
Made a magnificent save from Ghezzal when making himself big in the first half, earning a bang on the head as a result. Could do little with Donati's striker which ended the stalemate, but was also bailed out more than once by his defenders sweeping in behind.
Very nearly broke the deadlock when progressing into the six-yard box but always looked to be under pressure when Bari attacked down his wing.
Did well to sweep across and cover the overworked Motta more than once, but seemed a little more lethargic than normal.
Could have grabbed an early goal from a right wing corner but did his job very effectively at the heart of the Juve rearguard. Dealt with Kutuzov pretty well, but Donati's shot was struck too early for him to be able to deal with and he'll wonder how he didn't equalise in injury time.
Struggled throughout as Alvarez put him under constant pressure. The winger has done for more experienced full-backs than De Ceglie before, but this was a particularly naive defensive performance.
Was a virtual passenger in the first half as Bari used the wings to great effect for themselves rather than cede to reputations. Substituted at the break.
Put himself about very well in the early stages, but Juve couldn't seem to buy the ball in midfield and his effectiveness soon dropped off before he was replaced by Sissoko.
Very disappointing performance from the Italy international as he failed to show real presence in midfield and also was unable to clear the danger when Donati struck.
Struggles to play his natural game when on the left, and that was the case again today. Very ineffective before being withdrawn soon after the interval.
Worked hard, and showed he can still beat a man with that delightful stepover, but seems to have lost his real cutting edge other than from set pieces.
Got into his stride from the very beginning, linking pretty well with Del Piero, but thereafter showed very little of the potency which Juve were sadly lacking for the most part.
Looked set to cause problems for the home side immediately after his introduction, but his effectiveness quickly subsided and he was unable to mark his league debut with a positive result.
Replaced Felipe Melo but couldn't really add anything which the Brazilian had managed to contribute.
About the best he could offer was a scuffed shot from 25 yards as he failed to really have a positive effect after replacing Simone Pepe.
