Sevilla 4-1 Levante: Luis Fabiano Hat-Trick Seals Easy Win

A routine win for the hosts...

Sevilla ran out easy winners over La Liga strugglers Levante at the Sanchez Pizjuan in Saturday's Liga opener, with Luis Fabiano netting a first-half double in what quickly developed into a rout.

The hosts started the game eager to impress the home fans, who this season haven't often seen the level of performance that they are accustomed to.

Today was to prove different, though, as after a sustained period of pressure Luis Fabiano opened the scoring with a classic strike in the 27th minute, heading home a 15-yarder with beautiful poise after a Jesus Navas cross on the break.

Ten minutes later it was 2-0, Julien Escude managing a rare goal, storming into the box to finish off a Romaric cross with ease.

Luis Fabiano made it a personal tally of two shortly before the break, dispatching a penalty won by Fernando Navarro after a foul by Javi Venta, and Levante were struggling to keep things respectable.

Xisco Munoz at least managed to pull one back shortly before the hour mark with a neat finish after good build-up play from Felipe Caicedo.

But Sevilla weren't done yet, and Luis Fabiano got a well-deserved hat-trick in the 67th minute with a shot that left Manolo Reina stranded.

Sevilla's win lifts them into 7th place, albeit with the three sides below them still to play. Levante remain 19th and could drop to the bottom if Almeria manage a point.
