FULL TIME. MANCHESTER CITY 2-1 NEWCASTLE UNITED. Manchester City haven't played well today but they have got all three points, which is a sign of a title winning team. Chris Hughton will point to two penalty decisions that went against Newcastle which would have changed the outcome of the result, but in the end it's Manchester City who rise to second in the table.

90′
Three minutes added on here at Eastlands.

88′
Chris Hughton is heard on the sideline screaming "Go on, go on!" as James Perch gallops down the right-hand side, his cross is poor though and evades both Carroll and Ameobi.

86′
Substitution Carlos Tévez Patrick Vieira

85′
City are switching to a more defensive style now as Patrick Vieira comes on for Ciy captain and goalscorer Carlos Tevez.

82′
Newcastle are going for it now throwing all attacking players forward looking for an equaliser which there play deserves, but City's defence looks relatively comfortable at the moment.

79′
Newcastle have been denied an absolute stonewall penalty by Martin Atkinson. Ameobi wriggles past Joleon Lescott before being brought down, and somehow referee Martin Atkinson and his assistant don't point to the penalty spot. Thats two huge decisions that have gone against Newcastle today, Chris Hughton does not look happy.

76′
GOAL!! MANCHESTER CITY!! ADAM JOHNSON!! MANCHESTER CITY 2-1 NEWCASTLE. Not a bad substitute to bring on. Johnson twists and turns past Enrique on the right hand side before cutting inside to smash a left footed shot into the bottom right hand corner. It's been coming thats for sure.

76′
Substitution Kevin Nolan Andy Carroll

75′
Assist James Milner

75′
Goal Adam Johnson

74′
What a scramble in the box and City fans will wonder how they are not infront after Silva, Adebayor and Tevez all get in and around the six yard box but fail to get a firm connection and the grateful Williamson smashes the ball clear.

73′
Ameobi wins a free-kick for Newcastle 30 yards from goal. Barton goes for goal but smashes it straight into the wall.

72′
Substitution Gareth Barry Adam Johnson

70′
A special mention to Newcastle's holding midfielder Cheik Tiote who has been fantastic sitting infront of his back four today, a perfect example of the fine art of a holding midfielder.

69′
Not much goalmouth action at the moment, just wave and wave of City attacks that are being halted by a superb Newcastle rearguard. The Geordies have around twenty minutes to hold on.

65′
Surely not another injury for Newcastle? Perch gets caught on the ankle via the studs of Joleon Lescott. However it looks that he can continue, despite limping back into the action.

63′
Great defending from Sol Campbell. Milner looked to be clean through on goal but the veteran defender came across and cleared the danger.

60′
Newcastle are dropping deeper and deeper and really need to push out otherwise it's only a matter of time before City take the lead.

57′
Positive change from Roberto Mancini as Adebayor replaces Yaya Toure. Newcastle have their work cut out to leave Eastlands with a point today.

56′
Substitution Yaya Touré Emmanuel Adebayor

55′
Tevez stings the palms of Krul after good work from David Silva. City on top now but Newcastle are staying strong at the back.

54′
Super work from Gutierrez down the left hand side but his cross is too strong and Routledge can only help it out for a goal kick.

52′
Emanuel Adebayor is warming up on the sidelines and may be introduced to give City a much needed boost in the attacking area of the pitch.

48′
Newcastle are on the back foot already as City have come out in this second half wiht a very attacking frame of mind. Manchester City fans need to show a little more patience as they are boo'ing every misplaced pass from their boys in sky blue.

46′
We are back up and running now at Eastlands. Manchester City must improve if they are going to get all three points today.

45′ +5
MANCHESTER CITY 1-1 NEWCASTLE UNITED. In a high octane first half where Newcastle have suffered injuries to Ben Arfa and Coloccini, they go into the break with a credible 1-1 scoreline after Gutierrez cancelled out Tevez's penalty. Roberto Mancini needs to give his millionaire's a strong team talk at half-time as Newcastle have arguably been the better of the two sides.

45′ +1
Five minutes added on in total.

45′
Into stoppage time now and there will be a few minutes added on due to the lengthy treatment on Ben Arfa earlier in the game.

43′
Forgot to mention that Carlos Tevez has become the fifth player to go into Martin Atkinson's book, after a clumsy tackle on Newcastle keeper Tim Krul. Don't be surprised if he brandishes a red card to someone soon as this game has turned into a firey affair since De Jong's horror tackle on Ben Arfa.

42′
Stamford Bridge hat-trick hero Shola Ameobi is yet to spark into life in this one, he attempts the spectacular from 30 yards but his poor shot dribbles well wide of the post.

41′
Yellow Card Carlos Tévez

40′
James Perch is having a tough time dealing with Tevez as the Argentinian is running at the former Nottingham Forest defender at any opportunity. So far so good though for the highly criticised Perch.

39′
Yellow Card Jerome Boateng

37′
Sol Campbell comes on for the injured Coloccini, a huge blow as Coloccini has started the season in fine form alongside Mike Williamson.

36′
Substitution Fabricio Coloccini Sol Campbell

35′
It's now the home sides turned to have the majority of possesion after Newcastle had 84% in the last five minutes. Signs of unrest here at Eastlands as the supporters expect Newcastle to be comfortably beaten.

32′
Since Gutierrez got Newcastle back on level terms there play has been far better. Keeping the ball with a lot more confidence than the early stages of the match, if they could make it to half time level they will feel they could go on to snatch all three points in this one.

29′
Former Newcastle man James Milner tries his luck from 25 yards, but his zipping drive goes narrowly wide of Tim Krul's right hand post.

27′
Matt Monaghan describes the scenes on the Newcastle bench after Gutierrez's equaliser: "Colin Calderwood was a dour Scottish centre-back during his career but he celebrated that Gutierrez screamer with a hop, skip and a dance usually saved for the ballroom floor. The Magpies assistant meant that after the sense of injustice from De Jong's reducer on Ben Arfa."

26′
Yellow Card Kolo Toure

24′
GOAL!! NEWCASTLE!! GUTIERREZ!! MANCHESTER CITY 1-1 NEWCASTLE. Wow what a finish from the Argentinian. He tries to play a ball into the feet of Shola Ameobi but the ball comes back to Jonas, who takes a touch before smashing the ball past Joe Hart via the underside of the bar. Stunning.

24′
Goal Jonas Gutierrez

22′
Yellow Card Fabricio Coloccini

22′
Yellow Card Fabricio Coloccini

22′
What a hit from Coloccini as his dipping long ranger brings the best out of Joe Hart.

19′
GOAL!! MANCHESTER CITY!! TEVEZ!! MANCHESTER CITY 1-0 NEWCASTLE. Tevez gets up to take the spot kick and elects for power, smashing the ball past Tim Krul to give City the lead.

19′
GOAL!! MANCHESTER CITY!! TEVEZ!! MANCHESTER CITY 1-0 NEWCASTLE. Tevez gets up to take the spot kick and elects for power, smashing the ball past Tim Krul to give City the lead.

18′
PENALTY TO MANCHESTER CITY. Mike Williamson tracks back to attempt to win the ball from Carlos Tevez, and looks to have won the ball, but referee Martin Atkinson points to the penalty spot and shows a yellow card to the Newcastle defender. Tevez will step up to try and put City into the lead.

18′
Penalty Goal Carlos Tévez

17′
Yellow Card Mike Williamson

16′
After somehow going unpunished for his earlier tackle on Ben Arfa, Nigel De Jong is bossing City's midfield as they begin to dominate.

13′
Manchester City win a couple corners in quick succession and in both cases take the corners short with no Newcastle defenders in sight. Luckily for Newcastle James Milner's delivery is poor on both occasions.

12′
The Newcastle back four are playing a very high line today. Somewhat risky tactics from Chris Hughton when you consider the talent that City have going forward.

10′
Despite Ben Arfa's injury Newcastle have started very well, taking the game to Manchester City, unfortunately for the Magpies their final ball hasn't been good enough so far.

8′
After a few minutes of treatment for Ben Arfa, Wayne Routledge comes on to replace the Frenchman.

7′
Substitution Hatem Ben Arfa Wayne Routledge

5′
Hatem Ben Arfa has suffered a suspected broken ankle after a rash challenge from Nigel De Jong and is currently recieving oxygen on the pitch. Not good news for the summer signing from Marseille.

3′
Goal.com's Matt Monaghan is at the match today, and offers us this insight... “No warm reception for ex-City battler Joey Barton. Boos ring out from the crowd as the controversial mifielder's name is rung out, but it's water off a duck's back as he reacts with a smile. Good job considering the monsoon weather in Manchester.”

1′
Newcastle get us underway attacking from right to left.

The teams are out on the pitch and we are about to get underway here at Eastlands.
