The game has really come into life now as both sides are going out at each other. There is still a lack of top class quality and lack of ideas especially from Juventus but things are getting interesting at the moment.

Cagliari on the break now as Cossu gallops with the ball along the right flank and then cuts it inside but it is subsequently cleared out of danger by Juve.

Cossu tries a free-kick from distance but it is harmless. Meanwhile, Chiellini's nose is covered in blood.

Now Cagliari have a chance but this time Cossu couldn't control it. After a somewhat flat first half, the second session is really coming to life now.

It's half-time here and it is Cagliari who lead the former Italian and European champions Juventus 1-0. Juve have been awful at times and the match has been pretty much scrappy overall, but Nene's thunderous strike should be noted. Can Juve restore parity in the second half? Rejoin us in 15 minutes.

Poor ball from Diego. He gets a pass from Camoranesi on the right but instead of laying it off for Poulsen near him, he tries to switch play to the left side of the midfield and find no one as the ball goes out for a Cagliari throw-in.

Diego takes yet another shot from just outside the Cagliari penalty area but it goes just wide of the far post. This is the second time that the Brazilian has tried to bear Marchetti from distance.

Juventus have looked unimaginative in attack and have failed to string together threatening passes. They are going on the attack but when they have the ball, either they are getting dispossessed or do not know what to do with it and are coming up against Cagliri traffic.

Jeda is sent through from the midfield with just three Juve shirts anywhere near but but the move eventually breaks down as Sissoko steals the ball. Juve are leaving gaps at the back and are leaving themselves open to counter-attacks.

Marchisio receives the ball on the left, goes on a diagonal run across the pitch to the other side, looking for option, and eventually passes the ball to Camoranesi who then feeds Molinaro on the left but Molinaro puts it out. Disappointing end to what could have been a dangerous break for Juve.

Cagliari have deservedly gone into the lead. Juve are in utter disarray. They have no coherence or connection in attack, the midfield looks scrappy and they are at sixes and sevens at the back. Things are looking bleak at the moment for the Scudetto challengers.

Nene goes for an ambitious shot from about 25 yards from the right and guess what: his right-footed shot curls into the top right corner of the net. Buffon is beaten at his near post but the Brazilian should be given due credit. It's Cagliari who take the lead.

First real attack of the game from Juventus. Amauri, Sissoko, Diego all combine but the final ball is too long for Amauri as Marchetti collects the ball with ease.

Diego shoots!!!!!!! The Brazilian cuts inside from the right and takes a left-footed shot from outside the Cagliari penalty area but it is hit right at Marchetti.

Brilliant challenge from Conti on Camoranesi. Caceres is dispossessed while making a run on the right but the ball falls kindly to the Italian, who then tries to launch his own run. But Conti makes a timely intervention.

Conti tries a shot but Buffon makes a good save, Juve are looking vulnerable at the back, just like they did against Bordeaux in the Champions League in midweek.

Juventus haven't looked very threatening in this match. Amauri has looked lonely upfront and Diego is not seeing too much of the ball of late.

Molinaro tries to float in a cross from the left side but Cagliari goalkeeper Marchetti catches the ball easily.

Juventus are winning most of the battles in the midfield at the moment but they haven't created anything concrete so far.

Good move from Juventus. Caceres passes the ball from the right to Diego in the centre of midfield and the Brazilian then feeds it to Molinaro on the left, who runs through the Cagliari backline but his cross is slightly disappointing.

Juventus are playing in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Amauri as the lone striker upfront.

Juve lost to Bordeaux in the Champions League in midweek and this has put pressure on coach Ciro Ferrara. The visitors have to win today.
