Stadio Sant'Elia - Cagliari
Referee: De Marco
90′ +5
It's all over here and the Cagliari faithful jump off their seats. They have seen their players march to a deserved 2-0 victory over Juventus, who were awful at times and erratic on a number of occasions. Nene scored in the first half and then Matri doubled the advantage in the second session. It's finished Cagliari 2-0 Juventus here. From me and the rest of the Goal.com team bye for now and come back later for our LIVE coverage of El Clasico.
90′ +4
Diego goes close this time but he couldn't give his shot a proper angle as Marchetti collects the ball with ease.
90′ +3
Del Piero goes close again as Giovinco floats in a brilliant ball from the left but Del Piero's header is just over the crossbar.
90′ +2
Oh, Juve score as Del Piero flicks the ball into the Cagliri net! But no, it is disallowed. Still 2-0 to Cagliari.
90′
Five minutes are going to be added to the match but it is too late for Juve.
89′
GOAL! GOAL! GOAL! Matri has scored for Cagliari! A break for Cagliari after intense pressure from Juventus and Matri skips past Cannavaro leaving him on the ground and slots past a helpless Buffon. Cagliari are there, they have reached the Promised Land as they lead mighty Juventus 2-0. Surely, surely, it is all over for Juve.
89′
Goal Alessandro Matri
86′
Yellow Card Luis Diego Lopez Breijo
85′
Giovinco tries his luck with a free-kick but Marchetti makes a wonderful save. Can Juve find a goal in the last five or so minutes of the game?
84′
Substitution
Mohamed Lamine Sissoko
Tiago
81′
Del Piero with a free-kick from the right but Chiellini's tap-in is cleared off the line. Wait...now Matri is sent through at the other end and there is no Juve defender but Buffon comes out and clears the ball. Brilliant football going on at the moment.
80′
Substitution
Cristian Molinaro
Sebastian Giovinco
79′
Another chance for Juventus as Molinaro fails to find the target. Juve are pressing on.
76′
WHAT A CHANCE! Diego floats in a free kick from near the byline but Amauri fails to connect properly with the ball with the ball, which falls to Sissoko and his shot takes a deflection and goes out for a corner. How long can Cagliari survive this Juventus onslaught?
75′
Another chance for Juve as a corner makes the players inside the Cagliari penalty scramble but nothing fruitful comes out of it.
73′
Diego tries to send Del Piero through but the Juventus legend cannot get to the ball. The World Cup winer has not looked very lively or creative since he has come on, but with the class and quality of Del Piero, you never know.
72′
Substitution
Andrea Cossu
Andrea Parola
70′
Now Amauri gets a yellow card for protesting. A cross is whipped in from the right and Amauri goes down claiming a penalty but it is not given. Frustrating times for Juve, who, though, are playing with more urgency.
70′
Yellow Card Amauri
69′
Yellow Card Andrea Cossu
68′
Cossu earns a yellow card for a foul on Diego. But the Cagliari player has worked tirelessly and has made the Juve defenders work hard too.
65′
MATRI!!!!! What a chance! A cross is looped in from the right but the Cagliari player can direct his header towards goal.
64′
Substitution
Andrea Lazzari
Daniele Dessena
63′
Things haven't improved much for Juventus, though, as they are still struggling to conjure up any concrete ideas.
63′
Things haven't improved much for Juventus, though, as they are still struggling to conjure up any concrete ideas.
60′
Nene comes off and Matri replaces him. Marchisio goes off for Juve and Del Piero comes on. Can the Juventus legend inspire his team in the remaining 30 or so minutes in this game?
60′
Substitution
Claudio Marchisio
Alessandro Del Piero
60′
Substitution
Nenê
Alessandro Matri
57′
The game has really come into life now as both sides are going out at each other. There is still a lack of top class quality and lack of ideas especially from Juventus but things are getting interesting at the moment.
54′
Cagliari on the break now as Cossu gallops with the ball along the right flank and then cuts it inside but it is subsequently cleared out of danger by Juve.
53′
Cossu tries a free-kick from distance but it is harmless. Meanwhile, Chiellini's nose is covered in blood.
52′
Yellow Card Mauro German Camoranesi
50′
Now Cagliari have a chance but this time Cossu couldn't control it. After a somewhat flat first half, the second session is really coming to life now.
49′
GOAL!!!!! NO NO NO! Amauri heads Caceres's cross into the Cagliari net but the referee adjudges it as an offside.
46′
Welcome back to the second half....
45′ +1
It's half-time here and it is Cagliari who lead the former Italian and European champions Juventus 1-0. Juve have been awful at times and the match has been pretty much scrappy overall, but Nene's thunderous strike should be noted. Can Juve restore parity in the second half? Rejoin us in 15 minutes.
45′
Poor ball from Diego. He gets a pass from Camoranesi on the right but instead of laying it off for Poulsen near him, he tries to switch play to the left side of the midfield and find no one as the ball goes out for a Cagliari throw-in.
44′
Diego takes yet another shot from just outside the Cagliari penalty area but it goes just wide of the far post. This is the second time that the Brazilian has tried to bear Marchetti from distance.
42′
Juventus have looked unimaginative in attack and have failed to string together threatening passes. They are going on the attack but when they have the ball, either they are getting dispossessed or do not know what to do with it and are coming up against Cagliri traffic.
42′
Yellow Card Jeda
39′
Jeda is sent through from the midfield with just three Juve shirts anywhere near but but the move eventually breaks down as Sissoko steals the ball. Juve are leaving gaps at the back and are leaving themselves open to counter-attacks.
38′
Marchisio receives the ball on the left, goes on a diagonal run across the pitch to the other side, looking for option, and eventually passes the ball to Camoranesi who then feeds Molinaro on the left but Molinaro puts it out. Disappointing end to what could have been a dangerous break for Juve.
35′
Camoranesi feeds Marchisio on the left but the midfielder's curling right-footer is off target. Good idea from him, though.
32′
Cagliari have deservedly gone into the lead. Juve are in utter disarray. They have no coherence or connection in attack, the midfield looks scrappy and they are at sixes and sevens at the back. Things are looking bleak at the moment for the Scudetto challengers.
30′
GOAL! GOAL! GOAL! One of the best goals seen anywhere in Europe this season! Nene goes for an ambitious shot from about 25 yards from the right and guess what: his right-footed shot curls into the top right corner of the net. Buffon is beaten at his near post but the Brazilian should be given due credit. It's Cagliari who take the lead.
30′
First real attack of the game from Juventus. Amauri, Sissoko, Diego all combine but the final ball is too long for Amauri as Marchetti collects the ball with ease.
30′
Goal Nenê
28′
Another corner for Cagliari....Jeda flicks it but there is no one to head the ball home. Juve survive another scare.
27′
Diego shoots!!!!!!! The Brazilian cuts inside from the right and takes a left-footed shot from outside the Cagliari penalty area but it is hit right at Marchetti.
25′
Brilliant challenge from Conti on Camoranesi. Caceres is dispossessed while making a run on the right but the ball falls kindly to the Italian, who then tries to launch his own run. But Conti makes a timely intervention.
23′
Conti tries a shot but Buffon makes a good save, Juve are looking vulnerable at the back, just like they did against Bordeaux in the Champions League in midweek.
20′
Juventus haven't looked very threatening in this match. Amauri has looked lonely upfront and Diego is not seeing too much of the ball of late.
18′
Conti takes the free-kick...it takes a deflection but is hit at Buffon. No harm done this time either.
17′
Cossuuuuu!!!!!! Juve lose possession of the ball cheaply near their penalty area and Andrea Cossu is sent through. But he is pulled down by Sissoko. Referee gives the hosts the free-kick....
17′
Yellow Card Mohamed Lamine Sissoko
15′
It's been a scrappy game so far as both Juve and Cagliari have committed a few fouls and have yet to demonstrate any real quality in this match.
13′
But it's hit straight at Machetti. It was a very submissive shot indeed.
12′
Juve earn a free kick from over 30 yards from goal.....
10′
WHAT A CHANCE!! Juventus have been doing all the running in this game so far but it is Cagliari who create the first genuine chance. Jeda whips in a dangerous from the right into the Juve penalty area but Lazzari is somehow scuffled off the ball.
9′
Molinaro tries to float in a cross from the left side but Cagliari goalkeeper Marchetti catches the ball easily.
7′
Juventus are winning most of the battles in the midfield at the moment but they haven't created anything concrete so far.
5′
Good move from Juventus. Caceres passes the ball from the right to Diego in the centre of midfield and the Brazilian then feeds it to Molinaro on the left, who runs through the Cagliari backline but his cross is slightly disappointing.
2′
Juventus are playing in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Amauri as the lone striker upfront.
1′
And here we get underway.....
Juve lost to Bordeaux in the Champions League in midweek and this has put pressure on coach Ciro Ferrara. The visitors have to win today.
Hello and welcome to Goal.com's LIVE coverage of the Serie A match between Cagliari and Juventus. The Old Lady are second in the table and a win could close the gap on league leaders Inter, should the Nerazzurri get defeated by Fiorentina at home.
