  • And the referee blows the full-time whistle at Celtic Park as the SPL champions complete a remarkable turnaround during which they had to dig deep to progress to the Champions League group stages.
  • The Hoops progress to the group stage of the CL after winning the tie 3-2 on aggregate thanks to goals from Commons, Samaras and Forrest. That's about all from me this evening but thanks for tuning in and make sure to stick with for all the reaction shortly. Until next time, goodnight!

  • 83'
    SubstitutionAndrey Finonchenko Igor Zenkovich
The visitors make their first change as captain Andrei Finonchenko makes way for Igor Zenkovich.
  • 81'
Samaras races hard to pick up a long Forrest pass. He tries to cross in towards Boerttigter, who has been on the pitch for seconds, but Mokin is able to take the catch before the Dutchman can reach the ball.
  • 79'
    SubstitutionKris Commons Derk Boerrigter
Kris Commons goes off to a standing ovation as recent recruit Derk Boerrigter comes on for the hosts. Just ten minutes remaining now...
  • 78'
CHANCE! Samaras avoids a challenge from Simcevic to cross the ball in towards Commons, but his shots is saved. Stokes attempts to lash in the rebound but the keeper stops that too before a Ledley effort is blocked by Dzidic.

Forrest shows superb skill with his feet to play his way into the box, but he waits too long to take the shot, and gets no power behind the ball, providing Mokin with an easy save in the end.
  • 73'
Finonchenko is caught by Ambrose but play carries on before the referee halts play. He appears to be in a lot of pain and after a bit of treatment seems fine to continue

  • 67'

  • 66'
The way things stand, we're heading into extra-time and possible beyond but there's still plenty of time left for either side to find a winner. One thing is for sure, we're in for a nail-biting last twenty minutes of regulation time.
  • 65'
The game has opened up now. Both sides are looking to take the lead, which is creating space to attack.
  • 63'
INCREDIBLE! Celtic survive a second major scare in a matter of a minutes as that long throw causes the Hoops all sorts of problems once again and they are so lucky to survive as the ball crashes back of the crossbar and bounces to safety.
  • 62'
You could cut the tension around Celtic Park with a knife as we head into the final thirty minutes of this intriguing tie.
  • 60'
CLEARED OFF THE LINE! At the other end, Celtic go within inches of falling behind on aggregate and needing two more goals to progress. Adam Matthews makes a brilliant clearance off the line, as Forster comes off his line to clear a Finonchenko corner, before the Welsh defender calmly kicks the ball away from the Celtic net from a Canas effort.
  • 59'
OFF THE BAR! James Forrest goes on a brilliant weaving run down the left before sending in a delightful cross to the back post to pick out the unmarked Stokes but the Irish striker hammers his effort onto the bar from six yards.
  • 55'
Karaganda give their opponents another free kick around 25 yards out. Commons tries to delivery it into the box, but the wall does it's job. The visitors haven't defended well against set pieces this evening, but they got it right that time.
  • 53'
Samaras is having a cracking game and it's his good work on the left once again that leads to another corner for Celtic. The set-piece is wasted but the hosts keep the pressure on and Forrest manufactures some space on the left before drilling a shot over the top.
  • 52'
Karaganda try to hit back straight away, but Ghazarian is ruled offside. It wouldn't have mattered though, as Forster was able to easily take the ball. This is going to be a tense final 40 minutes for both sides.
  • 48'
    Assist M. Lustig
  • 48'
    Goal Georgios Samaras
A corner is only half-cleared and when an attempted shot falls for the big Greek, he shows great composure to take a touch and fire past the keeper from 10 yards.
  • 46'
GOAL! This tie has been turned on its head five minutes either side of the break as Samaras fires the hosts level from ten yards.
  • 46'
Celtic are on the attack straight away as the ball is crossed in for Joe Ledley, but the Wales international doesn't manage to control the ball in time.
  • 46'
Celtic, in their famous green and white hooped shirts, get the second half started. Neil Lennon's side still need one more goal to draw the play-off level.
  • And that's half-time! That goal was exactly what the hosts needed to lift spirits at the break and they're in with a great chance of over-turning this deficit after a largely frustrating first period.
  • Celtic's only disappointment may be that they haven't already got back on level terms. They had five efforts on goal in the opening 45 minutes. The visitors have had applied some pressure as they look for a vital away goal, but it was a quiet opening spell for Fraser Forster.

  • Celtic really have been the dominant side so far this evening, and their hard work paid off just before half time. Kris Commons' wonder strike has got the Scottish champions right back in this tie. They have 45 minutes to find at least one more.
  • 45' + 1'
    Assist Georgios Samaras
  • 45' + 1'
    Goal Kris Commons
GOAL!!!! The ball breaks to Kris Commons on the edge of the area after Samaras had cut in from the left and the former Derby County needed no second invitation to shoot from range, giving the 'keeper no chance with an unstoppable effort from 30-yards into the corner.
  • 44'

  • 43'

  • 36'
    Yellow Card R. Cañas
  • 36'
BOOKING! Roger Canas gets a yellow card for a clumsy tackle on Efe Ambrose as Neil Lennon looks on. The Celtic boss looks increasingly worried and will need to deliver a pretty important team-talk at the break.
  • 35'
A bit of a scuffle breaks out, as the Karaganda players aren't happy that Ledley ran into their keeper, but the referee quickly breaks it up without having to get his cards out again. Things are just getting a little heated with ten minutes until the break.
  • 35'
Stokes takes the set-piece but his effort is tame and easily dealt with before Ledley is penalised for a foul on the 'keeper.
  • 33'
Celtic get the ball back down the other end. Mulgrew struggles to find a way into the box, so passes out wide to Matthews. The Welshman tries to cross it in for Samaras, but it's blocked by Poryvaev. However, Samaras picks the ball up from the clearance, and wins a free kick around 25 yards out.
  • 31'
A clash with Brown leaves Vicius down and needing treatment, he's helped to the sideline rubbing his ribs, but it looks like he's alright to continue. Meanwhile, Karaganda apply pressure inside the Celtic half yet again, but a lose ball towards the penalty area bobbles harmlessly into Forster's arms.
  • 29'
Celtic have enjoyed 63% possession in the first half hour at Celtic Park but have nothing to show for it just yet. The crowd are just starting to get a little frustrated as the visitors seemed to have weathered the early storm and have settled.
  • 26'
A couple of readers getting in touch via Twitter @RyanBailey37 claiming Celtic just need to stay patient as their inferior opponents will tire as the game goes on. Easier said then done but keep the comments and predictions coming
  • 25'
A better spell for Karagandy who appear to have weathered that early storm. They look very dangerous from set-pieces and the long throw-in
  • 23'
Karaganda are on the attack as Khiznichenko finds Canas down the left wing. The visitors win a corner, which Vicius launches deep into the box, but Roger Canas rushes his finish, slicing the ball high into the stand.
  • 21'
It has been all Celtic in the opening 20 minutes, but the Scottish champions are yet to reduce the 2-0 deficit, mostly due to the heroics of Shakhter goalkeeper Aleksandr Mokin.
  • 20'
Celtic win another free kick from a similar position. Again, it's Common who takes it, but Mulgrew can't get anywhere near it. He looks to the referee, claiming that he was held back, but the officials aren't interested.
  • 19'
It's been a pretty dominant start by the hosts but the longer this half goes on without a goal, then you just get the feeling it could be one of those nights. However, still plenty of time remaining. Get in touch with your comments and predictions via Twitter @RyanBailey37 and I'll post some of the best ones here...
  • 18'
    Yellow Card Aleksandar Simčević
  • 18'
Simčević goes into the book for hacking Samaras down on the left, nothing comes of the free-kick.
  • 16'
Celtic win a free kick from a dangerous position. Commons takes it and goes directly got goal. Mokin parries the initial delivery away, before Poryvaev puts it behind for a corner.
  • 15'
It's all Celtic here. Surely only a matter of time until they make the breakthrough.
  • 14'
CHANCE! Mokin makes a superb stop to deny Anthony Stokes from close range. The Dublin-born striker tried to drill the ball in low, but the keeper showed superb reactions yet again.
  • 12'
Mulgrew delivers a dangerous ball into the box for Samaras, but the striker is being closely marked by Poryvaev and Dzidic and doesn't have enough room to get a clear header away. He ends up hitting the deck as a result of a challenge by Dzidic, but his appeals for a penalty are waved away.
  • 10'
Celtic respond and Stokes rounds the keeper but can't get his shot away from a tight angle. In the end his attempted cut back is hacked out for a corner.
  • 9'
Positive opening from Celtic, clearly going for an early goal to settle their nerves.
  • 7'
Mulgrew wins the ball back in midfield before finding Samaras on the edge of the box, but the striker can't find a way into the penalty area. Khizhnichenko breaks on the counter attack, but goes for it from too far out. Forster makes the save, but it looks like it was heading wide anyway.
  • 6'
SAVE! Aleksandr Mokin pulls off a stunning stop to keep out Lustig's goalbound header following a pinpoint centre by Commons on the right.
  • 5'
Celtic produce their first really dangerous move as Stokes crosses the ball in for Samaras. The Greek striker doesn't quite reach the ball, but it is eventually put out for a corner.
  • 4'
Finonchenko delivers a long free kick looking for Khiznichenko inside the Celtic box, but Forster comes off his line to comfortably claim the ball.
  • 3'
Tonight's referee is Svein Oddvar Moen from Norway. Celtic straight onto the attack and immediately have a weak shout for a penalty as the ball bounces up off a Shakhter defender in the area. No spot kick given and rightly so.
  • 2'
Good start from Shakhter, who are not looking like they will sit back and simply defend their 2-0 lead.
  • 1'
And we're underway at Celtic Park, strap yourself in for a rollercoaster ninety minutes, or potentially extra-time and penalties.
  • There's just time for a quick handshake and team photos ahead of kickoff. Celtic are lining up in a 4-4-2 formation, while Karaganda are going 4-5-1.
  • The decibel levels inside Celtic Park have risen further as the Uefa Champions League anthem is played before the two sides go through the customary pre-game handshakes.
  • The two sides are lining up in the tunnel and are ready to emerge onto a fairly imaculate looking playing surface.
  • With just five minutes until the teams emerge from the dressing rooms, the atmosphere is inevitably building inside Celtic Park as the home fans look to spur their side onto victory.
  • Whichever side goes on to win this tie will find out who they will face in the group stage tomorrow evening, when the draw for the next round takes place. Should Celtic overturn the first-leg deficit, they'll be one of five British clubs in tomorrow's draw.
  • Neil Lennon's team have yet to concede a home goal in this season's qualifiers, having beaten Northern Ireland's Cliftonville FC 2-0 and IF Elfsborg of Sweden 1-0.
  • What do you think will happen this evening? Can the Hoops turn this tie around and qualify for the group stages for the second successive season or will Shakhter make history? Let me know your thoughts and predictions on Twitter @RyanBailey37
  • Viktor Kumyov reckons it wouldn't be the end of the world if they don't progress: "It won't be a tragedy for us if we don't qualify for the Champions League group stages. As we stated before, the main task was to qualify for the group stage of a European competition and we have achieved this anyway. It may be even better if we don't qualify for the group stages because in football it is always better to develop gradually."
  • Shakhter have already pulled off a shock in this season’s competition. The Kazakh side knocked out BATE Borisov in the second qualifying round and according to their manager Celtic will concede two goals this evening.
  • Celtic boss Neil Lennon "If we concede one we need to score four. If we concede two, according to their manager, then we'll score five. I think their confidence is very dangerous and it can always come back to bite you. This is a two-game tie."
  • Celtic make three changes to their team from the first leg. Out go Emilio Izaguirre, Virgil van Dijk and Steven Mouyokolo. In come Adam Matthews, Efe Ambrose and Anthony Stokes. Shakhter, perhaps unsurprisingly, are unchanged.
  • SHAKHTER KARAGANDY: Mokin, Vasiljevic, Poryvaev, Dzidic, Maliy, Simcevic, Vicius, Ghazaryan, Canas, Finonchenko, KhizhnichenkoSubs: Pokatilov, Tarasov, Gabyshev, Bayzhanov, Darabayev, Murtazayev, Zenkovich.
  • CELTIC: Forster, Matthews, Ambrose, Lustig, Mulgrew, Forrest, Brown, Ledley, Commons, Samaras, StokesSubs: Zaluska, Izaguirre, Boerrigter, Van Dijk, Balde, Watt, McGeouch
  • The talking and build-up is nearly over and here is the team news as we approach kick-off....
  • While Neil Lennon's side have also won six of their last eight European fixtures in Glasgow, including a memorable 2-1 victory over Barcelona last season.
  • Celtic can take heart from the fact that four times previously they have returned to Glasgow with a 2-0 first-leg deficit to overcome in UEFA competition – and three times they have pulled off a successful fightback.
  • Shakhter beat the SPL Champions 2-0 in Astana last Tuesday to move to within ninety minutes of becoming the first team from Kazakhstan to reach the coveted group stages. Can the Hoops overturn the first-leg deficit on front of their passionate home fans?
  • Hello and welcome to's LIVE coverage of this evening's Champions League Play-off round second-leg tie between Celtic and Shakhter Karagandy from Celtic Park in Glasgow. Kick off is just half an hour away at 19.45 BST
