    K. Navas

Positioning wasn't great for the opening goal as Sergio Ramos scored from close to the goalline. However, kept Levante in with a shout with a string of solid saves, most notably from a Benzema strike from the edge of the box that looked destined for the corner.

  • David Navarro

    David Navarro

Made two outstanding blocks inside the area from Modric and Ronaldo, respectively. Allowed Benzema absolutely no time and was always looking to get in and nick the ball early.

  • Héctor Rodas

    Héctor Rodas

Put in a lot of dominant headers inside the box. However, rashly ran out of the box, which left the space for Morata to run into for the late equaliser.

  • Juan García García

    Juan García García

Displayed a veteran head at left-back and and never attempted anything that would endanger the backline. However, turned his back on Ronaldo in the last minute as the ball deflected off him to give Madrid the winner.

  • Pedro López

    Pedro López

Kept Ronaldo relatively at bay when the Madrid man was employed on the left-hand side and didn't allow him too much room to manoeuvre. Faired okay offensively, too, and was always available for a pass on the overlap.

  • Rubén
    12
    9
    3.00

    Rubén

Recovered from an extremely poor challenge from Coentrao early doors to be a real menace down the left, and eventually the right. Has a trick or two in his locker and was always looking to pick out incisive passes drifting inside.

  • Xumi
    14
    8
    3.50

    Xumi

Looked bright from the get-go and was always a threat on the wing breaking forward at pace. Earned a superb assist when he burst inside and chipped a lovely pass to the back post for the opening goal.

  • Diop
    13
    11
    3.00

    Diop

Was certainly up for the battle in the middle of the park and was always professionally putting the boot in to try and claw back possession. Was slighly less effective after receiving a nasty blow to the face from Khedira's studs.

  • Simão
    12
    12
    3.00

    Simão

Displayed a touch of class in the middle and showed composure whenever Levante were under the cosh. Displayed a terrific engine and was still pressing Madrid even in the latter stages.

  • Baba Diawara
    27
    11
    3.50

    Baba Diawara

Was a thorn in the side of Madrid from the get-go and was involved in a real battle up top with the Madrid centre-backs. Topped off a great performance by scoring the opening goal with a terrifically taken half-volley at the back post.

  • Andreas Ivanschitz
    13
    11
    3.00

    Andreas Ivanschitz

Was employed in the hole behind the striker but didn't really prosper too much in the position. Faired better when he drifted deeper and was able to spray balls about the park.

    Nabil El Zhar

Thought he had won the match for Levante when he twisted and turned inside the area before smashing a strike into the corner.

  • Sergio da Silva Pinto

    11

    Sergio da Silva Pinto

Made a late cameo, so did not have enough time to impress.

  • David Barral
    9
    12

    David Barral

Showed some decent touches but didn't provide the same physical presence up top as Baba.

  • Diego López Rodríguez
    192
    72
    3.00

    Diego López Rodríguez

Wasn't his usual commanding self when dealing with aerial balls but shot stopping was still top drawer. Denied Ruben Garcia with a superb glove to tip the ball over the bar.

  • Raphaël Varane
    278
    21
    3.00

    Raphaël Varane

Certainly knew he was in the match tonight as he battled away with Diawara. Came out second best a couple of times but gave as good as he got. Burst out of defence occasionally to mount some attacks.

  • Sergio Ramos
    232
    35
    3.00

    Sergio Ramos

Put in a captain's performance to claw his side back into the match. Earned Madrid's vital first equaliser when he drifted in at the back post to stab the ball home. Calm and collected at the back and didn't lose his head.

  • Fabio Coentrao
    85
    181
    2.50

Fabio Coentrao Flop of the Match

Was arguably lucky to be on the pitch just a couple of minutes into the game when he raked his studs down the shin of Ruben. Didn't offer too much offensively and was replaced by Marcelo moments after Madrid went 1-0 down.

  • Arbeloa
    62
    190
    2.50

    Arbeloa

Struggled to deal with the pace of Xumetra Ruben whenever they were on the left-hand side. Cynically brought down Juanfran with a shoulder barge to go into the book and was pretty limp going forward.

  • Sami Khedira
    121
    127
    3.00

    Sami Khedira

The German was much needed in the middle of the park tonight and looked as if he enjoyed the fight. Didn't do much in terms of distribution as he was simply there to put out fires.

  • Luka Modric
    418
    36
    3.00

    Luka Modric

Didn't affect the game too much from deep, despite sliding the ball out neatly to the wings. Faired better when he moved further ahead as Madrid attacked in the last 20 minutes, and grabbed an assist for Ronaldo's winner.

  • Ángel Di María
    196
    74
    3.00

    Ángel Di María

Second half wasn't great, as his decision-making and crossing was questionable. However, recovered well and caused Levante problems with his twisting and powerful dribbles in the final third.

  • Isco
    159
    140
    3.00

    Isco

One of his quieter games in a Madrid shirt. Slotted into the hole well like usual and introduced others into the game, but just struggled to pick out his signature penetrative passes.

  • C. Ronaldo
    449
    69
    3.50

    C. Ronaldo Top of the Match

Had as quiet a first half as you will ever see from the Portuguese, but burst into life in the latter stages. Struck the post with a dragged shot from the left but stole the points for los Blancos with his deflected last-minute winner.

  • Karim Benzema
    103
    248
    3.00

    Karim Benzema

Arguably needed to be more selfish up top as he held the ball up reasonably well, but despite a powerful shot from the inside-left channel, never really looked like finding the net.

Substitutions

  • Marcelo
    319
    20
    3.00

    Marcelo

Offered a lot more than Coentrao at left-back and probably thought he had scored when he sent a rasper of a shot towards goal from 25 yards, only to see it saved.

  • Jesé Rodríguez
    280
    35
    3.50

    Jesé Rodríguez

Buzzed around the left after coming on and showed some endeavour during his small amount of time on the pitch.

  • Morata
    414
    18
    3.50

    Morata

Scored the important Madrid equaliser as he took a superb touch inside the box before sending a precise shot into the bottom left corner.
