So an impressive performance from the Magpies, who played some excellent football, particularly in the first half. West Ham boss Sam Allardyce will be encouraged by his side's second half display but he has a tough job on his hands to turn around the club's woeful run of form. Bye for now.
90' + 6'
There's no time for more action and Andre Marriner blows the whistle for full time. Newcastle are jubilant as they bring a four-game losing run to an end.

Goal Yohan Cabaye
GOAL! A clumsy challenge by Andy Carroll on Hatem Ben Arfa hands the visitors a free kick just outside the box. Yohan Cabaye swings a delicious free kick to the near post that Adrian can only palm into the post and the net. Game over.
90' + 3'
Joe Cole looks to make something happen but he is flagged offside. Newcastle take their time to get the game restarted to the ire of Sam Allardyce.
90' + 1'
Into FIVE minutes of stoppage time as the tireless Stewart Downing wins another corner. Joe Cole's delivery is cleared before Downing has a chance to cross again but James Collins slashes wide.
Joe Cole plays a teasing cross towards Carlton Cole. The ball eventually falls to the feet of Andy Carroll, but Cheick Tiote nips in to win the ball back and make the clearance. Time running out for the home side.
The players are fine to continue and we are off and running again. West Ham have a decent spell of possession but they are going nowhere at the moment.
Lengthy stoppage in play as Moussa Sissoko and Razvan Rat need treatment after an accidental clash of heads.
Newcastle look to take the sting out of the game as they stroke the ball about near the centre circle. They eventually venture forward through Hatem Ben Arfa, who shoots wide from a long way out.
More good work from Stewart Downing as he wins a corner. He takes the set-piece himself but Newcastle clear. Downing has another chance to play in a cross from the right but he fails to find a team-mate.
Moussa Sissoko takes aim from distance but it sails well over the crossbar. The visitors make their final change, bringing on Hatem Ben Arfa for the excellent Loic Remy.
Hatem Ben Arfa
ANOTHER MISS! Stewart Downing rampages to the byeline and delivers a low cross which deflects off Tim Krul and falls kindly to Andy Carroll, who slashes wildly over the ball from six yards out. Glorious chance.
Shola Ameobi wins a free kick after being fouled by Roger Johnson but Yohan Cabaye's delivery is straight into the arms of Adrian. Alan Pardew hooks Davide Santon and brings on Paul Dummett.
Andy Carroll cannot control his header from Stewart Downing's back-post cross as it loops up off his head and falls to a Newcastle defender. West Ham make their final change of the match as Joe Cole comes on to replace Matt Jarvis in a like-for-like swap.
Newcastle pass the ball around in midfield with no urgency before Yohan Cabaye loses possession to Ravel Morrison.
Adrian has to be alert to hold on to a Shola Ameobi effort that bounces and skips in front of him. Terrific defending from Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa at the other end as he wins the ball back of the speedy Matt Jarvis.
A quarter of the game left to play and it is hard to say which way this game will go. Yohan Cabaye fires a looping effort from distance which Adrian gathers easily.
Andy Carroll nearly makes an instant impact as he rushes to meet Stewart Downing's cross but Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa holds firm to shepherd the ball out. The defender took a knock in the process but is fine to continue.
West Ham respond with a positive change of their own as Andy Carroll is brought on against his former club in place of Mohamed Diame. The visiting fans inside Upton Park greet the big Geordie's arrival with loud jeering.
Newcastle make a positive change as Shola Ameobi is on for Vurnon Anita. They're clearly not settling for their lead, the visitors.
Decent little spell this for West Ham as they pin the visitors back into their own half. Matt Jarvis has a couple of opportunities to fire in a cross from the left but he cannot find a team-mate with both attempts.
WHAT A MISS! Carlton Cole fires inexplicably wide when it seemed easier to score after being found by a great pass from Matthew Taylor. That has to be a candidate for miss of the season, surely.
West Ham fans rise to their feet as Andy Carroll begins warming up on the sidelines. Mohamed Diame and Carlton Cole have back-to-back shots blocked by the visiting defence as the Hammers look to up the ante.
West Ham have a promising free kick on the edge of the box to the right of goal, which Mark Noble takes. James Collins is on hand to meet the delivery with a rising header that goes wide of the bar.
Mike Williamson's own goal does not seem to have rattled the visitors, who look very assured in possession. So far, so good for them in that respect.
Mohamed Diame looks to muscle his way through a couple of defenders but Steven Taylor stands firm to win the ball back.
CHANCE! West Ham are opened up too easily again as Yohan Cabaye plays in Loic Remy, whose side-footed effort is saved well by Adrian.
Newcastle get the ball rolling and we are underway in the second half. West Ham make a change right away, with Ravel Morrison on for Jack Collison.
So West Ham are right back in it then after Mike Williamson's unfortunate intervention despite being played off the park for much of the half. Sam Allardyce has no shortage of attacking options should he need them, with the likes of Ravel Morrison and Andy Carroll on the bench, so we should be in for a tasty second half.

Own Goal Mike Williamson
WEST HAM PULL ONE BACK! And it's a goal out of nothing as Razvan Rat's long cross is stabbed towards goal by Carlton Cole. The ball rebounds off Tim Krul and is played into the net by the diving Mike Williamson for an own goal. Andre Marriner blows the whistle for half time almost immediately after. What drama.
Newcastle are all over the opponents here as Loic Remy exchanges passes with Vurnon Anita but swings at thin air as he misses the return ball.
Upton Park is flat as a pancake as Newcastle pass the ball around comfortably in the West Ham half. The home side eventually regain possession at the back but Yohan Cabaye pressures Matthew Taylor and concedes a throw-in.
Stewart Downing goes on a lung-bursting run down the right and does well to win the corner off Davide Santon. Downing's delivery is headed away by Mike Williamson before Cheick Tiote has a shot blocked at the other end by Roger Johnson.
West Ham nearly force an opening as a long free-kick eventually reaches the feet of Mohamed Diame, whose cross/shot from the right goes across the face of goal and behind for a goal kick.
This is almost too easy for the visitors. Yohan Cabaye is allowed plenty of space as he curls an effort to the top corner from 20 yards out that Adrian dives full stretch to save.
A smattering of boos rang out around Upton Park as soon as that goal went in. It will be hard for the Hammers to come back from this.

Goal Loïc Remy
GOAL! Superb team goal from Newcastle as some nifty build-up play ends with Moussa Sissoko playing a perfect cross to the feet of Loic Remy, who finishes with ease from close range.
Cheick Tiote plays a searching cross to Yohan Cabaye, whose cut-back from the left is far too close to Adrian.
A West Ham free-kick is flicked on by Carlton Cole to Stewart Downing, who swivels before firing straight at Tim Krul.
Remy is back on the field much to the disappointment of the home side. The Frenchman has already caused numerous problems to the Hammers' defence.
Loic Remy takes a blow to the head and has to leave the field of play to stop the bleeding. It does not look a serious injury though, so he should be okay to continue.
Moussa Sissoko creates another opening but his effort is straight at Adrian, who nearly makes a mess of it but manages to hold on.
West Ham look to mount a response as Razvan Rat feeds Carlton Cole but the latter's effort is blocked by a defender and loops up to be caught by Tim Krul.
OFF THE LINE! A Newcastle corner finds its way to Yoan Gouffran, whose weak effort has to be cleared off the line by Mark Noble at the far post.
West Ham look stunned by that goal as Yoan Gouffran nearly sneaks in a second, but James Collins lunges at the winger's feet to get in the block.

Goal Yohan Cabaye
NEWCASTLE SCORE! And what a magnificent finish that is from Yohan Cabaye. Yoan Gouffran lays the ball off after a driving run allowing the midfielder to side foot a sweet finish into the corner of the net. It's 1-0 to the visitors.
Matthew Taylor finds Matt Jarvis with a searching diagonal ball but the winger cannot play in a telling cross.
James Collins' long punt forward is played out for a throw-in by Mike Williamson with Carlton Cole lurking. Newcastle then go up the other end through Loic Remy, who fires a rising shot from 30 yards out that Adrian does well to hold on to.
Davide Santon looks to force the issue with a shot from long range but it sails harmlessly wide. Encouraging spell this for the visitors.
CHANCE! Out of nowhere Newcastle fashion an opening as Loic Remy manages to give Matthew Taylor the slip with a quick turn and fires wide through what appears to be a deflection off Roger Johnson.
Newcastle have a free-kick near the halfway line which Tim Krul lumps into the West Ham box. James Collins gets the better of Loic Remy to head it away and the home side can regroup.
It's all West Ham in the opening minutes as a long Razvan Rat throw-in is headed away by Mike Williamson. Stewart Downing then plays in a teasing cross from the right but Newcastle just about manage to clear.

TEAM NEWS: Fit-again striker Andy Carroll starts on the bench again for West Ham but Guy Demel, James Tomkins and Kevin Nolan are all unavailable, while Newcastle name the same team that lost to Manchester City last weekend. Full line-ups to follow shortly.
Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is under pressure himself after seeing his side slump to four straight defeats in all competitions, bringing to an end an impressive sequence of seven wins in nine matches. The Geordies have also failed to score in their last three matches in the league but they will back themselves to end that run against West Ham’s injury-ravaged defence.
West Ham secured a much-needed three points at Cardiff City last Saturday to move out of the relegation zone, ending a disastrous week - in which they conceded 11 goals in two cup matches - on a positive note. That victory was the injury-hit Hammers’ first in the league since November, and manager Sam Allardyce will hope the result sparks a turnaround in the club’s fortunes.
