The Reds moved to the top of the Premier League after holding out for a point following a resurgent second half from the Swans, with Jonjo Shelvey the key figure

    Michel Vorm

Made a great point-blank save to deny a Sturridge header and got down well to prevent Wisdom. Could do little to prevent the first goal but positioning not ideal for the second.

    Chico

Looked composed at the back alongside Williams and made some important headers. Could do little about the goals.

    Ashley Williams

Put in some vital challenges and won some important headers, and always played the ball out well from the back. Immense.

    Ángel Rangel

Moses caused him plenty of problems in the first half but he grew as the game went on. Effective at both ends of the pitch.

    Ben Davies

Made a vital block to thwart a Henderson effort, following a dangerous Liverpool counter-attack. Got forward well and always produced a dangerous delivery.

    Leon Britton

Kept Swansea's possession ticking over nicely at times, and played a key role in his side's equaliser.

  • Jonjo Shelvey

Jonjo Shelvey Top of the Match

A very mixed game. Took his goal against his former club brilliantly, coolly and with great composure. Soon played two suicidal balls to gift Liverpool two goals. His confidence appeared to be affected until he flicked on well for Michu's equaliser.

  • Michu
    77
    9
    3.50

    Michu

Had a quiet start to the game, but linked up more and more with Bony as it went on. Was always looking to get a shot away and converted brilliantly for his goal.

  • Nathan Dyer
    25
    9
    2.50

    Nathan Dyer

Made some dangerous forays infield from the right and came close to scoring. Taken off at the break.

  • Wayne Routledge
    22
    9
    2.50

    Wayne Routledge

Flashed in and out of the game. Always looked lively when he was involved, but was ultimately not involved enough for his side.

  • Wilfried Bony
    35
    20
    2.50

    Wilfried Bony

Looked very strong and was a handful for the Liverpool defence, while he brought a good stop out of Mignolet. His link-up play could have been better, however.

    Jonathan De Guzmán

Produced one excellent cross to pick out Michu in the middle, while he was more effective at keeping hold of the ball than the man he replaced in Dyer. Came close to scoring twice from long distance, too.

  • Pozuelo

    2.50

    Pozuelo

Showed some neat touches and fitted in well as Swansea grew into the game during its final stages.

  • Simon Mignolet

    3.00

    Simon Mignolet

Made some important saves to deny strong strikes from Bony and Michu, while there was little he could do to prevent both goals. Had Skrtel to thank after fumbling an effort from Dyer, however.

  • José Enrique
    57
    32
    2.50

    José Enrique

A quiet game for the left-back. Got forward well early on but was mostly restricted to his own half as Liverpool were pegged back. Solid but unspectacular.

  • Mamadou Sakho
    77
    65
    3.00

    Mamadou Sakho

At fault for Shelvey's goal in the opening few minutes, allowing the midfielder to get past him far too easily. Grew with confidence as the game went on and will only get better. Tough game in which to make his Premier League debut.

  • Martin Skrtel
    145
    14
    3.50

    Martin Skrtel

Was unlucky after making a good block in the build-up to Shelvey's strike, but made a stunning goal-saving challenge to deny Bony from converting a close-range rebound later on. A solid performance.

  • Andre Wisdom
    33
    68
    2.50

    Andre Wisdom

Did everything asked of him at the back, but failed to make too much of an impact higher up the pitch. Substituted after picking up a booking.

  • Steven Gerrard
    83
    37
    3.00

    Steven Gerrard

Saw plenty of the ball in the first half and made some lung-busting runs early on. Faded as the game went on as he captained Liverpool for the 400th time.

  • Coutinho
    110
    27
    4.00

    Coutinho

Tried to get hold of the ball as much as possible and was always involved when Liverpool pushed forward. His touch and technique were as excellent as ever. Sadly forced off with injury in the second half.

  • Victor Moses
    138
    20
    3.00

    Victor Moses

Took his goal superbly, and still had it all to do after intercepting Shelvey's pass on the half-way line. Very dangerous at times but started the game quietly before being taken off in the second half.

  • Jordan Henderson
    43
    68
    2.00

    Jordan Henderson

Looked pretty lost in the middle at times and saw little of the ball as Gerrard and Coutinho pulled the strings around him. Improved in the second half, though.

  • Lucas Leiva
    48
    54
    2.00

    Lucas Leiva

Did not offer as much protection to his defence as he has been known for in the past. Struggled when Swansea played between the lines.

  • Daniel Sturridge
    119
    30
    3.50

    Daniel Sturridge

His fine start to the season continues. He put himself expertly in the right place at the right time for his goal, and still had a bit of work to do with the finish. Always looked lively and demanded the ball.

Substitutions

  • Kolo Toure

    Kolo Toure

Came on for Wisdom after the youngster picked up a booking. Looked uncomfortable on the right-hand side.

  • Raheem Sterling
    51
    33
    2.00

    Raheem Sterling

Had little impact on the game as Liverpool were forced to defend desperately late on.

  • Iago Aspas
    40
    78
    2.50

    Iago Aspas

Made a decent impact off the bench with his pace, causing Swansea's defence problems as they tired in the second half.
