To Italy now! Where Kris 'The Professor' Voakes gives us his thoughts ahead of the Azzurri's impending battle against Malta:

"Cesare Prandelli's men have a little ground to make up in terms of public opinion after Friday's draw in Sofia, but they've come through bigger tests than Malta before when coming off the back of a disappointing performance.

"The change in system and large-scale switch in personnel suggests that Prandelli sees the Maltese as a very different kind of opponents to Bulgaria, and he'd be right. The 4-3-1-2 with two recognised centre forwards gives them more of an obvious threat, while the employment of Alessandro Diamanti suggests there should be plenty of supply to the onrushing midfield as well as Pablo Daniel Osvaldo and Mattia Destro up top.

"If Italy lose, I'll eat my hat."

He actually will eat his hat, I'll make sure of it.

What do you think folks? Will the Azzurri bounce back quickly?

Enough of me for a moment, lets hear what Spain expert Ben Hayward has to say ahead of La furia Roja's opening match of their title defence this evening:

"Spain start the defence of their World Cup crown away to Georgia this evening. Defending champions must qualify these days and that means La Roja cannot afford to relax, despite dominating over the last few years and winning their last three major tournaments. The same side will now look to for an historic quadruple in Brazil - but they have to get there first.

"Spain have not lost a World Cup qualifier for 20 years and their last competitive defeat came in 2010, so anything but progress will be a huge shock. Nevertheless, a trip to Tbilisi represents a tricky start and Vicente del Bosque will want maximum concentration from his players this evening."
