SECOND HALF

Peeep! Peeeeep! Off we go again around Europe. One change for Manchester City at the break, with Mr Boring-But-Very-Reliable James Milner replacing Jesus Navas.

PSG 2-1 BARCELONA - RECAP

Tom Webber reports: “Les Parisiens take the lead into the interval as, although David Luiz's opener was quickly cancelled out by a strike from Lionel Messi, Marco Verratti's header saw them take control of the game. Both teams have played some lovely football so far, but Barca have been too sloppy at times and have been caught on the ball unnecessarily.”

MAN CITY 1-1 ROMA - RECAP

Chris Baker reports: “If Manuel Pellegrini doesn't make a change to his personnel then surely he needs to alter the shape of his team. They could revert to a 4-2-3-1 and just ask Sergio Aguero to drop into a deeper position. Because at the moment City are being completely overrun in midfield. At times it has been four against two in Roma's favour in the centre of the park.”

SPORTING 0-1 CHELSEA - RECAP

Keeghann Sinanan reports: “Jose Mourinho's only complaint at the break will be that his team are not out of sight. Diego Costa and Andre Schurrle both spurned excellent chances, with the German particularly wasteful throughout. It took a Nemanja Matic header for the visitors to get the goal - and the lead - that they fully deserved.”

MAN CITY 1-1 ROMA - HART TO THE RESCUE!

Joe Hart, partly at fault for the goal after slipping when racing out to narrow the angle, makes a great save just before half-time to deny Gervinho. The Ivorian gets the better of Gael Clichy but can only sting the palms of Hart with a powerful effort.

MAN CITY 1-1 ROMA - CITY PENALTY???

Not given! Manchester City could easily have a second penalty here. Jesus Navas delivers across the box and the ball strikes the trailing arm of Kostas Manolas. No pen, says the referee and his officials. Definitely one for the SEEN EM GIVEN category.

PSG 2-1 BARCELONA - BECKHAM WATCH

It’s a star-studded line-up on the pitch in Paris, and it’s not a bad one off it. David Beckham is pictured by TV cameras having a natter in the stands with sing-song extraordinaires Jay-Z and Beyonce. Watch out for Solange, Becks!

SPORTING 0-1 CHELSEA - MATIC GOAL

GOAL: Chelsea take a fully deserved lead! Diego Costa and Andre Schurrle have both had excellent chances to open the scoring but it’s Nemanja Matic who grabs the goal after being left free at the far post to nod home from a corner.

PSG 2-1 BARCELONA - VERRATTI GOAL

GOAL: They may have been tremendous at one end, but Barca are woeful when defending from a set piece once again. A corner is missed by both Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Ivan Rakitic, leaving Marco Verratti with a simple header into an empty net at the back post!

MAN CITY 1-1 ROMA - TOTTI GOAL

GOAL: City’s lead didn’t last long and it’s grand old man Francesco Totti with the goal! Radja Nainggolan slides a pass through the defence to the 38-year-old, now the oldest scorer in Champions League history, and the veteran Italian clips a superb finish over the onrushing Joe Hart.
