Slideshow: Celebration and dismay
1. Sangweni saves hosts
South Africa, facing elimination in front of a packed house in the Moses Mabhida stadium, showed the necessary fighting spirit required in order to stave off defeat against a determined Moroccan outfit. After Morocco's early opener, May Mahlangu sent in a sublime strike to give the hosts hope with the score at 1-1. But when Morocco went into the lead once more, an 86th minute wonder strike from Siyabonga Sangweni was needed to keep the hosts top of group A and set up a tie against Mali. With nothing to lose, the South African side will be motivated to continue their Africa Cup of Nations journey.
