1. Rain threatens ceremony
With floods predicted in Johannesburg on Saturday, the opening ceremony of the Africa Cup of Nations was under threat, but the performers were able to take to the stage in front of some brave fans who witnessed a mixture of traditional dances, a performance by singing sensation Lira and a symbol of what this year's edition of the Africa Cup of Nations represents, as performers formed a beating red heart.
