Having attracted interest from a number clubs, Zambian striker Lazarous Kambole’s club Zesco United is not interested in entertaining any bids.
Media reports in the country indicate that the 2016 Caf Champions League semi-finalists are not ready to part ways with one of their star players.
It is not a secret that the Chipolopolo international has caught the attention of a number of clubs in the South African Premier Soccer League (PSL).
Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are two of the clubs who are reportedly keen on the player after his displays at the 2018 Cosafa Cup tournament in Polokwane last month.
The report comes after a few days where it was mentioned that Kambole could be on his way to Mayfair as the Buccaneers were close to securing a deal for the attacker.
However, his club’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Richard Mulenga has told the player’s suitors to look elsewhere as they pin their hopes on the player to win trophies.
Just this week, Kambole was on the scoresheet as they beat Buildcon 2-0 in their MTN Faz Super League match at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Zesco are yet to lose in 12 matches, 10 of those matches are wins and the club will want to hold on to their prized asset and currently at the top of their domestic log table.
On the other hand, George Lwandamina’s men are hoping to reach the knockout stages of the Caf Champions League as they will meet Primeiro do Agosto on July 17.
“There are a number of teams, especially from South Africa and the Middle East interested in him,” Mulenga told Lusaka Times.
“But what we have told all of them is we are competing in the league and we are also competing in the Champions League and we wouldn’t want to sell our best players right now. What we have told them is, talk to us in December,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old netted six goals for Chipolopolo since getting his first national team call up in January and could reunite with fellow Zambians in Justin Shonga and Augustine Mulenga, should he join Pirates.
