We have an edge over Orlando Pirates, says SuperSport United winger Masango

SuperSport United are set to lock horns with Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final on Saturday.

Matsatsantsa are going into the clash fresh of two back-to-back encounters against Congolese giants TP Mazembe in the 2017 Caf Confederation Cup. Matsatsantsa earned two impressive draws against the defending champions and SuperSport’s Mandla Masango believes that their African exploits give them an edge going into the final.

“It’s going to be an interesting game,” Masango told SunSport.

“We have been playing in the Caf confederation and that will give us a little bit of an edge. But on the day it will be entirely up to us as players to decide our faith."

Meanwhile, the Buccaneers have struggled this season and while they are seen as underdogs, Masango is wary that they will be looking to redeem themselves.

“Playing Pirates it’s always difficult whether they are on form or not. They finished out of the top eight brackets so they want something to redeem themselves," Masango said.

“The mental strength will come to play, we have to be mentally ready, mentally focused. We have to use it as our advantage pick up where we left off in the Caf Confederation cup on Tuesday,” Masango concluded.
