Countryman De Gea had enjoyed a period of dominance at that ceremony in recent years, but his crown has been passed on.

He would also appear to have competition in the shot-stopping stakes, with Herrera showing during his summer break that he is a versatile and multi-talented performer.

This is not the first time that Herrara has showcased his impressive reflexes either, as United have been quick to point out.

De Gea, though, was quick to offer a response, reminding Herrera that he is also as good with his feet as he is with his hands.

The Red Devils could find themselves short on keeping options this summer, as De Gea continues to be linked with a return to his homeland at Real Madrid.
