United Enyimba can beat Rayon Sports, says Rasaq Adegbite

Primeiro de Agosto of Angola's, Rasaq Adegbite has admonished Enyimba to be united in their push for semi final ticket in the Caf Confederation Cup when they host Rayon Sports of Rwanda in the return leg of their quarter-final fixture at the Enyimba Stadium, Aba on Sunday.

The People’s Elephant held Rayon Sports to a goalless draw in Kigali when the first leg was played last weekend but Adegbite believes that the result of the initial leg does not give any advantage to Enyimba knowing that Rayon Sports would also be coming with confidence that they could turn the table.

He warned his former club against underrating the east African side because they could surprise Enyimba if they fail to approach them with caution.

“Enyimba players have the opportunity to put their names in gold when they face and Rayon Sports on Sunday and I want them to seize the opportunity to play together as one and united,” Adegbite told Goal.

“Enyimba must not feel that they have done the job already because of the away draw they got in Kigali. Football has changed and most of the things that one holds as an advantage are no longer there. They must be willing to help one another.

“I know that Enyimba’s experience will stand them out but they must be willing to come out of their comfort zone and play very well. They will qualify ahead of Rayon if they are able to do the necessary basic things.”

Adegbite just won the league title with the Angolan club and they are also through to the semi-final of the Caf Champions League after they eliminated TP Mazembe of DR Congo on the away goal rule after they were held to a goalless draw at home in the first leg.

The attacker affirmed that it was because they had self-belief and were urged on by their head coach, Zoran Manojlovic who told them they could do it in spite of the difficult first leg.

“It was not a smooth journey to the semi-final for us because the odd was against us before the game because of the goalless draw we played at home against them,” Adegbite continued.

“We went into the return leg with the belief that we could do it. Our coach too was very helpful. At the height of the two penalty kicks they awarded against us we were calm that we could still score more goals.”
