Sundowns assistant coach Mokwena on Orlando Pirates radar

Mamelodi Sundowns could reportedly lose their assistant coach Rulani Mokwena to Orlando Pirates.

The young coach is part of the Sundowns technical team that has guided the team to the 2016 Caf Champions League and 2017 Caf Super Cup triumphs in the last 10 months.

Mokwena is said to be on the list of potential candidates, who could soon join Pirates as the club's head coach Milutin Sredojevic's assistant.

The Serbian trainer was officially announced as the new Pirates gaffer on Thursday replacing Swedish mentor Kjell Jonevret, who resigned earlier this week.

Mokwena joined the Sundowns technical team during the 2014/15 season following a stint as the club's Under-19 side head coach.

The former Platinum Stars technical team member won the 2014/15 Nedbank Cup and 2015/16 PSL title with the Brazilians.

He holds a degree in sports science from the University of Johannesburg.
