Pollen Ndlanya: Kaizer Chiefs should sign Anthony Laffor and Thabo Rakhale

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Pollen Ndlanya has urged his former club to sign Mamelodi Sundowns forward Anthony Laffor ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

The Liberia international struggled for game time at Sundowns during the recent campaign - making 13 appearances in all domestic competitions and scoring once in the process.

Ndlanya believes that the 33-year-old would do the job for Amakhosi, who are are expected to beef up their squad this winter having qualified for next season's Caf Confederation Cup.

“This is the time for the team to go to the drawing board and invest on new players,” Ndlanya told Vodacom Soccer.

“They have to get new players as they prepare for the new season. Chiefs are a big club and need quality players," he continued.

Laffor, who still has another season left on his contract with the Brazilians, has been linked with a possible move to Chiefs since 2015 and it remains to be seen if the Soweto giants will make a bid for the player this winter.

“Definitely Laffor. I have been crying for that player. He must come to Chiefs," the former South Africa international added.

The 47-year-old retired striker also stated that Amakhosi need an attacking midfielder like Thabo Rakhale, who joined Chippa United from Orlando Pirates.

“I think at the moment Chiefs need players like Laffor and Thabo 'Jomo' Rakhale. Players that will bring creativity and excitement to the club," Ndlanya said.

“I do not know why he has not been playing at Sundowns because he is a quality player and I hope they can buy him because he is that player that also gives a lot of goals," he concluded.

Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane recently stated that he would like to keep Laffor ahead of the 2018/19 season.

However, the accomplished tactician indicated that he won't stand in the experienced attacker's way if he wants to leave the Tshwane giants.
