Jonevret was unveiled as Pirates' head coach on Monday morning, and at the time, Khoza announced that they were still sorting out his paper work

Head coach Kjell Jonevret will be on the technical bench when Orlando Pirates welcome Polokwane City to the Orlando Stadium on Saturday night.

This after the 54-year-old mentor was granted a temporary work permit on Wednesday.

The club announced on their social media platforms that Jonevret will assume his duties as head coach this coming weekend.

The Swedish-born tactican joined Bucs on a three-year deal earlier this week, and he was unveiled by club's chairman Dr Irvin Khoza on Monday.

He will be eager to hit the ground running as the Buccaneers desperately need to move up the log table following a run of nine games without a win.

The Soweto giants are currently placed 10th on the log after 18 league matches.

Pirates had been without a permanent coach since Muhsin Ertugral resigned at the beginning of November 2016 following a 6-1 defeat to SuperSport United.

Augusto Palacios was hired on an interim basis soon afterwards, but the Peruvian coach found the going tough as positive results were not forthcoming.
