Mhlengi Cele: AmaZulu will add to Sundowns' woes

Mhlengi Cele wants AmaZulu to keep a clean sheet when they take on Mamelodi Sundowns in the league on Sunday.

The 31-year-old, who has established himself as one of the most important members in Cavin Johnson’s team, says the recent Fifa international break gave his side enough chance to rectify the mistakes they made in their 3-0 loss to Bidvest Wits.

“We come from a 3-0 loss to Wits. We can’t afford another disappointment. Besides, this time around we are playing in front of our die-hard supporters who also can’t accept another loss. The nice thing is that we had a fruitful Fifa break. We’ve managed to rectify our previous mistakes,” Cele told the media.

Cele feels the timing Brazilians game came at the right time as they want to rub add to their woes come weekend.

Sundowns have had a slow start to the campaign having also crashed out of both the Caf Champions League and MTN8 competitions.

“On Sunday, our aim is to rub salt into Sundowns' wounds. We will take our revenge on them. In our previous home fixture, they crashed us - this time that won’t happen,” vowed Cele.

Cele is hoping for an injury-free season with Usuthu, and he has vowed to score more goals than last season.

“I am praying not to get injured. This time I want to score many goals. If it wasn’t for injuries, last season I would have scored more than seven goals," he said.

Usuthu recently signed Bongi Ntuli on loan from Sundowns, and Cele believes that he will benefit from the striker's arrival and he is looking foward to working with the burly marksman.

"I hope the arrival of Bongi Ntuli will increase my chances. Physically, he is a tough striker who always troubles defenders. I am looking forward to working with him,” concluded Cele.
