The South Africa international hit the ground running as soon as he joined Amakhosi from Bloemfontein Celtic in 2012.
Tower, as he's afftectionately known, formed a solid partnership with Tefu Mashamaite when Chiefs last won the league title under former coach Stuart Baxter in the 2014/15 season.
Since then, the 27-year-old has been one of Amakhosi's best players, and Komphela gave him a starring role alongside Lorenzo Gordinho in defense over the past two seasons.
Although Mathoho has been unfortunate when it comes to attracting European clubs, he hasn't allowed that to have any impact on his performances.
Mathoho recently signed a new two-year deal with the Glamour Boys, and he's set to break more records in the Amakhosi colours for the foreseeable future.
