The Colombian has arrived with much fanfare after his delightful displays for his previous club

Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela admits he is happy with the balance of the squad, but is ‘desperate’ to get new signing Leonardo Castro into action.

“We are waiting for him to get his papers and as soon as that happens‚ he is ready,” Komphela told The Sowetan.

Castro arrived after three successful seasons with Mamelodi Sundowns, where he helped the club win the 2016 Caf Champions League title.

His debut has been delayed by his work permit not arriving on time, and could be available to feature at Baroka FC on Sunday.

"If he had them last week we could have introduced him [against Polokwane City], so we are desperate to get his papers‚”

“The guy is a finisher‚ he is unbelievable‚ he is class and that is what you want,” Komphela said.

Castro along with Siphelele Ntshangase and Kabelo Mahlasela joined Chiefs during the current Transfer Window, while  Siphosake Ntiyantiya was promoted from the Chiefs youth structures.

With Mahlasela ruled out for the rest of the season, Komphela feels they have a good enough squad nonetheless after addressing the problems they had in attack.

“For far too long we have had problems on top (in attack),” he added.

“Everything else is OK – at the back‚ in the midfield‚ it is all OK. But we were not that convincing on top and now we have strengthened there,” Komphela concluded.
