Kaizer Chiefs could miss out on Free State Stars winger Sinethemba Jantjie

Goal has gathered that Kaizer Chiefs could miss out on Free State Stars winger Sinethemba Jantjie in the January transfer window.

This follows after William Twala whom Amakhosi were prepared to use as bait, rejected the offer to move to the Free State province.

According to a source privy to the situation, Twala isn't happy that the club intends to use him in a swap deal which will see him join Luc Eymael's team.

"He's not happy at all that he could be used as bait for Jantjie, and as things stand, the deal may not happen unless Chiefs are willing to buy Jantjie out of his contract," the source told Goal.

Twala has fallen out of favour under Steve Komphela, and he hasn't featured for the Glamour Boys in competitive matches since September.

Jantjie on the other hand, has risen to prominence at Stars, and he is one of their key players so far this season.

If the deal fails to materialize then Chiefs will have to look elsewhere for another attacking player.

Reports in the local media suggest that the Soweto giants are not the only team interested in Jantjie, with Bidvest Wits also heavily linked with the utility player.
