‘I am living my dream’ - Ibrahim Alhassan on Austria Wien move

Austria Wien midfielder Ibrahim Alhassan says he is ‘living his dream’ after his summer move from Akwa United.

Since his departure from the 2017 Federation Cup winners, the Nigeria international has settled in well at the Franz Horr Stadium, scoring twice in eight appearances for the club.

And the former Wikki Tourists midfielder who admitted it had always been his dream to play in Europe hails his teammates and the fans for helping him settle in very quickly at the Austrian outfit.

“Life is fantastic here because the dream of every player is to play abroad and I am living my dream playing with my teammates and playing good," Alhassan told Goal.

“I think it is really good for me and good for the team.

“I am trying to adapt to the weather, and my new environment but life is good.

“I want to firstly give God the glory for helping me settle in very well.

“Then I have to give credits to my teammates, everyone welcomed me to the club, even the supporters welcomed me with open arms and they showed me that I am a member of this family.

“I am also a player that always tries to see how quickly I can adapt to my environment I find myself so I try as much as I can and I am still trying to adapt to some things that are alien to me - different culture, different environment, different society, different food, and different world far away from Africa," he concluded.

Alhassan - who was afforded a cameo in Austria Wien's comprehensive 4-1 victory away at Rijeka in Thursday's Uefa Europa League encounter - will be looking to get back into Thorsten Fink's starting XI for their upcoming Austrian Bundesliga encounter against Mattersburg on Sunday.
