Dan Malesela - Chippa UnitedGallo

I am back to fix the situation at Chippa United, says Dan Malesela

Chippa United currently find themselves fighting for their lives at the bottom of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) table.

In an effort to rescue the sinking ship, Chippa have recalled coach Dan Malesela from special leave in a bizarre turn of events. It was believed that the writing was on the wall for Malesela but with the Port Elizabeth-based outfit struggling in the league, he has been roped back in to steer the ship.

"Yes, I am coming back to PE (Port Elizabeth)," Malesela told The Sowetan.

"It's not important how my return to Chippa came about. I am coming back not to really help but to fix the situation."

"I was not shocked neither was I surprised nor did I expect it. This was a request from the club and there were a lot of considerations that I needed to make and discussions with my family. I also had to discuss this issue with my manager, if it was okay or not,” Malesela said.

"I am not going to ask anybody why this, why not that. It's going to be business as usual.

"I am not angry with anybody. You know we make decisions in football. Sometimes they are right, sometimes they are not, so it's normal for me," Malesela added.

When asked if Chippa would stay up the coach was evidently confident.

"I have a feeling that something can be done," Malesela concluded.
