The South African Football Association (Safa) on Wednesday confirmed that they will hold talks with Quinton Fortune over the assistant coaching role at Bafana Bafana.
Fortune joined the Bafana technical team upon his arrival from Europe, and despite the warm welcome he received from his bosses at Safa, not everyone is pleased with his return.
At least a few loyal Bafana fans still remember how he used to unavail himself for call-ups during his playing days.
Here's how Twitter reacted to the news of the former Manchester United midfielder's return to national team.
Its a disgrace that the traitor Quinton Fortune now wants to be part of the Bafana setup after all those years rejecting call ups — The South African (@OwnGoalMerchant) August 16, 2017
Quinton Fortune was of the rotten apples during his playing days,he was Bafana Bafana's prodigal son, played only when it suited him. — KUNTE KINTE (@MavinMaverick) August 16, 2017
