Dolly's departure was difficult to accept, says Sundowns captain Kekana

Keagan Dolly was an integral part of Mamelodi Sundowns' triumphant squad and his departure has left a void in Pitso Mosimane’s squad.

The 24-year-old made the move to French Ligue 1 side Montpellier, during the 2016/2017 January transfer window.

Sundowns’ captain Hlompho Kekana has spoken about the loss of their former playmaker and he believes that Dolly’s contribution to the team has been difficult to replicate.

“Well‚ I would say yeah‚ we do miss Keagan (Dolly) because he has been our key player for the past season‚ and for the games we played in the (Caf) Champions League‚” Kekana told Times Media.

“Obviously losing him so early wasn't expected. We were very close to him and understood him both on the pitch and as a person‚ and it was a difficult thing to accept that he had moved to greener pastures,” he added.

“As players I think we just have to make sure that we apply ourselves as professionals and make sure we start winning matches," he said.

“That’s the only important thing at the moment because that's the situation we are in,” Kekana concluded.
