David Beckham's Real Madrid reunion sees him 'back with the best' Ronaldo & Roberto Carlos

Manchester United and Real Madrid legend David Beckham played alongside some top talent in his day, with Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos considered to be among “the best”.

Having made his name amid the Class of 92 academy graduates at Old Trafford, the former England captain completed a shock switch to Spain in the summer of 2003.

With the Blancos having bought into both his sporting ability and off-field appeal, Beckham slotted seamlessly into a star-studded squad at Santiago Bernabeu.

Among those already in the Spanish capital were Brazilian duo Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos, with the World Cup winners forming part of the ‘Galactico’ culture.

Beckham would win just one major honour alongside the pair, with the La Liga title secured in 2007 as he prepared to head for the exits.

His next move took him to MLS side LA Galaxy, with a stint in America including two loan spells at AC Milan before seeing out his playing days in France with Paris Saint-Germain.

Success followed Beckham wherever he went, but he clearly still holds the memories of his time in Madrid particularly fondly, with the opportunity to catch up with some familiar faces in London recently snapped up.

Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos certainly hold strong claims to “the best” title bestowed upon them.

The former was a three-time World Player of the Year, two-time World Cup winner and one of the most fearsome frontmen the game has ever seen – with over 400 goals to his name for club and country.

Roberto Carlos, meanwhile, set the standard for left-backs around the world, with his CV including countless major honours and a highlight reel of some truly spectacular strikes.
